How to help outdoor community cats: Build a simple shelter: Use a plastic storage bin or sturdy box.

Insulate correctly: Line it with styrofoam and fill it with straw. Do not use blankets or towels, as they absorb moisture from the air and freeze, making the animal colder.

Provide fresh water: Check outdoor bowls frequently to ensure their water hasn't frozen over.

What are the differences between handmade soaps and commercial soaps?

🌼 Handmade soap is more expensive, typically selling in the range of N$50 - N$150 per bar. Handmade soap is far more expensive than most store-bought soaps. It’s worth it, though.
🌼 Handmade soap retains its natural glycerin. In the soapmaking process glycerol (glycerin) is liberated from the triglycerides, which are then converted to sodium salts. Chemically speaking, soap is a “salt”. Glycerin is great for skin, but is extracted from commercial soaps.
🌼 Handmade soap can be custom-made or made to order. I can make soap in small batches, so I can easily custom formulate.
🌼 Handmade soap uses natural essential oils. Commercial store-bought soaps are usually scented with chemicals. Most soapmakers, however, use natural essential oils instead. These oils have therapeutic properties.
🌼 Handmade soap preserves natural oils. The natural skin-nourishing oils I use to make soap actually remain in handmade soap to protect and heal your skin naturally.
