"Oh God help me!"i said aloud as Enola came over and patted me on my shoulders
"Its gon' be fine Jada...trust me"
"I hope so" I Replied
I was already burning in anger...i couldnt work with Carl! No! If only Enola could just join us..
WAIT.....
"Enola...."
"Jada"
"Uhmm...you were not in school when we were shared for the project right?"
"Yeah...."
"So it means you are not in any group,am i not correct?"
"Where are you heading to with this?" She asked confused
"Are you in any group,yes or no!"
"No..."she replied."what are you thinking?"
"You could join my group!yes!"
"You know the teacher would have to be aware of this right?"
She said and sat down
"Ill talk to him,ill convince him...please dont say no...please!" I begged
She said nothing....she was thinking about it...she had sworn not to have anything at all to do with carl or any of his friends,not after what larry did to her in the schools hallway.....im sure that was the reason why she is always shy when talking to others....
"You know I dont want to relate with carl or any of his friends right?"she said nervously...
"I know Enola,neither do i! But if i am left with carl alone,i might do something that will affect my future,something i would live to regret"
"But why do u hate carl so much?"
I dont want to talk about it Enola"
"Why?"
"I dont want to!"i screamed this time,making every one in the cafeteria turn towards my direction....she sighed and patted my shoulder
"Its okay swii....its fine....ill join your group if the physics teacher agrees to it"she said smiling.....
Now that was exactly what i wanted to hear..
"Thank you"i said,hugging her..
"No qualms Jada...thats what best friends do for each other"she replied and smiled at me...

*Friday,10:30AM..*
It was lunch already.....it seemed like the English teacher was ready to sleep in the class..and the lesson was damn boring!! I was on my way o the cafeteria to meet Enola when I bumped into Isabelle.we both hit each others head against each other and winced at the same time..
"Owwww!!" We both said and started laughing
"Hi Jada" she said smiling
"Hi"
"Its been so long since we spoke"she said,hugging me tightly"you stopped talking to me ever since Car...."her voice trailed off...
"I'm not angry at you Isabelle....neither I'm i avoiding you...you are my friend,and you will always be...I was just trying to digest the news...that one of my closest friends is dating one of my worst enemies...."
"But why do you hate him so much??he is a nice,caring,loving......"her voice trailed off as I glared at her
"M sorry" she apologized.."but why do you hate him so much??"
"I'on wanna talk about it..."
"Okay....but you know that you two have to work together for the physics project,right??"
I sighed...."yes I know Isabelle"
"Then how are you gonna do it if you two are enemies?you can't chanhe or switch partners,you know that right??"
"I wish I could..."
"Jada....I know this is hard...but you have to let go of the past...for now. For the period of time you are to work with Carl..please...your grades are most important...you would like to get an F,would you??"
"No....and that's why I have decided to work with him,and put the differences I have with him aside"I said and sighed deeply...
"That's good..."she said and smiled.."You should try talking to him"
"Urrgghhhhhhhh!!!" I groaned..."I will do that.."I said with gritted teeth..
"Thats better" she said smiling again..."we would talk later.." She said,running off..

~✨MR PARKER'S POV✨~

*6:30PM*
"If I don't find my daughter,I'll kill you!!" I yelled.."You cant do anything Leonardo!!" Tamara yelled back..
Enola wasn't back from school,and I was worried...she came back from school early on Thursdays,but she wasn't back yet.I barged out of the the house in search of her,hoping to find her..I knew she wasn't back because of what happened in the morning..I didnt even know any of her friends!!
Then an idea struck;Mrs Warren! I could call to find out if she was at school at all...Enola's line wasn't even going through!
I was about calling Mrs Warren when an unknown line called..
What if Enola was kidnapped?! was it the kidnappers that were calling??
I summoned the courage and picked the call
"Hello"I said trying to hide the shaking in my voice ....
"Dad"Enola's voice sprung out of the phone..
"Enola! Where are you?! I have been worried sick! Why ate you using another number to call me? What of your phone?! What happened to it?!"
I bombarded her with questions...

