PUBLIC UPDATE: ROAD MAINTENANCE AND SPEEDHUMP CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

The Outapi Town Council hereby informs residents and the general public that, in addition to the ongoing road maintenance project, Andjamba Construction CC has also been appointed for the filling of potholes on various roads within the town, as well as the construction of two (2) speed humps along Nathanael Maxwilili Street, at a total project cost of N$164,232.39.

The construction of the speed humps follows the increasing number of road accidents occurring along Nathanael Maxwilili Street, which have resulted in damage to property and posed risks to public safety. The project also responds to recommendations and concerns raised by residents during public consultation meetings regarding the need for traffic calming measures in the area.

The project is currently underway and is expected to be completed by 30 June 2026.

Council urges all residents and road users to adhere to road signage, exercise caution, and make use of alternative routes where necessary, as guided during the construction period, to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.

The Outapi Town Council appreciates the continued support, feedback, and cooperation from residents and remains committed to working together with the community towards the sustainable development and safety of the town.
