2027: Why Ogun Needs Yayi's Capacity
By Dr. Emmanuel Olusola Soyoola
Ogun State stands at a defining moment ahead of the 2027 governorship election. Our state requires a leader with national exposure, legislative depth, and the technical capacity to manage complex resources for growth. That leader is Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as "YAYI".
As current Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations and former Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, Senator YAYI has overseen Nigeria’s federal budget processes at the highest level. This is not just legislative experience. It is executive-level capacity to attract funds, prioritize projects, and ensure accountability.
His role at Appropriations puts him in a position to draw more federal investment into Ogun’s roads, rail, ports, and industrial corridors.
He understands how to structure budgets that boost Internally Generated Revenue, support MSMEs, and make Ogun more attractive to investors.
From education and health facilities, to water, roads, and large-scale empowerment, his constituency track record shows he can convert plans into projects statewide.
Senator YAYI’s political base and acceptability cut across Ogun Central, Ogun East, and Ogun West. That unity is critical for peace and stability.
His agenda also prioritizes what matters to our people: job creation, agribusiness development, support for small businesses, and digital skills for youths.
"Ogun cannot afford on-the-job training in 2027. We need a governor who is already tested, already connected, and already has a plan. Senator YAYI represents tested experience, competence, and a clear vision to take Ogun to the next level," Dr. Soyoola stated.
