*TOPIC: PRESERVED BY THE BLESSING.*
SCRIPTURE: Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. JOB 1:10.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Blessing of God causes God to move directly into action where necessary for the defence of the blessed.
It is established throughout Scripture that the Blessing of God preserves the lives of the blessed. The Blessing of God guarantees the preservation of the blessed. And that is because anywhere there is Divine treasure, there is Divine security.
Treasure naturally attracts security. For example, the Central Bank of any country is adequately secured because of the deposits of treasurable and valuable assets. Anyone going there to steal money is on a su***de mission. How much more where there is Divine investment or treasure? Anyone who carries Divine Blessing is under heavy Divine security.
In the Scripture, the covenant fathers – Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, were preserved, protected, and defended by the Blessing of God on their lives. They were not victims of cheap wastage by the devil. The forces of hell could not destroy them. They were not wastable materials.
The question is, how does the Blessing of God preserve the blessed?
In our study today, we shall be looking at one of the ways the Blessing of God preserves: The Blessing of God causes God to move directly into action where necessary for the defence of the blessed.
Genesis 20:3 says, And Abraham journeyed from thence toward the south country, and dwelled between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned in Gerar. And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife.
In essence, God was saying, “You are not about to die, Abimelech; you have already died. You are hearing my Voice from the other side of life. But I will give you a second chance to wake up and apologize to Abraham. So, when you wake up in the morning, realise that you have got another chance to live.”
That is how God moves. God did the same to Laban on the matter of Jacob. In Genesis 31:24, the Bible says, And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
God told Laban, “Don't say anything to Jacob either good or bad. Leave him alone; leave him in his lane.”
Beloved, is God more at work then than now? No! He is the same yesterday, today and forever (SCRIPTUTRE). He said, “I am the Lord, I change not. Therefore, you sons of Jacob are not consumed” (Malachi 3:6). God is still at work; we have seen diverse proofs that confirm that God is still at work.
After our crusade in the Philippines, we are still receiving testimonies of the strange acts of God from the impact of the crusade. A man who had been insane for 30 years had his sanity restored in the crusade. After the crusade, he went to church the following Sunday for the first time in 30 years, dressed as a normal human being.
The mayors of other cities, outside the cities we went for crusade, went to church for the first time after the crusade as they heard of the great wonders of God in that crusade. There is revival fire everywhere in the Philippines – pastors, ministers, churches, are all on fire evangelizing, doing all manner of exploits for God. Imagine that! One week meeting set a whole nation on fire.
Beloved, we are serving the same God who is still working today as He worked yesterday in Bible days.
Beloved, today, that Blessing that guarantees Divine Defence shall be real in your life, in Jesus’ Name!
Remember this: The Blessing of God causes God to move directly into action where necessary for the defence of the blessed.

1. Trust God to consistently maintain covenant practices for the sustenance of the Blessing.
2. Pick up message series on Blessing by Dr Paul Enenche.
3. Make demands on God for His Blessing in your life; and refuse to fear when the Blessing is on you.
PRAYER: Lord, thank You for Your Hand of Blessing upon my life. I am too defended to be defeated by the enemy, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
