HEARTY FELICITATIONS!!!

I, Hon. Dr. Obi Kelvin Ezenyili, the Executive Chairman of Oshimili South LGA, Asaba, on behalf of the management, Staff and the entire good people of Oshimili South Council Area, heartily felicitate with the Government and the entire Deltans as our State, THE BIG HEART of the nation is 32 years old today.
Delta State since creation on August 27, 1991, has developed in Socio- economic, Infrastructural, physical, political and human development.
It is on this auspicious occasion that I salute the ingenuity of the past administrators of the State and Oshimili South LGA for sustaining the unity, peace and the wellbeing of the citizens.
To God be the Glory that the State is still a united entity devoid of rancor and acrimony 32 years after creation.
To our amiable Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori,we pray the good Lord to empower you with wisdom, willpower and the determination to sustain your M.O.R.E developmental programmes for the overall interest of the State.

Hon. Ezenyili Receives Award of Excellence from AHABA Dynamic Club of Nigeria

The AHABA Dynamic Club of Nigeria today presented an Award of Excellence to the Executive Chairman of Oshimili South LGA, Hon. Dr. Obi Kelvin Ezenyili.
The award was presented to him Council Executive Chairman's Office, was in recognition of his developmental programmes for Asaba and Oshimili South in general.
In his presentation speech, the President of the club said that the club was impressed with Dr. Ezenyili's commitment to improving the lives of the people of Oshimili South. He cited the chairman's efforts in the construction Legislative Complex and the ongoing building of a modern Ogwa -Ukwu Ahaba, were some of the reasons for the prestigious award.
Dr. Ezenyili who was visibly elated by the award, thanked the club for finding him worthy of such an honor. He said that he would continue to work hard to improving the lives of the people of Oshimili South Council Area with quality programs and infrastructures.
The award ceremony was attended by a number of dignitaries including the Vice Chairman of Oshimili South LGC, Mrs. Ify Ogbogu, the Secretary to the LG, SLG, Ogbueshi Brendan Iyeh, the Head of Personel Management, Mrs. Idao Chidimma, the Council Treasurer, Mr. Ngozi Ozor and other Council dignitaries who congratulated Dr. Ezenyili on the award and said that they were proud of the Chairman's achievements.

The award is a well-deserved recognition of Dr. Ezenyili's hard work and dedication to the people of Oshimili South. He is a true leader who is committed to making a difference in the lives of his constituents.

Hon. Ezenyili Inaugurates Task Force To Regulate Human And Vehicular Activities Asaba

With deepen commitment towards ensuring decorum and strict adherence to rules and regulations of traffic laws and operations of motor parks within the Koka flyover and interchange area of Oshimili South Council Area, the Council Chairman, Hon. Dr. Obi Kelvin Ezenyili, Monday, July 17,2023 inaugurated a task force to that effect.

The Council Boss expressed with dismay the trending cases of incessant loitering and roaming of artisans, vendors, tricycle and motor cycle operators under the flyover bridge, as he cited past cases of abuses and deviation from the true intent of its construction.

The Council Authority, in order to fix the menace had in consultations with various stakeholders engagement with state government agencies, major transport and business owners within that axis, which engagements led to the resolution of setting up a task force to mitigate the trending sad realty.

These various engagements also resulted in the need for the taskforce to collaborate with security operatives at apprehending violators, defaulters of traffic laws, hawkers, vendors and artisans loitering/roaming under the bridge.

The need to solicit support and cooperation from stakeholders and other private business owners within the fly over axis and in Oshimili South LGA, at ensuring the task before the committee is achieved.

The Council Boss charged the committee to discharge their duties with utmost diligence and ensure a strict compliance to the relevant laws and regulations.

"I will not hesitate to dissolve this committee, whenever there is evidence of an abuse of powers bestowed on them," the council chairman said.

He also enjoined all well meaning residents of the council area to support and cooperate with members of the committee, security operatives, state agencies at ensuring a clean, safe and peaceful Delta State.

Mr. Peter Onwuka, Ogbueshi Dumebi Oduah, will serve as the committee's Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively, while Dr. Ososuakpor Felix and Mr. Nnamdi Odiwe
were inaugurated as committe secretary and operations officer respectively.

On her part, Mrs. Amaraegbu Nkechi Juliet, Director, State Environmental Taskforce, expressed her office's commitment to partner with the committee, with a view at ensuring that the committee's tasks are achieved successfully.

