Earlier today I joined His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, and the entire Itsekiri Nation in giving a grand royal welcome to His Excellency, Sheriff Oborevwori, to the revered Palace of the Olu of Warri.

In a historic gathering of unity and progress, the Itsekiri Nation formally hosted and endorsed His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for President, and H.E. Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for Governor.

The occasion was further crowned with honour as His Majesty conferred the prestigious Royal Order of Iwere (ROI) on His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

A moment of honour, unity, royalty, and a shared vision for a greater Delta and Nigeria.

I had the honour of receiving the Eco Excellence Award in recognition of Outstanding Achievement in Climate Action from the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), a professional body I am proud to belong to as a Fellow.

This Award serves as a strong encouragement to continue advancing sustainable water management and environmental protection across Delta State.

I wish to express my profound gratitude to His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, for his visionary leadership and unwavering support, which continue to create an enabling environment for impactful service delivery and sustainable development.

Residents of Araya and Egbo-Igbide in Isoko South Local Government Area have expressed deep appreciation to the Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori led administration for ensuring continuous water supply to their communities.

The communities also commended the Delta State Ministry of Water Resources Development, under the leadership of Hon Dr Isaac Wilkie , for the sustained efforts in maintaining and improving water infrastructure across the area.

According to community members, the steady supply of clean water has greatly improved daily life, enhanced sanitation, and supported economic activities within the communities. They noted that the commitment of the state government to reliable water services demonstrates a clear focus on the wellbeing of the people.

Hon. Dr. Isaac Wilkie, Olero Creek Communities Pass Vote of Confidence on Governor Oborevwori, President Tinubu

The Honourable Commissioner for Water Resources Development, Delta State, Hon. Dr. Isaac Wilkie, alongside leaders and representatives of the seven communities in the Olero Creeks, has passed a unanimous vote of confidence on the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The communities commended the commitment of both leaders to development, peace, and inclusive governance, particularly in riverine and oil-producing areas, while expressing optimism for sustained progress and improved livelihoods especially in the areas of provision of water and power

PRESS UPDATE | MINISTRY OF WATER RESOURCES DEFENDS 2026 BUDGET AT DELTA ASSEMBLY

Yesterday, the Honorable Commissioner for Water Resources Development, Hon. Dr. Isaac Wilkie, led a delegation comprising the Acting Permanent Secretary, Directors, and General Managers of relevant agencies to defend the 2026 Budget Proposal of the Ministry before the Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Water, ably chaired by Hon. Bino Ovwhede, Member representing Isoko South Constituency I.

During the session, Hon Dr Isaac Wilkie highlighted the critical importance and urgent need for potable water as a cornerstone for public health, economic growth, and sustainable development across Delta State. He also outlined the remarkable progress recorded in the water sector under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, in line with the MORE Agenda of the present administration. He further assured the Committee of the Ministry’s commitment to consolidating these gains and delivering an even stronger performance in 2026.

The House Committee expressed excitement and commendation, as it eulogized both the Ministry and the Honorable Commissioner for their tremendous performance so far, while pledging continued legislative support for the Ministry’s mandate.

The Ministry remains steadfast in its mission to ensure sustainable water development and improved service delivery for the people of Delta State.
