EKITI NSCDC, MINISTRY OF HEALTH PARTNER TO STRENGTHEN MALARIA ELIMINATION CAMPAIGN.

The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti State Command, Commandant Toma Matthew Enya, has reaffirmed the Command's commitment to supporting efforts aimed at eliminating malaria in the state.

Commandant Enya gave the assurance when he received the Programme Manager of the Malaria Elimination Programme, Ekiti State Ministry of Health, Dr. Folu Ekundare, during a courtesy and advocacy visit to the Command Headquarters in Ado-Ekiti.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Ekundare explained that the purpose of the meeting was to seek collaboration with the NSCDC in the implementation of activities designed to eliminate mosquito larvae before they develop into adult mosquitoes, the primary vectors responsible for transmitting malaria.

He noted that the malaria elimination campaign would be carried out in selected local government areas across Ekiti State and stressed the importance of inter-agency collaboration in ensuring the success of the programme.

Dr. Ekundare appealed to the NSCDC to provide the necessary support and partnership to facilitate smooth operations during the exercise, expressing confidence that the Corps' presence and community engagement would contribute significantly to achieving the programme's objectives.

In his response, Commandant Enya expressed appreciation to the Programme Manager for the visit and commended the Ministry of Health for its sustained efforts in combating malaria in the state.
He pledged the full support and cooperation of the NSCDC, assuring that the Command would work closely with the Ministry of Health to promote the success of the malaria elimination programme in the interest of public health and the well-being of residents of Ekiti State.

The visit underscores the importance of strategic collaboration among government agencies in tackling public health challenges and advancing malaria prevention initiatives across the state.

EKITI NSCDC COMMANDANT JOINS GSK CAMPAIGN AGAINST CHILD ABUSE.

The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti State Command, has partnered with the Global Support for Kids Initiative (GSK), a non-governmental organisation, to strengthen the fight against child abuse in the state.

The event was held at David Oke Model Secondary School, Ado Ekiti, bringing together students, teachers, and community stakeholders to raise awareness on child protection and reporting mechanisms.

Speaking at the event, Commandant Toma Enya emphasized the Corps’ commitment to safeguarding children and called for collective action to end all forms of abuse. He noted that schools are critical spaces for early detection and intervention, urging students to speak up and adults to act responsibly when they suspect abuse.

“We have a duty to be involved at all levels as the future of these children are in our hands to do the right things at all times" he said.

Mr Soleye Akingbade, who represented GSK highlighted the importance of sensitisation on the dangers of child abuse in our communities and called for parents and guardians to be alive to their responsibilities.

The Event was characterised by talks, interactive sessions and distribution of sensitisation materials to students.

The partnership is a testimony to NSCDC's resolve to continue protecting the rights of the vulnerable in the society.

EKITI NSCDC ORGANISES CNAI STAKEHOLDERS WORKSHOP ON OPTIC FIBRE PROTECTION

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Ekiti State Command has organised a one day stakeholders workshop on the protection of optic fibre cables in the state.

The workshop which became important as a result of increase in destruction of optic fibre cables which has been hindering good telecommunication signals crippling the speed of internet and other wire connection in the country.

The Workshop organised by Critical National Assets and Infrastructure Protection Department was held at the Command's headquarters in Ekiti state with relevant stakeholders present at the workshop to educate the people, traditional institutions and network providers on the need to safeguard optic fibre cables in the state.

Present at the workshop were the Chairman Ekiti State Council of Obas His Royal Majesty Oba Adejimi Adu, the Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti ably represented by Owa of Iro Ayeteju Ekiti HRH Oba Ajayi GSO who spoke on the need to for traditional institutions to educate the people in their domains and constitute protection group for the purpose of early warning signals and that of protection of Critical National Asset and Infrastructure.

