Dear Youths of Abua/Odual,

We are not merely the leaders of tomorrow; we are the leaders of today.

Let us reject violence, cultism, drug abuse, thuggery and every form of criminality. Let us refuse to be used for political interests while our future is neglected.

Instead, let us pursue education, entrepreneurship, technology, agriculture, community development and responsible political participation.

Demand accountability. Support good leadership. Build yourselves. Build your communities.

We are not the Next Generation; we are the NOW GENERATION.

Let us rise. Let us organise. Let us participate. Let us build.

Over the weekend, Engr. Akari Thankgod Godsgift Emughkuingo, joined party leaders, stakeholders and members of the NDC Abua/Odual Chapter at a strategic meeting focused on strengthening the party’s structure and deepening grassroots engagement ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The discussions centred on a simple but important objective: building a united, formidable and people-driven political structure capable of delivering the NDC and its candidates at the polls.

From H.E Peter Obi at the presidential level to Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs for Governor and other candidates of the party, the commitment to building a strong electoral force across the various levels remains unmistakable.

But beyond structures and numbers is something even more important: the people.

Engr. Akari used the opportunity to engage with constituents and stakeholders, listening to their concerns and reaffirming his commitment to effective representation, inclusive legislation, grassroots development and a legislature that genuinely reflects the aspirations of the people of Abua/Odual.

For Abua/Odual, representation must be more than occupying a seat. It must be about having a voice, creating opportunities, attracting development and ensuring that the interests of our people are firmly represented.

A CONVERSATION ABOUT REPRESENTATION IN ABUA/ODUAL

For years, the people of Abua/Odual have continued to express legitimate concerns about the quality of representation and the development challenges confronting our communities.

From inadequate electricity supply and deplorable road networks to challenges in our schools, healthcare facilities, youth employment and community security, women empowerment, agricultural investments, these are issues that deserve sustained attention, constructive engagement and effective representation at the state level.

The question before our people is therefore not merely about political positions. It is about who is prepared to listen, understand these realities and provide a strong voice for the interests of Abua/Odual.

It is against this backdrop that the leadership qualities, professional experience and community-focused outlook of Engr. Akari Emughkuingo have continued to attract attention among people who believe that a fresh perspective can contribute meaningfully to the conversation about the future of our constituency.

The aspiration should be simple: better representation, stronger advocacy, greater accountability and measurable development for Abua/Odual.

THE RESULTS ARE OUT. THE MANDATE IS OURS.

On the 29th of May, 2026, the people of Abua-Odual/Ahoada East spoke. Clearly. Decisively. Across both local government areas.

In Abua/Odual , Returning Officer: Linda Nyememe Wali

Godsgift ThankGod Akari: 279 votes
Opposing aspirant: 0 votes

In Ahoada East , Returning Officers:
Mrs. Shelly Adda & Balafama Tuboinengi

Godsgift ThankGod Akari: 310 votes
Opposing aspirant: 299 votes

Constituency total: 589 votes to 299.

We won in Abua/Odual. We won in Ahoada East. We won the constituency. The returning officers are witnesses. The result sheets are attached. The evidence is undeniable.

Yet our mandate is being withheld.

I want those who are doing this to know one thing: the Supreme Court of Nigeria has already answered the question they think they are asking.

In Amaechi v. INEC (2008) 5 NWLR (Pt. 1080) 227, the Supreme Court held that the winner of a party primary cannot be substituted, cannot be ignored, and cannot be erased. In the words of the Court ,a person who did not win the primary is, in the eyes of the law, never a candidate at all.

To my people of Abua/Odual and Ahoada East to every delegate who stood firm on that day, every supporter who drove through broken roads to cast a vote, every woman, every youth, every elder who believed in this movement:

Thank you. From the depth of my heart, thank you.

Your votes are not lost. Your voices have not been silenced. What was given to us by the people cannot be taken by any individual, any committee, or any conspiracy.

We have filed our petition. Our legal team is on standby. We are pursuing this through every legitimate channel available to us , party, constitutional, and judicial. We will go to any length, through any door the law provides, to reclaim what the people of this constituency freely gave us on the 29th of May.

The mandate is ours. We will get it back.

The journey continues.

A major step has been taken.

Frontline House of Representatives aspirant for Abua-Odual/Ahoada East Federal Constituency, Engr. Akari Thankgod Godsgift has officially obtained his Expression of Interest Form under the Nigeria Democratic Congress

According to Engr. Akari, this journey was born from the pain and neglect suffered by the people. From abandoned healthcare facilities like Emelego Hospital, to collapsed classrooms in communities such as Otapha, Agada, and Emughan, and roads left unattended for decades.

“This is not just politics. This is about giving our people the representation they truly deserve,” he stated.

This is a strong signal of every youth, woman, man and child who's determined to change the narrative in Abua-Odual/Ahoada East. A support for Akari is a support for competence, compassion and effective representation.
