As we begin a new week and step into a new month, let's set our hearts on what matters most:

No matter what July held, August is a fresh reminder that God is always at work.

Common Ground Wellness Center is about more than building relationships. We also help our members build life skills that last. 🙆‍♀️🙆‍♂️

Back in the spring, our members planted some seeds in our garden beds. Months later, they are enjoying the fresh vegetables they've grown with their meals, while learning skills about self-sufficiency: 𝘎𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘣𝘶𝘥𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘫𝘰𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬. 🙌🏼

With all of this sunshine and hot weather, we are in full summer mode! Between backyard barbecues, trips to the park, and long summer days, it's easy to forget that not everyone gets to enjoy summer the same way.

During the school year, many children receive breakfast and lunch through their school district. But, when summer arrives, those meals often disappear.

That's why we're so grateful to Excellus BlueCross BlueShield for their generous donation to our Summer Grab-N-Go Program. Because of their kindness, children in our community can spend a little less time worrying about where their next meal will come from and a little more time just being kids.

Thank you, Excellus BCBS, for helping make summer a little brighter for local families. ☀️

Hot Diggity Dog! 🌭

We had such a great time at Funky Beez 2nd Annual 𝑪𝒉𝒐𝒎𝒑 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒚 contest.

What an incredible turn out from the community. While everyone came to cheer on the contestants, they were also supporting a wonderful small business who always gives back- that's a win-win. 🍦🏆

A big thank you to our very own chomper, Colin, for representing Catholic Charities. He may not have taken home the trophy, but he gave it everything he had and we're grateful for his willingness to help a great cause. 🙏

Thank you to Funky Beez for hosting such a fun event and to everyone who came out to support all the charities. We love being part of this community. 💙❤

We don’t get to post about our Residential Division as often as we’d like because protecting the privacy of the individuals always comes first…but today they deserve such a BIG SHOUT OUT for the work that they do. 📣

24/7 our team provides safe, supportive homes for individuals with developmental disabilities and for those navigating mental health challenges. In 2025 alone, we provided housing support to over 340 individuals in our programs! 🙌🏼

Regulations may guide how we operate, but it is a team that gets us through the day-to-day. From the Division Director, to Managers, Supervisors, front line staff, nurses, administrative support, and our Compliance Department- the success is a collective effort.

Today we were honored to celebrate them with a BBQ as all of our IRA homes, Certified Apartment Program, and Supportive Housing Program received EXCELLENT reviews from their state visits. 🥳🎉👏

Congratulations Residential and thank you for your heart and dedication! ❤️💙

We're bringing all the energy and Colin's bringing his appetite and determination.

We are so excited to share that Catholic Charities has been chosen as one of the charities for Funky Beez's 𝑪𝒉𝒐𝒎𝒑 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒚 Contest!

On Sunday July 12 at 1:00 pm, we'll be joining several incredible local organizations, including Mercy House, RISE, MHAST, the YMCA, One Plate One Community, Gigi's Playhouse, and many others, to cheer on contestants as they attempt to eat their weight in hot dogs.

If you've ever been to Funky Beez, you know they're about so much more than amazing ice cream. Every. Single. Night. they offer a Friends Box to anyone in our community who could use a meal. Over the past few years, they've shared thousands of meals with neighbors facing food insecurity. That's the kind of community spirit we love to support.

Our "chomper," Colin, will be representing Catholic Charities and we're cheering him on all the way!

We'd love to see some familiar faces there. Bring your family, grab some ice cream, cheer on the contestants, and help support some wonderful local organizations.
Who would've thought hot dogs could do so much good?! ❤ 🌭

With the temperatures rising this week, we want to remind our community to take care of yourselves and each other.

If you are feeling overheated or need a safe place to cool down, please take advantage of local cooling centers in your area. They are there to offer relief, rest, and a break from the extreme heat. ☀️

During hot weather, small steps can make a big difference:
• Stay hydrated with plenty of water
• Limit time outdoors during peak afternoon heat
• Wear light, loose-fitting clothing
• Check in on older adults, neighbors, and anyone who may be at higher risk
• Never leave children or pets in a parked car, even for just a few minutes

Heat can be dangerous, especially for those without access to air conditioning or stable housing. If you or someone you know needs support, please reach out to local resources or community services.
