STATE PDP CHAIRMAN COMMENDS ASPIRANTS FOR THEIR PEACEFUL DISPOSITION AND SPIRIT OF SPORTSMANSHIP EXHIBITED DURING THE PDP PRIMARY ELECTIONS

The State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),Rt.Hon Alwell Asiforo Okere;Ph.D,has commended the aspirants who contested under the platform of the party in the just concluded party's primary elections for their peaceful disposition and the spirit of sportsmanship exhibited by the aspirants which he said,were the attributes of a loyal and dedicated party man.

The Chairman who spoke Tuesday, when he held an interactive session with a cross section of the party's flag bearers, aspirants and the Local Government party Chairmen of the PDP across the seventeen (17) Local Government areas, congratulated candidates who emerged as the party's flag bearers while calling on them to be magnanimous in victory and charged them to set up very formidable campaign teams in their various Local Government areas saying that the party is ready to go to the polls with other political parties in the forthcoming December 18 Local Government elections.He further assured the party's readiness in bringing together all aggrieved members who lost out during the primary elections which he said, would be in the interest of the party..

The State PDP Chairman used the medium to appeal to other aspirants who could not make it now not to see their loss as an excuse to leave the party but enjoined them to remain committed and loyal to the party as the party would only reward those who are loyal to the party and those who did not sabotage or disobey the party's rules and regulations..

He further called on stakeholders across the state to liase with their LGA party Chairmen to provide offices for the smooth running of the party in the various wards and local government areas where necessary..

In their separate reactions on behalf of other aspirants,Chief NCNC Okoli and Nze B.O Ahuruonye, expressed their dissatisfaction in the uncomplimentary roles of some of the stakeholders of the party in their area, saying that they had concluded on taking the party to court but noted that they were satisfied with the assurances of the party Chairman and however,plegded their total support and loyalty to the party and the candidates..

The meeting attracted the presence of Members of the State Working Committee of the party,LGA party Chairmen,the party's flag bearers and their Deputies and other aspirants..

PDP CHAIRMAN DEBUNKS RUMORS OF HIS EXTORTION OF ASPIRANTS

Our attention have been to spurious and malicious allegations against the person of the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State,Rt.Hon Alwell Asiforo Okere,Ph.D making the rounds online and on social media via a recorded video by some highly placed political office holders from Ukwa West, wherein they accused the State Chairman of receiving monetary compensations from aspirants from Ukwa West.The unsubstantiated claims and accusations designed to mislead the party faithful and the general public are completely false, treacherous and libelous.

This latest attempt to bring the image of the State Party Chairman to disrepute is the result of a failed blackmail and extortionist attempt,which has been reported to the appropriate authorities.We urge the public to disregard the false allegations in its entirety.

As a former lawmaker who Rose to the position of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly,it is on record that the State PDP Chairman has never been associated with crime neither has he been accused of misappropriating public funds or extorting people and do not have any intention or intentions to do so.

As a principled and a responsible politician who is guided by the laws of the and the constitution of the party,he is committed leaving the party better than he met it and will not be distracted by the antics of these detractors..

It was a demonstration of democracy Tuesday, Nov. 10 at Ukebe, in Ohuru/ Mkporobe ward , Ukwa east LGA of Abia state when members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of the ward overwhelmingly elected through direct primaries, Mr. Reginald Godswill Chimezirim as the PDP councillorship candidate for for the December 18, Local Government Election. This confirms the determination and resolve of the Abia PDP chairman, Rt. Hon. Asiforo Alwell Okere to ensure a level playing ground for free, credible LGA elections across the state. In any contest only one person wins. I congratulate
the winner and all those who participated in the election.

THE Chairman of the Peoples Democratic party in Abia state, Dr. Allwell Asiforo Okere has warned all the party's chairmanship aspirants contesting for the December 18 Local Government Election that the party will disqualify any of them found to be involved in any form of violence during the party's primaries scheduled for Thursday 12 December, 2020.
Rt. Hon. Okere stated this Thursday during an enlarged meeting he held at the party's Secretarait in umuahia with all the party's chairmanship aspirants, Local Government Chairmen of the party across the seventeen local Government Areas of the state as well as the Transition committee chairmen of the councils.