~💖ENOLA'S POV💖~
"One question at a time!" I said o dad who bombarded me with questions "I'm fine dad,no need to worry..."
"Just tell me where you are" my dad half yelled
"I can't,.."I said playing with the hem of my dress with my free hand..
"Why?? Where are you?!" He said this time yelling..
"M not telling" I said calmly..for a while he kept quiet...I knew what he was doing
"And you can't trace the number...you won't be able to track the phone,so dont bother" I said smirking...then I heard his voice again,he was sounding frustrated this time around
"My love,just tell daddy where you are,lemme come over to pick you"
"I can't dad,I'm sorry"
"Why?"
I began to explain everything to him I details,and then he sighed....
"Okay...since thats what you want,its fine"
"I can stay?!"I asked half yelling
"Nor like I have a choice" he said and sighed....
"Eeeeeeeeeeee!! Thanks dad!!" I shouted out of excitement
"I'm really gonna mis you"
"Okay..dont miss me too much..I'll come to see you at the factory on Saturday..."
"I would be waiting for you my love" he said calmly..
"I love you dad"I said in between smiles..
"I love you too my baby..please take good care of yourself"
"I will...bye"
" bye love.." He said and I cut the call

I sat on Jada's bed,looking around...
It was actually the first Time I entered her room,ever since I started visiting her house
"You have a nice bedroom"I said,complementing her."awwn! Thanks....it's ours now"she replied,smiling...
I stood up to look at one of the paintings on the wall....."its really beautiful Jada" I said....
"Its my latest"she said handing over a pair of joggers and a large top to me...
"I can see that.....the date on it"
"Yeah"
"Wow! You're really improving you know"
"I learnt it from you"she said smiling and suddenly frowned..."I just don't know why u stopped painting"
"I had to!my mom was already accusing me of covering her house in paint!! have you forgotten?"
"Yeah,I remember"
"Exactly"
"Ughhhh!she disgusts me!"Jada said with so much hatred on her face..
I looked at her...I wanted to just tell her to stop feeling that way towards my mom,but then she was right!..my moms character is disgusting..I was feeling bad...
"Oh my God!"Jada shouted
"What is it?" I asked,confused....
"Argghh!!!this is so annoying!"she said already crying..
"Why are you crying now??" I asked getting worried..
The physics teacher grouped students for the physics project which is supposed to be submitted in two weeks time"
"Yeah,so?"
"I was grouped with C.J!!"
"OH GOD!" I said shocked..."C.J?!"
"Yes"
"But you two don't get along!"
"I know"she said before bursting into tears again..."I can't stand him Enola,I can't! Seeing his face along angers me!!"
"What actually happened between the both of you?"I asked being curious already
"I don't wanna talk about it"she said and sniffed
"Okay"
"Yeah"
"But you don't wanna fail physics do you??"
"No"she said,sniffing again
"Then you two have to put each other's differences aside and work together"
"for at least two weeks..."she said looking frustrated...
"Aww!come on!the scores is the most important!"
She bounced on the bed and placed the pillow on her head,squeezing it.I couldn't hep but laugh...

I stood up to change...her room was larger than mine...I was already home though,my siblings...but I had to stay away,I don't want my mom killingme before getting back to her right senses...
My dad...he would be worried by now...
I have to call him.....

"Okay,lemme put it this way....you both dislike each other...how are the both of you gonna work together?!"
"I don't know...I might not be that intelligent,but I can't get an F"
You've never gotten an F before?"she asked...
"Not even a D...the lowest,C-,Highest;B"
"So what are you gonna do right now?"
"I dont know"I replied"but I've gotta try talking to her,maybe we could put our differences aside and work on the project...an ' F ' ain't gonna look good on my result....my mom's gonna kill me,she's gonna be so disappointed"I said,worried....
"Calm down!don't be worried"she said patting me on the back.....
"It's gon' be alright just try talking to her first"...she said smiling....

