ARE WE PREPARING OUR CHILDREN FOR THE FUTURE OF ENERGY? ⚡🌍

Let’s be honest for a moment.

We tell our children to read hard.
We tell them to pass exams.
We tell them to choose good careers.

But let me ask you a deeper question…

Are we preparing them for the world they are about to enter?

A world driven by:

• Energy
• Technology
• Sustainability
• Global competition
• Innovation

Because whether we like it or not…

Energy is shaping the future.

From electricity in our homes…
To fuel in our cars…
To global decisions that affect economies…

Energy is no longer just a subject.
It is a life skill.

And the truth is this:

Many children are growing up in an energy-rich nation, yet they do not understand how energy works.

That gap is what we must begin to close.

This is why something interesting is happening quietly…

Young minds are beginning to think differently.
To ask questions.
To solve problems.
To see energy not just as fuel… but as opportunity.

Some of these young people are already stepping into spaces where:

✨ Confidence is being built
✨ Solutions are being imagined

Let me just say this…

Stars are not born by chance. They are built by exposure, learning and opportunity.

This morning, I woke up with a deep question on my mind… you see eeh the SHE FIX 🔧IT 2.0 event by NNPC RETAIL I attended last week made me have sleepless night and so I put on my thinking cap when I woke up

The question is 👉What is truly best for African students in the energy space?

And the answer came clearly:

It’s not just about learning.

It’s about sustainability.
It’s about relevance.
It’s about what actually works for our environment, our communities, and our future.

Because let’s be honest…

What’s the point of teaching energy concepts that don’t translate into real-life solutions for our children?
What’s the point of knowledge that cannot be applied in the very communities these students live in?

Africa is unique.
Our challenges are unique.
And so, our approach to energy education must also be intentionally African, practical, and solution-driven.

At Ologed initiative , we are asking bigger questions:

Can students solve energy problems, not just define them?
Can they 🧌build, 🎣innovate, and 🏵adapt using what they learn?
Can energy education prepare them for the realities of energy poverty, climate change, and sustainability in Africa?

That is why this school term…

🔥 We are restructuring. And we are restructuring intentionally.

⚡ If your child can use electricity… they should know how to save it. 💡

In today’s world, teaching children how to use energy wisely is just as important as teaching maths or reading.

The good news?
It starts with simple daily habits 👇

👧🧑 Teach your child these easy energy-saving actions:

💡 Switch off lights when leaving a room
🔌 Unplug chargers when not in use
📺 Turn off TV & devices instead of leaving them on standby
🌞 Use natural light during the day
❄️ Close doors/windows when using AC or fan
🧺 Iron clothes in batches to save power
🔋 Charge devices only when needed
🚿 Use water wisely (pumping uses electricity too!)

🌍 These small actions may look simple…
But they are raising responsible, energy-conscious children who understand how the world works.

At Ologed initiative , we believe:

My heart is FULL of gratitude to the amazing women of the Women in Energy Oil & Gas (WEOG)for giving me such a powerful platform to attend and showcase my books and my work in Montessori-based energy education at the incredible She Fix 2.0, organized by NNPC Retail right here in Abuja on April 18th 2026.

Honestly, na privilege wey I no take lightly at all 🙏

To our trailblazer, the pioneer National President, Dr. Oladunni Owo , thank you for laying the solid foundation wey all of us dey stand on today. Your vision no be here!

And to our present National President, Engr. Tolulope Longe , chai! Leadership sweet when person sabi am like this. This woman and understanding na 5 & 6! 🙌 You dey carry everybody along with grace and strength.

Today is Monday… and yes, it’s believed to be Easter Monday.

Interestingly, I didn’t post anything yesterday.

Not because I forgot…
But because I was actually reflecting.

Reflecting on the origin of Easter and its true relevance beyond the celebration, beyond the pictures, beyond the routine posts.

And one truth stood out clearly to me:

We cannot deny the resurrection of Jesus Christ

Whether viewed spiritually, historically, or symbolically, the message remains powerful , that life can rise again, that hope is never lost, and that what seems finished can begin again.

And honestly… that is worth celebrating.

So yes, I may have missed Sunday 😄
But we are still celebrating today.
