Miri-Permyjaya RM1 Nasi Lemak became popular on the Internet and social media, Member of Parliament Miri YB Dr. Michael Teo went to the Permyjaya very early morning at 5 am to support couple of hawkers and purchase 600 packs of Nasi Lemak, 100 packs of Nasi Ayam Sambal and 20 boxes of Kuih Gula Atap, Free delivery to local residents.
YB Dr. Michael Teo praised that there are good-hearted people who sell Nasi Lemak to the people with almost no profit in a time when inflation is ravaging the people's lives, so as to relieve their burden of life.
He pledged to continue to support the young and kind hawker couple, husband Awgku Haziq (29) and wife Nur Ain Fitria (21)
YB Dr. Michael Teo learned that Nur Ain Fitria is currently 4 months pregnant and has a one-year-old child at home. Considering the heavy burden of the couple's life, YB Dr. Michael Teo decided to provide Nur Ain Fitria with free maternity check up to the date of delivery at his clinic.
The couple was driving a National car Viva on weekdays, at 6 am in the morning stop by a park in Permyjaya, selling Nasi Lemak and other pastries.
Because the price of Nasi Lemak is too cheap, that is, only RM1 per pack, it has become popular on the Internet and social media, and a large number of residents line up to buy it every morning.
The Nasi Ayam Sambal sold by the couple is also very cheap at only RM2 per box, and the Kuih Gula Atap is priced at RM2 per box of 3 pieces.
