A Birthday Celebration with a Difference ❤️

Yesterday, I had the privilege of offsetting the medical bills of indigent and underprivileged mothers who gave birth at Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital (FETHA 1), Abakaliki, but could not afford their bills. Every mother deserves to go home with her newborn with dignity, peace, and joy.

I sincerely appreciate the wonderful team led by the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs, Barr. Felicia Nwankpuma, for their dedication and compassion in making this possible.

I am grateful to God for the privilege to touch lives. May we continue to be a blessing to others. ❤️🙏🏽

A NEW YEAR, A HEART FULL OF GRATITUDE ❤️

Today, I celebrate me, I celebrate another year of life, another year of God's faithfulness, and another opportunity to serve, love and make a difference in the lives of others.

I am deeply grateful to Almighty God for bringing me this far. Looking back, I can only say, “Ebenezer — thus far the Lord has helped me.” 🙏🏽

My journey has come with beautiful moments, challenges, lessons and responsibilities, but through it all, God has remained faithful.

As I step into another year, my heart is filled with gratitude for my family, my loved ones, the people I have had the privilege to serve, and everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way.

Being in a position to touch lives, especially the lives of women, children and vulnerable people, is a responsibility I do not take for granted. Every smile, every life impacted and every little difference made reminds me that there is purpose in service.

On this special day, I pray for greater wisdom, strength, good health, peace and grace to continue serving humanity. May God continue to guide my steps, protect my family and give me the courage and humility to do even more.

I am grateful for where I am, grateful for where I have been, and hopeful for where God is taking me.

Thank You, Lord, for the gift of life. 🙏🏽

Happy birthday to me! 🎂🎉❤️

As we celebrate World Breastfeeding Week, I join mothers, families, and healthcare workers in reaffirming the importance of breastfeeding in giving every child the best start in life.

This year's theme, "Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works," reminds us that breastfeeding is one of the greatest gifts a mother can give her child. It nourishes, protects, strengthens the bond between mother and baby, and lays the foundation for a healthier future.

As mothers, we have a unique role in shaping the lives of our children from their very first days. I encourage every mother to embrace exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months and continue breastfeeding alongside appropriate complementary foods, giving our children the healthy start they deserve.

Through BERWO Foundation, we remain committed to supporting and encouraging breastfeeding mothers through awareness campaigns, health education, and community engagement.

Together, let us continue to strengthen what works by supporting every mother to breastfeed with confidence. A healthy child today is the foundation of a stronger Ebonyi tomorrow.

Happy World Breastfeeding Week!

Today, as we observe the International Day Against Trafficking in Persons, I join the global community in reaffirming our commitment to protecting the dignity, rights, and future of every child and vulnerable person.

This year's theme, "Trapped Behind the Scam," reminds us that traffickers continue to exploit people through deception and false promises. We must remain vigilant and work together to protect our young people, especially girls.

Through the BERWO Foundation, we have continued to empower women and girls, raise awareness, and support initiatives that help prevent human trafficking by giving vulnerable people hope, knowledge, and opportunities to build better futures.

I urge parents, community leaders, and all stakeholders to remain alert, speak up against trafficking, and protect those at risk. Together, we can create a safer Ebonyi State where every child is free to dream, grow, and thrive.

Today, as we join the global community to commemorate World Hepatitis Day, I call on all residents of Ebonyi State to unite in the fight against hepatitis, a preventable and treatable disease that continues to affect millions of people worldwide.

This year's commemoration reminds us that awareness, early testing, vaccination, and timely treatment are essential to eliminating hepatitis as a public health threat. No one should suffer from a disease that can be prevented and effectively managed when detected early.

I encourage every individual, family, and community to take advantage of available screening services, embrace healthy practices, and seek accurate information about hepatitis. Together, we can reduce stigma, promote early diagnosis, and ensure that those living with hepatitis receive the care and support they deserve.

As First Lady of Ebonyi State, through BERWO Foundation, I remain committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen public health, improve access to healthcare services, and protect the wellbeing of women, children, and families across our dear state.

Let us all play our part in creating a healthier Ebonyi, where everyone has the opportunity to live free from the burden of hepatitis.

Happy World Hepatitis Day.

Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of joining my devoted Orderly, Esther, as she exchanged marriage vows with her beloved husband, John.

It was a beautiful celebration of love and new beginnings. I congratulate the happy couple and pray that God blesses their union with love, peace, joy, and a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations, Esther and John.

Today, my family and I were deeply blessed to worship with fellow faithful at the Government House Chapel.

Our sincere appreciation goes to Most Rev. Ernest Anezichukwu Obodo, Apostolic Administrator of the Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki, for his profound and inspiring homily. His reflections reminded us to continually place our trust in God and to live lives of faith, love, and service.

I also extend heartfelt gratitude to our Government House Chaplain and, to the twelve newly ordained priests, thank you for your prayers, commitment, and your courageous response to God's call. May the Lord continue to strengthen and guide you as you labour in His vineyard.

To everyone who joined us in today's Holy Mass, thank you for your fellowship and prayers. May the blessings we received today inspire us to serve one another with humility, and compassion

May God continue to bless Ebonyi State, our families, and our dear nation.

Blessed Sunday.
