PRESS RELEASE

DELTA HOS, DR. MININIM OSEJI, CONGRATULATES UNIPORT ALUMNI ASABA EXECUTIVES, PLEDGES SUPPORT

The Head of Service, Delta State, Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji, has congratulated the newly elected Executive Members of the University of Port Harcourt Alumni Association, Asaba Branch.

Dr. Oseji gave the commendation while receiving members of the association on a courtesy visit to her office in Asaba ahead of her retirement.

Acknowledging the encomiums and prayers offered by the association, the Head of Service said they were well received and noted. She charged the new executives to embark on activities that will positively impact the lives of people, adding that sacrifices must be made to demonstrate professionalism.

While promising her support and commitment to the success and progress of the association, Dr. Oseji accepted the invitation to serve as Keynote Speaker at the association’s 2026 Annual General Meeting in Asaba.

Dr. Oseji further stated that her idea of a purposeful retirement is to devote more time to giving God praise, prayers, and leisure for a relaxed life after service.

Earlier in her remarks, the Chairperson of the University of Port Harcourt Alumni Association, Asaba Branch, and Functioning Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Mrs. Stella Macaulay, extolled the Head of Service for her immeasurable contributions to the development of the state civil service and for rising to the pinnacle of her career. She said the association was inspired by and proud of Dr. Oseji’s accomplishments.

Mrs. Macaulay emphasized that the present committee of the association has embarked on activities aimed at strengthening unity among members, encouraging participation in branch activities, promoting networking, and enhancing the visibility of the association within the state.

She thanked the Head of Service for accepting to be the Keynote Speaker at the Uniport 2026 Alumni Association Public Lecture with the theme: "Beyond Retirement: Thriving Through Good Health and Financial Stability."

Mrs. Macaulay also outlined the year’s programs to include a novelty football match, a visit to an old people’s home, the Annual General Meeting, and the keynote lecture.

She pledged her commitment to serve with humility, integrity, transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness, with the aim of building a vibrant association that every alumnus in Asaba would be proud of.