The State Commissioners for Works, Environment and Infrastructure were represented during the workshop with a call from them on the for Communication handlers to inform the ministries on their construction lines that connect optic fibre cables for the purpose of them while speakers from the State Ministry of Justice who represented the State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General Barrister Olatunde Olayemi towed legal provisions available for the prosecution of vandals of optic fibre cables with a call on security agencies to work with the ministry on the prosecution of vandals and other related matters.

The representative of National Communication Commission and Emergency Communication Centre Engr Olawale Semiu stated the reasons why optic fibre cables must be protected. According to him, optic fibre cable destruction is an economic crime as it disrupts economic and social activities by crippling the economy electronically and urged service providers, contractors and traditional instructions to support the Security Agencies in the fight against optic fibre distructions in the state.

Goodwill messages came form the Nigeria Police, Federal Road Safety Corps, MTN Nigeria, IHS and other service providers and stakeholders in the state on the need to assist NSCDC to fight vandalism and other economic crimes in Nigeria and Ekiti State.

The State Commandant Mr Toma Matthew Enya who commended the activities of stakeholders in the state enjoined traditional institutions, service providers, and contractors to work with security agencies in the state to stamp out vandalism and destruction of optic fibre cable.

EKITI NSCDC COMMANDANT LAUDS CG, HOSTS EKITI POLICE COMMISSIONER.

The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) Ekiti State Command Mr. Toma Matthew Enya has distributed essential operational hardware and other materials to officers and men across all departments/units, Area Commands, Divisional Offices and other formations across the state command at the state headquarters Ado/Ikere Road, Ekiti State.

The exercise was designed to enhance tactical and non tactical responsiveness, safety and communication efficiency of officers and men in the field.

This follows an earlier nationwide distribution of the materials and gadgets at the NSCDC national headquarters in Abuja by the Commandant General, Professior Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni OFR.

Distributing the items, Commandant Toma Enya eulogized the Commandant General, for his unwavering commitment to welfare and professionalism in the Corps, he therefore charged his men to ensure proper use of the items by exhibiting the highest standard of discipline and professionalism in the discharge of their duties. 'I want you to see this gesture as a call to more dedication to your duties' he added.

The items distributed are: Communication & Surveillance Gadgets
to improve real-time intelligence gathering/sharing and command-and-control capabilities; encrypted handheld Radios; aerial surveillance drone, body-worn cameras for transparency and evidence gathering during public engagements.night vision goggles, allocated specifically for the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.(CNAI)l and Surveillance Units, tactical & protective gear focusing on the physical safety of operatives.

The list also includes, ballistic/ fragmented Vests and helmets, anti riot masks and shields, fire suits, jack knives , camel bags, canvas shoes, high-grade protection for field officers, fire extinguishers, Uniforms and accoutrements, boots, reflective jackets, stationeries, tablet computers, and some textbooks for the Library.

The distribution of these operational gadgets marks a significant step in the professionalization of the Corps. By equipping our officers with modern tools, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps is better positioned to respond to evolving security threats while maintaining the safety of its personnel.

In another news, Commandant Toma Enya has played host to the newly posted Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, Mr. Falade Adegoroye Michael at his office.

While delivering his address, Mr Falade lauded the existing synergy between the two organisations and prayed for its sustenance for optimum service delivery to the people of Ekiti State.

Responding, Mr Toma Enya thanked the Commissioner and his team for the visit and expressed his readiness to continue to collaborate with the Nigeria Police to rid Ekiti State of all forms of criminalities.

The two helmsmen therefore resolved to continue to work together to combat security challenges in the state.

COMMANDANT TOMA PROCTORS UTME 2026 IN EKITI STATE

EKiti State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Mr Toma Matthew Enya has visited accredited Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination Centres in Ado EKITI and other locations within the state.

The visitation according to the Commandant became important to make sure that all the strategies and tact put together by the command to ensure adequate security for the students, officials of the examination body and that of the accredited centres were maintained without any infiltration that can disrupt the conduct of the examination in the state.