Gosh!what would I do without her?
She was always there for me.....

The bell rang and everyone walked out of the class.I just kept on getting attention anywhere I went to,the girls shouting my name any giggling.....it felt good at some point,but today it only angered me..
"Carl Jordan,you are with Jada lester for the physics project"
The physics teacher said...
"What??!!"we both screamed before the bell rang...
Jada and I have been rivals for years now...we never got along....well,I don't hate her,neither do I like her either...we always tried to avoid each other....gotten an in school suspension because of her 4 times,and now I had to work with her for one of the most biggest class projects of the semester!!
If I talked this,I would get an F...I have never gotten an F before!!...
Just then,Isabelle walked up to me...
"Hey baby"she said and smiled....
Gosh! It was funny how the faces of every single girl in the cafeteria changed.I wanted to laugh but I held myself
"Hey"I replied..
Isabelle is actually my girlfriend...to be sincere,I have actually lost count of every single girl I have dated😅....its funny to say but its true...my relationships never lasted more than a week...com'on! The school was filled with beautiful girls...it was hard to choose.
I didnt just date anybody though...I was careful with whoever I dated...but I never actually had feelings for any of them,not until i met Isabelle...
She was actually the first girl I ever actually had feelings for.it angered a lot of girls in the school because it was almost two weeks since we started dating...and they were all dating for us to break up..but it was impossible to leave Isabelle!!she was soooo beautiful,nice,matured...she was everything I ever wanted in a girl..I was damn ready to stay with her for life...well...maybe..I wasn't sure yet..
"How are you?..you don't look good...what's wrong?"she asked,looking intensely into my eyes
"I'm fine"
"You're not C.J"
"Well,its just a slight issue that I..."
"What's that?"she asked,interrupting me..
"Its nothing"
"You can tell me,you know.."
"Uhmm...I was paired with Jada for my physics project".....

I fell into an uneasy sleep......I just kept on waking up and drifting back into sleep when someone je**ed me.......Jada....
"Enola!oh gosh!"
I turned and saw tears dropping from her eyes
"I'm fine"
"You dont look okay!"
I couldn't say anything.....I felt dumb.....my arms and legs weak.....
"I'm gon' take you to my house,you ain't going back home...you look horrible!!!"
"I don't want to"I said..
"You ain't going back....I'll talk to my mom.....you can stay for as long as you wish to"
She said,wiping the tears away from her eyes....
"Let's go"
I felt relieved.....I wasn't gonna see her till I wanted to...till I felt like....till I was brave enough.....
But my dad😰....oh well....I'll call him to tell him about it......

"This is despicable!!....what if you had gotten injured in the process?!" Jada's mom yelled
"I think the child services need to hear this"she said as she picked up her phone...
"NO!"
"Enola"jada called"they need to hear it"
"I don't want them involved"
"Why?"Jada's mom asked
"I still love my mom....they'll separate me from her"
"Thats the same thing she's been saying for the past 3 years mom"Jada said to her mom in disgust......
"Awwww....u love your mom so much that you don't want to be away from her....but she ain't treating you rightly...."Jada's mom said
"I think I'll stay away from her for a little bit....maybe she'll come back to her senses"
"Hmmmm"
"Yeah" I replied.....
"Okay then...you can stay here for as long as you want to...as far as you are safe,its fine by me"Jada's mom smiled and patted me on the back..
"Thanks a lot ma'am"
"You are welcome...consider here as your second home...okay??"
"Okay"I said and smiled....
"Eeeeeeeeeeeee!!!"Jada screamed with joy
"Sooo,I'll take you to your room ......no no no,you're staying in my room with me"she said showing all her pearly whites
I laughed....its been so long since I laughed....
"But I didnt come along with any clothes"
"Don't worry,u'll get you some tomorrow morning"Jada's mom said from the kitchen.
"In the mean time...I have clothes of your size"Jada said,smiling again
"Thanks....I really appreciate"
"No qualms....its the least I could do as a best friend"

"And you too enola....let's go upstairs,we have a lot to talk about"Jada said and dragged me along with her.....

