🇳🇬 FROM CHIBOK TO TODAY: HOW MANY MORE CHILDREN MUST SUFFER? 🇳🇬
On 14 April 2014, Nigeria woke up to the heartbreaking news of the abduction of 276 schoolgirls from Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State.
Many Nigerians believed it was a tragedy that would never happen again.
Yet, since Chibok, our nation has witnessed repeated attacks on schools and the abduction of thousands of students across Borno, Yobe, Katsina, Niger, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kebbi, and even parts of Southern Nigeria.

📍 Dapchi, Yobe (2018) – 110 girls abducted
📍 Kankara, Katsina (2020) – 344 boys abducted
📍 Kagara, Niger (2021) – 42 students and staff abducted
📍 Jangebe, Zamfara (2021) – 279 girls abducted
📍 Afaka, Kaduna (2021) – 39 students abducted
📍 Greenfield University, Kaduna (2021) – 23 students abducted
📍 Tegina, Niger (2021) – 136 pupils abducted
📍 Birnin Yauri, Kebbi (2021) – 80 students abducted
📍 Bethel Baptist High School, Kaduna (2021) – over 120 students abducted
📍 Kuriga, Kaduna (2024) – about 287 pupils and staff abducted
Behind every statistic is a child whose dreams were interrupted, a parent living in fear, and a community left traumatized.
Education should never be a death sentence.
Schools should be places of learning, hope, and opportunity—not targets for criminals and terrorists.
Today, we raise our voices and say:
🛑 ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
🛑 SCHOOLS ARE NOT BATTLEFIELDS!
🛑 OUR CHILDREN DESERVE SAFETY!
We call on government at all levels, security agencies, civil society organizations, traditional institutions, religious leaders, and every concerned Nigerian to unite in protecting our schools and securing the future of our children.
A nation that cannot protect its children cannot secure its future.
