*Shehu* is a Hausa/Arabic name with a very respected meaning 👑

*Meaning*
*Shehu* comes from the Arabic word *"Sheikh / Shaykh"* شَيْخ
It means:
*"Elder", "Chief", "Leader", "Scholar", "Wise man", "Religious leader"*

In Hausa and Kanuri culture, it’s used as both a title and a first name.

*How it’s used*
1. *As a title*: The Emir of Borno is called *"Shehu of Borno"*. It’s the highest traditional + religious leadership title there.
2. *As a name*: Parents give it to boys hoping they’ll grow to be wise, respected leaders with good character and knowledge.
3. *Famous example*: *Usman dan Fodio* was called *Shehu Usman dan Fodio* - the great Islamic scholar and founder of the Sokoto Caliphate.