Mr. Peter Onwuka and Mr. Nnamdi Odiwe, in their separate vote of thanks, appreciated the council chairman for inaugurating the task force while assuring their commitment and determination to fully put in their best in job.

Human Rights Watch Honours Ezenyili for an Exemplary Leadership in LG Administration

The Human Rights Watch (HRW), had presented an award of exemplary Service in leadership to the Executive Chairman of Oshimili South LGC, Asaba, Delta State, Hon.Dr. Obi Kelvin Ezenyili in his Executive Office at the Council Secretariat, Asaba.
The award was presented by the Coordinator and leader of the HRW team, Comrade Victor Chima.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Comrade Chima applauded Hon. Dr. Ezenyili's efforts in empowering citizens, improving sanitation, security, and social welfare, as well as the ongoing reconstruction of Ogwa Ukwu Ahaba and the recently Commissioned Oshimili South Legislative Arm Complex one of best Legislative Structures in Nigeria with the state of the art modern facilities.
He said that Hon.Dr. Ezenyili's leadership administrative prowess has made a positive impact on the lives of many people in Oshimili South Council Area.
HRW, noted that exemplary Leadership was what attracts the organization to honouring him to encourage Dr. Ezenyili to do more for Oshimili South Constituents.
Responding, the Council Chairman, Hon. Dr. Obi Kelvin Ezenyili, thanked HRW for the award and said that it would spur him to do even more for the people of the area. He said that he is committed to working hard to improving the lives of all citizens and to make Oshimili South LGA a better place to live.
He said he could not have done well administratively without the guidance and cooperation of the Legislative House, the Executive, and the Civil Servants who keyed into his Oshimili South LGC Development Plan for prosperity of the area.
At the award ceremony were the top Management team of the Council who jointly congratulated Hon. Dr. Ezenyili on the award and reassured him of their support to his administration in his continued efforts to improve the lives of the people of Oshimili South LGA.
Hon.Dr. Obi Kelvin Ezenyili, is a young administrator, full of wisdom, intelligence and a true servant leader who has made significant impacts on the lives of the people of Oshimili South LGA.

Illegal Touts and Motor parks:
- Joint Taskforce Sanitizes Asaba Mega City of Illegality

Delta State Ministry of Environment in collaboration with Oshimili South local Government taskforce on the sanitization of Asaba on Friday, june 30th, 2023, embarked on operation raid the mega city of Touts and illegal motor Parks.
The operation was done in synergy with the State Ministry of environment task force on beautification.
The essence of this joint operation was to raid the mega city of people who pretend to be scavengers but go about stealing properties as well as touts sleeping under the Koka bridge thereby constituting nuissance alongside illegal motor parks that make the city wear an ugly look .

The task force, led by Mrs. Nkechi and Dr. Ososuakpor, ensured that all the State Capital was put in a condition that befit a modern city.

During the exercise, the joint task force arrested a number of persons that violated the rules and they were taken to A and B Division Police Stations for prosecution .
The task force also demolished some illegal Car Parks in the area.

Speaking to newsmen after the exercise,the leader of the task force, Dr. Ososuakpor said that the task force was committed to ensuring that the State Capital was made condusive for the inhabitants of the mega city and warn all residents to maintain Government infrastructures. He noted that the State Government constructed the Koka roundabout with billions of naira for smooth vehicular movement and to prevent traffic grid stating said that artisans looting around the roundabout should relocate to Oko market area where the Government had provided for them and not to constitute environmental nuisance. He warned that the task force would not hesitate to arrest and prosecute anyone found violating environmental laws in the State.

He also called on residents of Asaba to cooperate with the task force by keeping the environment clean.

Mrs. Nkechi on her part, commended the synergy that existed between the State Task Force on Environment and the Oshimili South Local Government and noted that it was a welcome development.
She said that it was important to keep the environment clean and free from all forms of environmental disorder. She commended the task force for their efforts and urge them to continue the good work. She also urged Asaba residents to cooperate with the task force by being law abiding and reporting defaulters to the State Taskforce.

