SNYC Congratulates Hon. Godknows Angele on Reassignment to Oversee Ministry of Youth Development

The Southern Nigeria Youth Congress, SNYC, Delta State Chapter, has congratulated Hon. Godknows Angele on his reassignment by the Delta State Government to oversee the Ministry of Youth Development in addition to his role as Commissioner for Housing.

In a statement made available to the press, the State Chairman of SNYC, Comrade Wiska Monday, described the development as a well-deserved recognition of Hon. Angele’s commitment to public service and youth advancement in the state.

Comrade Monday noted that Hon. Angele has consistently been at the forefront of youth development and engagement, maintaining an open-door policy that has made him accessible to young people and stakeholders across Delta State.

“This reassignment reflects the Governor’s confidence in Hon. Godknows Angele’s capacity to deliver results across multiple portfolios. His track record in housing and his genuine engagement with youths give us confidence that the Ministry of Youth Development will witness renewed focus and impact,” Comrade Monday said.

He added that SNYC Delta State Chapter remains committed to working closely with the Honourable Commissioner to advance policies and programs that create opportunities and address the needs of young people in the state.

The Congress wished Hon. Angele success in his expanded mandate and pledged continued collaboration to strengthen youth participation in governance and development.

NYCN Delta Hails Gov. Oborevwori on Hon. Angele’s Appointment to Supervise the Ministry of Youth Development

The Delta State Council of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, (NYCN), has commended the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, following the announcement assigning Hon. Godknows Angele to supervise the Delta State Ministry of Youth Development

Reacting to the development from the ongoing NYCN National Management Meeting in Abuja, the State Chairman of the council Comr. Sagboje Odiri Milton, CLN described the decision as a strategic and commendable move capable of strengthening youth-focused governance and development across the state.

Comr. Sagboje noted that the news was received with excitement by members of the council and youth leaders, stressing that Governor Oborevwori has continued to demonstrate practical commitment to youth inclusion, empowerment, and participatory governance through the implementation of the MORE Agenda.

According to him, Hon. Angele’s track record in public service, leadership capacity, and dedication to development-oriented governance positions him suitably to provide effective supervision for the Ministry of Youth Development at a time when young people require stronger institutional support and engagement.
He further stated that the assignment would help deepen ongoing efforts towards youth empowerment, entrepreneurship development, skills acquisition, civic participation, leadership development, and sustainable opportunities for young people across Delta State.

The Deputy National Scribe of the Forum of NYCN State Chairmen assured Hon. Angele of the support and cooperation of organized youths in the state, emphasizing the council’s readiness to partner with the ministry in advancing programmes and policies that will positively impact youths across the three senatorial districts of the State.

The council therefore congratulated Hon. Godknows Angele on the additional responsibility and expressed confidence that his supervision of the Ministry of Youth Development would usher in renewed innovation, progress, and greater opportunities for young people in Delta State.

The staff of Delta State Ministry of Youth Development, led by the Functioning Permanent Secretary, Mr Emmanuel Emuakpeje, today, 7th May, 2026, attended the burial ceremony of late Pa Daniel Onyegu Iyadi, father of Mrs Christy Enuma, Director Administration, Ministry of Youth Development. The burial ceremony took place at Elovie Primary School in Abbi.

‎The Ministry’s delegation joined family members, friends, associates, and sympathizers to pay their last respects to the deceased and offer prayers for the repose of his soul.

‎The Ministry also expressed its condolences to Mrs Enuma and her family, praying God to grant them the strength to bear the loss.

DELTA YOUTH MINISTRY INAUGURATES DELTA NORTH YOUTH ASSOCIATION (DNYA)

‎The Delta North Youth Association (DNYA) was officially inaugurated today, Wednesday April 15, 2026, at Anglican Girls Grammar School, Asaba, as a socio-cultural and developmental youth body to unite and represent young people from Delta North Senatorial District (Anioma region) of Delta State.

‎The historic event was presided over by Mr Ogagan Aghogho, Director, Youth Mobilization and Leadership, Delta State Ministry of Youth Development. He commended the initiative and described the association as a timely platform to unite youths across Delta North for development and progress.

‎He emphasized the importance of youth participation in governance, leadership, and community development.

‎The Royal Father of the Day, Obi of Ubulu-Uno, Obi Kikachukwu Henry Afamefune, in his remarks, lauded the formation of the association and urged members to remain committed to peace, unity, and sustainable development across Delta North. He further encouraged the youths to work collaboratively with government and community leaders to achieve meaningful growth in Anioma land.

‎Speaking at the event, the National Chairman of DNYA, Shine Chinedu Akaeze, outlined the objectives of the association which include promoting unity among Delta North youths, fostering youth empowerment, encouraging leadership development, supporting educational advancement, advocating for youth inclusion in governance, and promoting peace and socio-economic development in Delta North.

‎Comrade Akaeze noted that the inauguration marks the beginning of a new era for youths in Delta North, stressing that the association will serve as a platform to harness the potentials of young people for the overall development of the region.

‎The event attracted youths, stakeholders, community leaders, and representatives from various youth organizations across Delta North, all of whom expressed optimism that the association will bring about positive transformation and opportunities for young people in the district.

‎The inauguration concluded with the formal presentation of the leadership and a renewed commitment by members to work together toward the growth and development of Delta North