The state PDP chairman assured all the aspirants that the party will give all aspirants a level playing ground to test their popularity and stated that days of impositions and anointing of particular candidates is over"

He said " The Party will never impose any candidate on the people. There won't be any form of impunity all those dropping names around should better go and work hard as the party's primaries will be free and Fair with obvious evidence of credibility"

He said " No aspirant would be intimidated by any means but any one of the aspirants found to be involved in any form of violence either individually or by his boys, brothers and family members will be automatically disqualified"

He said " we are all brothers and sisters and the contest we're going into is a family affair where only one person will emerge to represent the party. It is not a do or die issue and we should be sportsman like knowing fully well that in this contest only one candidate will emerge "

He told the party's chairmanship aspirants "to go and do their home works very well, talk to your people if they elect you fine but if not you wait for next time and still remain loyal members of the party"

Dr. Okere assured all the aspirants that the party will do her utmost best to give all the aspirants a conducive and credible environment to present themselves to the people without any form of molestation and intimidation.

SIR JOHNSON ONUIGBO ARRIVES PDP SECRETARIAT, RECEIVED BY THE PDP EXCO MEMBERS

The remains of the immediate past PDP Chairman in Abia State, late Sir. Johnson Okebaram Onuigbo (Akinboard) arrives the PDP secretariat, where it was received by the State Chairman of the Party in the State,Rt.Hon Allwell Asiforo Okere flanked by other Exco Members of the Party.

Receiving the body of the late icon and party Chairman,the State Chairman of the Party,Rt.Hon Alwell Asiforo Okere,noted that late Sir Johnson Onuigbo lived an exemplary life on earth and that he would be remembered for his diligent roles which were instrumental to the success of the Party in the State.

He urged the bereaved family and his loved ones to take solace in the fact that their late patriach left legacies worthy of commendation and prayed God to give them the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss..

PDP CHAIRMAN ASSURES PARTY FAITHFUL OF A LEVEL PLAYING GROUND IN THE FORTHCOMING LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS

THE State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP),Rt.Hon Alwell Asiforo Okere has assured that his administration will continue to provide a level playing ground to all aspirants and zones in the forthcoming local government elections.

The PDP Chairman made the promise today, when he received in audience a delegation of some stakeholders of Umunneochi Local Government Area led by a PDP stalwart from the area and the Managing Director, Mainland Oil and Gas Limited, Prince Chris Odinaka Igwe,who paid him a courtesy call in his office at the party's secretariat at Umuahia, maintained that his administration has set out templates aimed at reconciling and bringing together all aggrieved members of the party in different areas which he said, would bring the needed peace in the party.

Rt.Hon Asiforo Okere,commended the MD, Mainland Oil and Gas aww Limited, Prince Chris Odinaka Igwe for his kind gestures towards the success of the party and urged him and other stakeholders from Umunneochi to shun all divisive tendencies that would tear the party apart in their area and enjoined them to make sure that peace is enthroned in the area in order to ensure the success of the party in the forthcoming local government elections..

Earlier in his remarks,the Managing Director, Mainland Oil and Gas Limited, Prince Chris Odinaka Igwe, congratulated Rt.Hon Asiforo Okere on his successful emergence as the state Chairman of the party, noting that his emergence will bring the needed reformation in the party while calling on him to bring in his wealth of experience in the field to make appropriate decisions that would be beneficial to all parties and zones and assured him of their continuous support and encouragement for the smooth running of the party..

ABIA PDP CHAIRMAN CHARGES FORMER FLEEING LEGISLATORS TO RETURN.

THE Abià State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rt Hon.Allwell Asiforo Okere has called on all former members of the State House of Assembly who left the party to other political parties to return and enjoy the new lease of life provided by the present leadership of the party in the state.

Dr. Okere made the call yesterday at the party's Secretariat in Umuahia when members of the Ex. Abia State Legislators Forum led by their Chairman, Rt. Hon. Emeka Stanley paid him a courtesy call to congratulate him as one of their members to emerge as the new chairman of the party in the state.

Dr. Okere told his former colleagues that " l am here today as the state chairman of the PDP by God's Grace and support of many of you who lend your voices for my emergence and I am promising that I will not let you people down"

He said" For those of our members who left the party to other political parties for any reason whatsoever either for alleged injustice, imposition or high handedness,I urge all of you to come back as the new leadership of the party in the state will make everyone comfortable and relevant"

He advised those who had left the party to come back to the house you helped to build promising them that nobody is going to marginalize or
impose anyone on any position hence there will be a level playing ground for all party members"

He commended the former legislators for their visit and explained that the experience he garnered from the twelve years he served in different capacities in the state Assembly remains a source of his strength with enough working materials for his new assignment and commended the group for their unity and assured them that his office will continually be open to them for their advises while calling on them for their support for the party and the PDP government in the state under the able and dynamic leadership of Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu.

