For me, this is a dream come true. I never imagined that one day I would commission a new-generation bank in my own village.
Today, that dream became a reality with the commissioning of the Premium Trust Bank branch in Irrua.

This investment will boost commerce, expand financial inclusion, create jobs, and create more opportunities for our people in Edo Central.

I also commissioned a solar-powered water project donated by the bank at the Irrua Model Market, an intervention that will improve access to clean water and enhance the wellbeing of traders and residents.

I sincerely appreciate Premium Trust Bank and its Managing Director, Mr. Emmanuel Emefienim, for their confidence in our people and for choosing to invest in Irrua. Together, we will continue to create an enabling environment that attracts investment and drives sustainable development across Edo State.

PURPOSEFUL LEADERSHIP, VISIBLE RESULTS: HIS EXCELLENCY SENATOR MONDAY OKPEBHOLO ADMINISTRATION IS BUILDING A GREATER EDO

Leadership is measured not just by promises made, but by promises fulfilled. In less than two years in office, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has continued to demonstrate a strong commitment to infrastructure development, proving that purposeful governance can deliver tangible results for the people of Edo State.

With the award of 54 road projects covering over 500 kilometres across the state, the administration is laying a solid foundation for economic growth, improved transportation and better access to communities. These projects are more than roads, they are pathways to progress, creating opportunities for businesses, easing movement and improving the quality of life for citizens.

The administration's focus on infrastructure reflects a clear vision for a modern and prosperous Edo State. Every completed road is a testament to a government determined to connect communities, stimulate development and ensure that no part of the state is left behind.

HE Sen Monday Okpebholo's dedication to delivering visible and impactful projects has continued to inspire confidence among Edo people. His commitment to fulfilling campaign promises through practical action is setting a positive standard for governance, reinforcing the belief that leadership is most meaningful when it brings development directly to the people.

As Edo State continues on this path of transformation, the achievements recorded so far serve as a strong indication that greater milestones lie ahead. Indeed, the roads being built today are paving the way for a brighter, stronger and more prosperous Edo tomorrow.

*Gov Okpebholo Urges APC Leaders, Members to Unite Ahead of 2027 Elections*

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has called on members, leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo Central Senatorial District to remain united and committed to securing victory for the party in the 2027 general elections.

The governor made the call during an interactive meeting with APC stakeholders, party faithful and support groups in Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State, where he said unity and collective effort were critical to sustaining the party’s growth and electoral success.

The meetings were held at the governor’s residence in Irrua and the Okaijesan Town Hall, Irrua, as part of efforts to strengthen party cohesion, listen to members’ concerns and mobilise support ahead of the forthcoming local government elections and the 2027 presidential election.

Those who attended the engagement included APC candidates for the July 11, 2026 local government election and the 51 councillorship candidates across the five local government areas in Edo Central Senatorial District.

Governor Okpebholo also met with members of the Esan Central Bike/Keke Riders Association, Edo Women Ambassadors for Renewed Hope Agenda (EWARHA), Edo Central chapter, and the Arewa community in the district.

Other dignitaries at the meeting included,Umar Ikhilor Esq, SSG, Gen Cecil Esekhaigbe, Senatorial leader, former Speakers of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Thomas Okosun, Rt. Hon. Justin Okonobu and Rt. Hon. Victor Edoro; former Senator Clifford Ordia, as well as other APC leaders.

Addressing party members, Governor Okpebholo urged them to put aside differences and work together to deliver victory for the APC at all levels.

“Politics is all about give and take. I called this meeting to see faces I have not seen for a long time. This is the time to tell ourselves the truth, and seeing you here shows that I am supported,” he said.

The governor expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would secure strong support from Edo State in the 2027 presidential election, saying the administration’s policies and projects had impacted positively on Nigerians.

“Two point five million votes is very sure for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The President has worked for the nation and we have also benefited from his administration,” Okpebholo said.

He commended the Federal Government for infrastructure interventions in Edo State, particularly the rehabilitation of the Ekpoma-Ehor road, noting that the project had improved transportation and economic activities in the area.

The governor also highlighted the removal of fuel subsidy by the Tinubu administration, describing it as a difficult decision aimed at redirecting resources towards national development.

While meeting with transport operators, Governor Okpebholo promised to support their activities and encouraged them to join efforts towards achieving the APC’s electoral objectives.

He also informed members of EWARHA that Nigeria’s First Lady would soon visit Edo State to empower women with business support loans aimed at improving their livelihoods.

The APC Deputy State Chairman, Sylvester Aigboboh, urged party members to continue supporting the administration and work towards victory in the local government and general elections.

Aigboboh said retaining political leadership was necessary to sustain ongoing development efforts across various sectors of the Edo economy.

Today, I carried out inspection visits to the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS) headquarters and the ongoing renovation of the Doctors’ Quarters in Benin City as part of our administration’s commitment to rebuilding critical infrastructure across Edo State.

At EBS, I expressed concern over the poor state of facilities and immediately directed actions towards restoring and upgrading the station. Plans are already underway for a complete facelift of the broadcast house, including improved power supply, functional transmission systems, and operational support to reposition EBS into a modern and fully functional media outfit capable of operating effectively round the clock.

I also inspected the ongoing renovation of the abandoned Doctors’ Quarters on Ezotti Street, a project that had been neglected for decades. I am pleased with the level of progress recorded and have been assured that the facility will be ready for occupation within the next two months, providing a conducive environment for our medical personnel.

Our administration remains committed to practical governance, infrastructure renewal, and improving the welfare of Edo people across all sectors.
A New Edo Has Risen.
