With all the experience gathered over the years, the risk and danger of our trade, I am grateful for the gift of life, every mistake, every adventure in this game of life has taught me to live everyday immersing myself in humility knowing fully well that there are Operators, brothers, friends and fathers who are better than me in every way, yet they are not alive today, I celebrate my birthday with a grateful heart, the only reason this is possible is because of the grace of God.

The IGP paid tribute to the SIS-10, the Police Elite Operatives that paid the ultimate price defending Makuku village in Kebbi, it was an emotional ceremony, the families of the heroes were in attendance, this is a moral booster for the Operatives still in the field, they now know that their sacrifices will never go in vain, they will be recognised

TO MY 10 BROTHERS WHO FELL IN COMBAT

You died fighting—shoulder to shoulder, in an all-round defensive formation, refusing to abandon one another.

People may ask why you fell so close together.
One for all. All for one. Either we all go home, or we don’t go home.

I shed tears when I heard that my brothers had fallen, but those tears were also tears of pride. Pride in knowing that I served alongside some of the bravest warriors I have ever known.
You fought until your last breath. You gave the enemy hell. You may have fallen, but you died undefeated.

Your fight did not end with your sacrifice. We will carry the torch from where you stopped.
Rest in honour, my brothers. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.