The State Commandant who visited Ajayi Polythenic centre, Phoenix centre and other centres in Ado Ekiti commended Joint Admission and Matriculation Board for a job well done with the structures and plans put together by the Board for this year' s UTME examination with an assurance that the Corps is always ready to support the Examination Body in their quest to stamp out examination malpractices and other act capable of undermining the effort of the organisation.

The Commandant entourage had earlier visited Venite University Centre, Matter Christi centre and others where they commended their owners about their security build ups, access control, crowd control and routine checks on the candidates to make sure that their needs to write rhe examinations are met while the security operatives on ground stood firm to deter aggression and other challenges that can disrupt the conduct of the examination.

Commandant Toma who was optimistic that the conduct of the 2026 UTME in the Ekiti state will be a huge success devoid of security breaches, described the synergy between JAMB and NSCDC as robust, developmental and sustainable capable of protecting the properties of JAMB as a Critical National Asset and Infrastructure stakeholder and that of the candidates who are at the various centres in the country to write UTME as a general duty to the populace.

EKITI NSCDC DEPLOYS 1023 PERSONNEL FOR EASTER CELEBRATIONS.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Ekiti State Command (NSCDC) has deployed 1,023 officers and Men to places of worship and other strategic locations across the State to maintain water-tight security and protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure before , during and after Easter celebrations.

The State Commandant Mr Toma Matthew Enya who stated this at his office along Ado Ikere Road, Ekiti State assured Ekiti people of adequate security and prompt response to distress calls that will be provided by the personnel both uniformed and other covert officers at various Churches, places of relaxation as well as identified black spots to prevent possible breakdown of law and order, and to ensure that adequate safety on government and private infrastructure during the Easter festivities.

Commandant Toma Enya also gave assurances of a safe and secured Ekiti as a result of the deployment of tactical and specialized units, like the Counter Terrorism Units, the Armed Squad Unit and the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives Unit to nip any form of crime and criminalities in the bud ensuring that people of Ekiti State can have a joyous Easter celebrations in collaboration with other sister's agency in the state.

He warned that there will be zero tolerance for any persons or groups capable of causing disharmony or breach of peace and that, such will be met by the full wrath of the law and will not be taken lightly.

He congratulated Christians on this year's Easter celebrations and urged Ekiti residents to go about their daily activities without fear from any quarter during the Easter holidays.

EKITI NSCDC CELEBRATES 2026 ICDO DAY.

The Ekiti State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) have rolled out the drums to celebrate this year's International Civil Defense Organization day.

The theme for this year's celebration is 'Managing Environmental Risks for a Resilient and Sustainable Future' emphasizing the intersection of environmental, safety, disaster management and long-term sustainability as espoused by the Commandant General, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni OFR. who earlier flagged off this year's celebration at the national headquarters in Abuja.

Several activities were lined up to celebrate the day. A special jumat service was held at Ado Ekiti Central Mosque where prayers were offered for the Commandant General, the Corps, Ekiti State and the nation.

The programme continued with a sensitization campaign march on major streets of Ado Ekiti, the state capital, focusing on the theme by officers and men while the command's Environmental unit were engaged in sanitation of public spaces as a form of social responsibility and to drive home the theme of the year.

A thanksgiving service was held at the Cathedral Church of Emmanuel, Okesha, Ado Ekiti. Where the state Commandant Mr. Toma Matthew Enya highlighted the significance of the celebration and the importance of protection of critical national assets and infrastructure in the state.

Prayers were offered for the Corps and for peace and progress of the nation.

The celebrations were rounded off with a lecture titled 'Managing Environmental Risks for a Resilient and Sustainable future' at the state Command headquarters, Ado Ikere road Ekiti State. by Deputy Commandant of Corps H. Maha, Head, Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosives. (CBRNE) who diligently dissected the topic and urged officers and men to continue to educate the public on managing environmental risks in the ever-changing world so as to have a sustainable future.

