Unlocking Opportunities for Youth Development

The Office of the Governor of the Khomas Region, under the leadership of Hon. Sam Nujoma, invites all young people, entrepreneurs, innovators, students, and aspiring business owners to an Information Sharing Session on Access to Finance Opportunities for the Youth.

Today, Hon. Sam Nujoma, delivered the 11th State of the Region Address before a special session of the Khomas Regional Council at the Council Chambers in Windhoek North.

In his Address, the Governor took stock of the developmental progress of our Region over the past year, accounting to the people of Khomas based on the seven priority areas and eight economic enablers of the 8th Administration, as set out by Her Excellency Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, President of the Republic of Namibia.

The Governor reflected on strides made in education, health, land and housing, youth empowerment, agriculture, safety and security, and infrastructure development, while candidly naming the challenges that continue to confront our Region — among them the pressures of rural-urban migration, land scarcity, and the growth of informal settlements.

Anchored in his vision of ‘a resilient and inclusive Khomas Region, one that plans as one, is governed as one, and answers to its people as one’ the Governor reaffirmed the Office’s commitment to coordinated development and equitable service delivery for an improved quality of life.

In conclusion, the Governor declared with confidence that the state of the Khomas Region is healthy, strong, stable, resilient and sound.

Governor Hon. Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma is attending the opening ceremony of the National Youth Council of Namibia (NYC) General Assembly, held at the Swakopmund Multipurpose Centre in the Erongo Region.

The General Assembly is the highest decision-making body of the Council, bringing together youth leaders from across the country to deliberate on matters affecting young people and the future direction of Namibia’s youth sector.

The Governor’s presence reflects the Office’s continued commitment to youth development and to supporting platforms that empower young Namibians to shape policies and programmes that affect their futures.

Hon. Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma joined officials at Hosea Kutako International Airport on Wednesday to bid farewell to President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah as she departed for official visits to Ghana and Tanzania.

In Ghana, the President is attending a high-level UN conference on reparatory justice for the trafficking and enslavement of Africans, before proceeding to Tanzania for a state visit to strengthen bilateral ties.

The Office of the Governor wishes the President a successful diplomatic mission.
