DELTA YOUTH MINISTRY INAUGURATES DELTA NORTH YOUTH ASSOCIATION (DNYA)
The Delta North Youth Association (DNYA) was officially inaugurated today, Wednesday April 15, 2026, at Anglican Girls Grammar School, Asaba, as a socio-cultural and developmental youth body to unite and represent young people from Delta North Senatorial District (Anioma region) of Delta State.
The historic event was presided over by Mr Ogagan Aghogho, Director, Youth Mobilization and Leadership, Delta State Ministry of Youth Development. He commended the initiative and described the association as a timely platform to unite youths across Delta North for development and progress.
He emphasized the importance of youth participation in governance, leadership, and community development.
The Royal Father of the Day, Obi of Ubulu-Uno, Obi Kikachukwu Henry Afamefune, in his remarks, lauded the formation of the association and urged members to remain committed to peace, unity, and sustainable development across Delta North. He further encouraged the youths to work collaboratively with government and community leaders to achieve meaningful growth in Anioma land.
Speaking at the event, the National Chairman of DNYA, Shine Chinedu Akaeze, outlined the objectives of the association which include promoting unity among Delta North youths, fostering youth empowerment, encouraging leadership development, supporting educational advancement, advocating for youth inclusion in governance, and promoting peace and socio-economic development in Delta North.
Comrade Akaeze noted that the inauguration marks the beginning of a new era for youths in Delta North, stressing that the association will serve as a platform to harness the potentials of young people for the overall development of the region.
The event attracted youths, stakeholders, community leaders, and representatives from various youth organizations across Delta North, all of whom expressed optimism that the association will bring about positive transformation and opportunities for young people in the district.
The inauguration concluded with the formal presentation of the leadership and a renewed commitment by members to work together toward the growth and development of Delta North