An ultramodern Legislative Complex built by the Oshimili South LGC, was on Wednesday, 12th April 2023, commissioned by His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Executive Governor of Delta State.
The legislative Complex which was named after the former Nigeria's First Lady, Mrs. Ndidi Maryam Babangida, has a total of 50 offices and a Chamber with state of the Arts facilities to house Staff and the 20 Councillors representing the 20 DSIEC Wards in Oshimili South LGA.
Speaking at the Commissioning Ceremony, the Council Chairman, Hon. Dr. Obi Kelvin Ezenyili, said that the Complex was named after Mrs. Maryam Babangida in honour of her pioneering roll in the development and empowerment of Women in leadership capability and quality.
He state that the Legislative Complex was conceived and executed as a project to providing a conducive working environment for Councillors for an improved performance in the Legislative business.
Hon. Ezenyili expressed that apart from the Leader of the house, no Councillor had an office space as most of them performed official duties under the trees hence building the Complex was paramount to creating a conducive working environment for good Law making for Oshimili South people.
He said that the edifice is second to none in the entire 25 LGAs in Delta State and Nigeria at large as the Council houses the Seat of Power and therefore, will enhance the capacity of the Legislators, Legislative Staff and the Political class.
The Council Boss remarked that aside the Ultramodern Legislative Building, there were a number of other landmark projects his administration had completed and some ongoing Viz: the reconstructed Executive building, grading of roads, automated system for LG identification processing and revenue collection for the Council amongst others.
Commissioning the Legislative and the Executive Buildings, the State Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, commended the Council Chairman for putting up a wonderful edifice and for judiciously utilizing the Council resources for the fundamental developmental strides at the Council.
Gov. Okowa said it was his first time of experiencing a magnitude of a building at the LGC which almost equals the state Assembly Complex.
He stated that as the LGC that hosts the seat of power, the Council has ways of collaborating with the State Government, hence the State Government had to hand over the Ogbeogonogo Modern market, Asaba to the Council for an improved revenue generation even when it was built by the State. The Governor was thereafter conducted round the interiors of the edifice by the Council Chairman.

2023 Fiscal Year:
- Ezenyili Presents #6.3b Budget Estimate of Consolidation

The Executive Chairman of Oshimili South LGC, Asaba, Delta State, Hon. Dr. Obi Kelvin Ezenyili, has presented the year 2023 Budget Estimate tagged, " Estimate of Consolidation" to the Oshimili South Legislative House for consideration and passage into Law for the Executive appropriation in this fiscal year.
The Budget Estimate has a total of #6,384,695,045.05 (Six Billion, Three hundred and Eighty- four million, Five hundred and ninety- five thousand, forty- three naira, Five Kobo)
According to the Budget Summary, Capital Expenditure will gulp the sum of #2,572,455,000.00 while the Recurrent Expenditure stands at #3,812,140,043,05, bringing the total projected funds to #6,384,595,043.05.
The breakdown of the 2023 Budget Estimate shows that the Budget would be funded through the major expected income flow into the Council: FAAC, IGR, Independent Revenue and VAT.
Presenting the Budget Estimate, the Council Boss said that the Estimate was tagged"Estimate of Consolidation" because the Council would not back pedal on the various strategies deployed to tightening up revenue leakages and making sure that all monies accruable to the LG, would be carefully harnessed so as to leave behind legacies that the subsequent administrations would find it difficult to surpass.
Hon. Ezenyili appreciated the Legislative House for their quick passage of the 2022 Budget Estimate while he again solicited their thorough and quick passage of the 2023 Estimate to enable the Executive execute some key projects before the rains fully set in.
Hon. Dr. Obi Kelvin Ezenyili however, enjoined all to be a part of the success story of this administration in moving it to an enviable heights. Speaking on behalf of the elected Councilors, the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Michael Okonji accepted the Budget presentation and assured the Council Chairman that the House would accelerate the quick passage of the Budget Estimate in record time for it's smooth implementation to meet the yearnings of Oshimili South people.

March 18 Guber polls:
- Ezenyili, Greatman seek Staff Votes for PDP

As part of consolidating on the gains of PDP government in Delta State, the Executive Chairman of Oshimili South LGA, Hon. Obi Kelvin Ezenyili Ph.D and the fmr Council Boss and the current first member representing Delta North at the LG Service Commission, Asaba, Barr. John Greatman Chukwuka, had appealed to the Oshimili South LGC Staff to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, in the State gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections coming up on Saturday, 18th March, 2023.
The appeal was made at an enlarged meeting of the staff at Ndudi Elumelu Hall right in the Council Secretariat.
Both speakers said that a vote for the PDP candidates will consolidate on the gains of democracy PDP has brought to Deltans.
They said it was not a case of cohesion to vote for PDP but a serious appeal for conscious and collective votes for PDP for continuity.