Earlier in his speech, the Chairman of the Ex.Abia Legislators Forum, Rt. Hon. Emeka Stanley told the Chairman that they were in his office to congratulate him as one of their own and show him solidarity and support to succeed in his new office.

Chief Stanley said" we are here to congratulate you on your emergence and thank the PDP for finding one of us capable ,suitable and equipped to lead the party"

He said " your position was ordained by God and there was no war nor rancour over your emergence"

Chief Stanley said " we are here on a brotherly felicitation to you and we know and have worked with you and can attest of your intelligence, fairness and equity minded capacity of taking the party to a higher level"

He charged him to see equity, fairness and justice as key words that should monumentally propel all his decisions and actions.

In his vote of thanks, Hon P.C Mba thanked God for the emergence of a character like the PDP chairman saying that those of them who had worked with him can attest of his honesty, humility and sound character.

He stated that even non members of their party who are members of the group are happy with his emergence because of the chairman's tested character and asked God to grant him the wisdom to succeed in his new position.

Prayers led by Lady Victoria Akanwa a member of the group who served in the old IMO state House of Assembly was made for the Chairman and other members of the state working committee of the party.

STATE PDP CHAIRMAN TASKS STAKEHOLDERS ON PEACE TO ENSURE SUCCESS of THE PARTY COME 2023.

The Abia State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) ,Rt.Hon.Allwel Asiforo Okere,has called on stakeholders of the party in Arochukwu local Government Area of the state to shun politics of divisiveness and acrimony in order to enthrone peace and ensure success of the party come 2023.

The PDP Chairman who made the call Monday,when a delegation of some stakeholders from Arochukwu local government area led by the immediate past Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District,Senator Mao Ohuabunwa paid him a solidarity visit in his office at the party's secretariat in Umuahia,described peace as one of the virtues of a good politician noting that for a politician to succeed in his political career,he must imbibe the culture of ensuring peace and unity amongst his followers which will in turn,aid in bringing the needed development in the area..

The PDP Chairman commended the immediate past Senator representing Abia North senatorial district for his outstanding records as a parliamentarian saying that Abia North senatorial district and the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia State will continue to miss his robust and people oriented representation while urging him to make sacrifices that would enthrone the needed peace in Arochukwu local government area of the party.

He thanked the group for their magnanimity in coming to show solidarity with the new state executive committee of the party in the state while assuring them of the readiness of his administration to reconcile and reunite warring factions and pleaded with them to set up mechenaries that would ensure that peace is restored in the area..

.HON ASIFORO OKERE URGES SUPPORT FOR THE PDP LED ADMINISTRATION IN ABIA

The State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, Rt.Hon Allwell Asiforo Okere,has expressed gratitude to people of Ohuru/ Mkporobo ward for the reception organized in his honour alongside a newly inaugurated State Ex-Officio Member of the state executive committee of the party,Lady Comfort Wometh and urged the people to continue in their support to the PDP led government in Abia for the greater good of the state.

The PDP Chairman who spoke at his country home, Ukebe Ohuru in Ukwa east local government Area of the state at a civic reception organized in his honor by his people of Ohuru/Mkporobe Ward Saturday, expressed his appreciation to God to have been found worthy of public service, saying that having benefitted so much from the rare privilege of serving, that he will dedicate his life and resources to helping the less privileged and peace building in the state especially in the ward.

The PDP Chairman who expressed his delight at the large turnout of people and the commitment of stakeholders of the ward towards the success of the reception, disclosed that he was proud of them and enjoined all party faithful to give their support to the new PDP Executive Committee in the state which he said will help to usher in meaningful and people oriented development in the state.

Also speaking,a former state Financial Secretary of the Party in Abia State and the Leader of the party in the Ward,High Chief I.N Ahunanya, expressed his appreciation to the leadership of PDP in the state for their choice of Rt.Hon Asiforo Okere to pilot the affairs of the party in the state and assured them that he is optimistic and confident that the chairman will deliver in his core responsibilities of ensuring that the party retains power in the state come 2023.
