Present and Former Kogi East Rep Members Sue for Igala Unity in a Landmark National Assembly Meeting

…pledge total support for women and youths

In a significant display of political solidarity, present and former members of the House of Representatives from Kogi East Senatorial District have convened a strategic meeting at the National Assembly to chart a united path for the development and unity of Igala land.

The meeting, which held at the office of the Deputy Majority Leader (Reps), brought together Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims Ibrahim Halims, Hon. David Idris Zacharias, and distinguished predecessors, including Sen. Ali Attai Aidoko, Hon. Frank Ineke, Hon. J.J. Napoleon Idachaba, Rt. Hon. Ismail Inah Hussain, Hon. Dr. Emmanuel M. Egwu, Hon. Hassan Abudullahi Baiwa, Hon. Benjamin Ikani Okolo, Tom Zekeri, and Hon. Samson Positive Ihiabe.

The partnership aims to prioritizing infrastructural development, women-youth empowerments, and agricultural growth as key drivers of economic prosperity across the broader Igala nation noting the need to erase existing issues majorly caused by political differences and forgive each other.

Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Abudullahi Ibrahim Halims stated that their commitment is to support the unity and fast-track development across Kogi East as well as Kogi state at large while emphasizing that service to the people must remain above political differences.

According to him, political differences should not become a barrier to collaboration when the welfare and development of the people are at stake.

He stressed that the responsibility of public office holders extends beyond political party lines, urging leaders and stakeholders to embrace cooperation in the interest of present and future generations.

Similarly, Sen. Ali Attai Aidoko said, “our resolve is to put the people first by working together across political divides to advance sustainable development and lasting progress for the entire Igala land," He stated.

The meeting ended on a note of renewed commitment to unity, with participants agreeing that the development of Igala land requires a collective effort that transcends political affiliations and individual interests.

They expressed appreciation to the entire people of Kogi East Senatorial District, and Kogi State for their continued support and confidence in their leadership over the years and pledging their unalloyed support for the development of the entire Igala nation.

Today, I stood with His Royal Highness Khalifa Muhammed Sanusi Lamido at the National Citizens Stakeholders Engagement with one clear message: Our Security, Our Duty.

We must be honest. The hunger and hardship in our villages are caused by bandits and gunmen who have made farming nearly impossible. But there is hope because President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken bold steps to fix our numerous problems across the country.

The removal of oil subsidy saved Nigeria from collapse. Billions are now going into fertilizers and farm inputs for our farmers. On security, Mr. President has approved the National Forest Guards, the creation of state police is in progress, and the Nigerian Army is expanding with four new divisions.

The massive infrastructure development happening nationwide tells me one thing: better days are here. The suffering will soon be history.

I thank His Royal Highness and the Project 774 Network for championing this cause. Let us keep standing with our troops. Victory belongs to all of us.

Together, we are building a stronger, more united Kogi.

Just wrapped up a very important oversight visit today with my committee on Safety Standards and Regulations. We started at the Federal Fire Service headquarters to assess their operational readiness and challenges. Then we moved to the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, to check their safety compliance and emergency preparedness.

We will continue to ensure that safety standards across the country are not just on paper but strictly enforced. Protecting lives and property remains a top priority.