I woke up feeling headache....it must have been an effect of the slap my mom gave me the night before....
I groaned an pain and tried to stand up...then all of a sudden she barged in....

I tried greeting her but the she interrupted me with a slap on my face.....
" how many times do I have to tell you to wake up on time and get your siblings ready for school?hunhh??......you didnt clean the dishes last night,and just take a look at the time you are waking up!
Get up from that bed right now!!you are making breakfast!!"
"But mom!"
"If I hear a single word from you again,I'ma slap that wretched face of yours again!"
I couldn't help but weep.....

I'm Enola Parker,15 years going to 16 in four months....still In High school.....my second to the last year in high school tho....
I have lived a life of sorrow and pain almost all my life....well,since I was 5...
In school.....I uad no friends....I was known as a loner... Always bullied and insulted...not until Jada moved into town...
She was the only one who understood me,so I took her as a best friend...
She never allowed anyone bully me or insult me....
My dad,Leonardo Parker....
He tried his best to take me out of that lonely life.....always took me to the factory where he works whenever it was holidays,so that I won't have to feel lonely....
He isnt bad at all...always takes care of me and treats me well whenever he is at home...
Always consoles me whenever my mom acted that way....
I was always wondering why he never tried to stop her and whenever I asked him about it,he never actually gave me a clear reply.....
"You would understand son my lovely enola"..he would always say....I enjoyed following him to the milk factory....at least it took worry and pain away from me.....
My mom....Tamara Parker is a museum curator...
Goes to work four times a week....the remaining days seemed like hell for me

As soon as I was done preparing breakfast,I served it on the dining and hurried to go take my bath...it was 7:15am already....
I rushed down the stairs only to bump into my mom..
"I'm sor......"
I was interrupted by a slap that landede on the ground...
"You wanna injure me right?"
"I said I'm sorr...."
"Keep your sorry to yourself"
"Why do you hate me so much??hunhh??!why?!" I blurted out,crying....

I slammed the door behind me.....my fists clenched.....I walked briskly....."stay calm.....stay calm enola...stay calm...." I said to my self repeatedly...
Tear formed in my eyes....
I wanted to cry so badly...
"No one would ever love you enola! No one!!"
These words which my mum spoke rang into my ears......
I was wondering if truly she was my mom.....
My own mom telling me that I would never be loved.......
And my dad just stood there...saying nothing...
Absolutely nothing!!

I took my phone out of my pocket and dialed a number.....

It rang and rang.....

It ended.....

I kept on walking till I found a lonely corner.....I looked at my watch.....
It was already past 8:30am...
I was already late for school...

I just walked into the corner,sat down and cried everything out.....
That was the only thing I could do.......
Cry....
Then my phone rang......
It was Jada....

✆:" hello"
✆: "Enola! Where are you??aren't you coming to school today??
We have A test remember??"
✆:"I can't make it to school today"
✆:"why??" She asked
✆:"I had an issue with my mom again today"
✆"oh jeez!"she muttered"where are you....I know you are not at home.....are you??"
✆:"no"
✆:" then where are you??"
✆ I found a lonely spot at my street......4 blocks away from my house.....I'm just not in the right frame of mind to write a test..."
✆:"I wish I could come over"
✆:"you cant"
✆:"I know"her voice breaking...."I hope you are fine??"
✆:"yeah....I'm good....I just need you to cover up for me in school.....tell Mrs Warren that I'm I'll....I just hope she doesn't call my parents..."

I said as I cut the call....

I squeezed myself beside the dumpster there....hidden from everyone passing the street....