EKITI NSCDC DECORATES 75 NEWLY PROMOTED SENIOR OFFICERS WITH A CALL TO REFLECT THE ELEVATION ON BETTER SERVICE DELIVERY TO THE PEOPLE.

The Ekiti State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) has held the decoration ceremony of senior officers that were promoted in the 2025 senior promotion exercise.

A total number of 75 senior officers were decorated during the ceremony that was held at the premises of the Command Headquarters, along Ado-Ikere road, Ekiti State.

The ceremony was graced by service Chiefs from sister agencies, friends and families of promoted officers.

Delivering the keynote address, the state Commandant, Mr. Toma Matthew Enya, pslc congratulated the newly promoted officers, praised them for their efforts geared towards the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure with a call to them on the need to reflect their elevations on service delivery and other services to the nation.

Mr Toma Enya further charged them to double their efforts by ensuring more commitment, discipline, professionalism and dedication in the discharge of their duties in the overall interest of the Corps and the nation.

In her goodwill message, the Comptroller of Immigration Service, Ekiti State Command, Mrs L U Anatogu congratulated the officers for the well deserved promotion and reiterated the need for them to see their elevation as a call to higher responsibilities in National Service.

Responding, on behalf of the newly decorated officers Deputy Commandant of Corps Adeyeye Samuel Ojo, expressed his appreciation to the management of the Corps and pledged to continue to uphold the highest standard of discipline and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

EKITI NSCDC COMMANDANT HOSTS NEW IMMIGRATION BOSS.

The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti State Command, Mr. Toma Matthew Enya has played host to the newly posted state Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) CIS L U Anatogu at his office along Ado-Ikere road, Ekiti State.

Mrs Anatogu, who came along with her top management team was warmly received and inspected a guard of honour mounted on her arrival. She stated that the visit was to strengthen the existing synergy between the two organizations, emphasized the need for intelligence sharing to curb incidents of crime in the society and pledged her support to the Corps in order continue safeguarding Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.

In this remark, Commandant Toma Matthew Enya welcomed her to Ekiti State, expressed his delight at the visit and pledged his continued support to the Nigeria Immigration Service and to explore areas of common interest in order to deliver on the core mandates of protecting Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.

A commemorative plaque was presented to Mr Toma Enya who expressed pleasure at receiving the gift and reiterated his commitment to a robust collaboration with all security agencies in the state so as to rid the State of crime and criminalities.

EKITI NSCDC COMMANDANT ORDERS DEPLOYMENT OF 1120 PERSONNEL FOR CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS.

Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) Ekiti State Command, Toma Matthew Enya pslc has deployed 1,120 officers and men to ensure adequate security before, during and after Christmas and New Year celebrations.

To ensure a peaceful celebration in the state, Armed and unarmed personnel from Operations department, Armed Squad, Agro Rangers, Female Strike force, CNAI department, Safe School Unit, CBRNE Unit ,Area Commands, Divisions, and LCDAs have been deployed to every nook and cranny of the state.

The Critical National Assets and Infrastructure department will be out to protect electrical installations, telecommunications facilities, transportation and other important private and government installations that are essential to human survival. The Chemical Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives response Unit are also lined up to check illegal usage of fusion and fission that can harm people before during and after the Yuletide.

The Counter Terrorism Unit are to monitor and carryout thorough screening of crowded places to complement officers and men from Intelligence and Investigation department who are on covert surveillance operations to safeguard lives and property.

Other formations outside the state capital are to stand firm and follow the provisional security order sent to them religiously and work in synergy with all para-military and non para -military outfits in their respective areas to make sure that their environment and inhabitants are secured.

Commandant Toma Enya appealed to members of the public to cooperate with security agents by reporting suspicious activities in their areas, He warned that breach of peace and any form of criminality will not be tolerated in the State and assured residents of the state of a peaceful and secured Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The NSCDC boss also wished residents of the state a Merry Christmas and happy new Year celebrations.
