Bauchi Government Warns New District Heads Against Illegal Activities, Announces Welfare Package


The Bauchi State Government has cautioned newly appointed District Heads against violating government policies and engaging in illegal activities, while reaffirming its commitment to strengthening the traditional institution through the construction of official palaces and monthly salaries.

The warning was issued by the Chairman of the State Government Supervisory Committee on the swearing-in of newly appointed District Heads, Dr. Usman Shehu Usman (Wambai Giade), Honourable Commissioner for Information and Communication, during the committee's monitoring visit to Katagum, Jama'are and Gamawa Emirates on behalf of Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, CON.

During the exercise, the Emir of Katagum, Alhaji Umar Faruq II, administered the oath of office to 98 District Heads, while the Emir of Jama'are, Alhaji Nuhu Muhammad Wabi, swore in 37 District Heads. Similarly, the Emir of Gamawa, Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir Adamu, inaugurated 38 District Heads.

The Emirs congratulated the newly appointed traditional rulers and urged them to discharge their responsibilities with the fear of God, integrity, honesty, loyalty and unwavering commitment to peace, justice and the development of their respective communities.

Speaking on behalf of Governor Bala Mohammed, Dr. Usman Shehu Usman reminded the new District Heads that their appointments carry enormous responsibility and public trust.

He warned them against engaging in or condoning illegal activities, including unauthorized logging, bush burning, illegal charcoal production and the unlawful sale of government or forest lands.

He also reiterated the state government's directive prohibiting farming within 50 kilometres of major highways, stressing that any District Head found violating government directives or aiding unlawful activities would be removed from office and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

The Commissioner further announced that the Bauchi State Government would construct an official palace for each of them, and integrate them into the state's salary structure to enable them to receive regular monthly remuneration as recognised government officials.

Journalists, Colleagues Visit New Permanent Secretary of Bauchi Religious Affairs Ministry.

Journalists covering the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Community Relations, and Societal Re-orientation have paid a congratulatory visit to the newly appointed Permanent Secretary, Alh Musa Datti Gaide, pledging support for the Ministry’s mandate.

Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the journalists’ group, Malam Bature Bala Manunfashi, said the visit was to congratulate Alh. Gaide on his appointment and pray for his success. He assured the Permanent Secretary of their commitment to diligently cover the Ministry’s activities and be available for any assignment.

Responding, Alh. Musa Datti Gaide thanked the journalists and urged them to remain proactive in publicizing the Ministry’s work, especially on religious matters. He described them as “house members” who should regularly engage with the Ministry, just as media correspondents do in other ministries. He added that his door remains open for suggestions that will advance the Ministry and government.

Alh. Gaide commended the Commissioner, Engr. Muhammad Binni Abdulkadir, for his leadership, and appreciated Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, CON, Kauran Bauchi, for providing the support that enables staff to perform effectively.

*Colleagues Pay Courtesy Visit*

In a related development, colleagues of the Permanent Secretary led by Malam Abdulmalik Jimo also visited to congratulate him and seek guidance on improving service delivery, given his experience as a former leader.

Alh. Gaide advised them to see government work as a trust and to discharge their duties with professionalism, excellence, truthfulness, and integrity. He said such conduct will set a standard for those coming after them and help achieve government objectives.

Bauchi State Civil Service Commission Formalized Cases of Transfer, Absorption and Employments:

The Bauchi State Civil Service Commission following the approval of a waiver of transfer by the State Governor Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed CON, has formalized the transfer of Dr.Yusuf Abdu a Veterinary Doctor and Mukhtar Adamu Bello an Environmental Health Technician from Local Government Service and State Universal Basic Education Bauchi (SUBEB) to the Bauchi State College of Agriculture in the interest of the service.

Their formalization and others was considered during the 20th plenary session of the Commission on 9th June, 2026 held at its conference Hall.

Employment; in fulfillment of His Excellency the Executive Governor Sen. Bala A. Mohammed on the verbal directive to employ 3 Volunteers during a supervisory visit to Primary Health Care Wahu in Darazo Local Government that 2 hardworking Volunteers met during the visit be employed under the state Government while another 1 volunteer be employed under the Local Government Areas.To this end the Commission has engaged the services of Rukayya Muhammad as Community Health Extension Worker and Safiyanu Aminu as Environmental Health Technician.
The Commission noted that Safiyanu's documents is not complete and therefore withhold his appointment letter pending provision of all required certificates.

Meanwhile the Commission also withhold the absorption of one Candidate as Education Officer placed on grade levels 12 proposed to serve under Special School Management Board pending the submission of an evidence of resignation approval from the sister State Teacher's Service Commission.
It could be recalled that State Government has approved the absorption of 12 contracted staff of the Community and Social Development Agency under the World Bank Assisted Program in the State which the Candidate was among them.

Presiding over the plenary session the Chairman of the Commission Dr. Ibrahim Alh. Muhammad mni, re-emphasized the importance of registration with the professional councils by the medical practitioners to avoid quackery in the health system of service delivery hence become the prerequisites for recognition and enhancement of medical officers and other health personnel.

The Chairman who was represented by the Permanent Commissioner I of the Commission, Alh. Abdullahi Babayo the Danmadamin Jalam, urged them always to renew their licenses.
Alh. Babayo while congratulating all the successful Candidates enjoined them to reciprocate the gesture done to them by the State Government under the leadership of Senator Bala Mohammed and perform their assignment with respect, honesty and dedication for effective service delivery.

Bauchi State Grand Khadi Calls On The Newly Appointed Shari'a Court Judges To Serve With Integrity and Honesty:

The Bauchi State Grand Khadi, His Lordship Khadi Muhammad Umar Liman has called on the newly appointed Shari'a Court Judges to execute their assignment with integrity, honest, discipline and without fear or favor.

The call was made during the inauguration of a two days induction training for the recently appointed 31 Shari'a Court Judges organized by the State Judicial Service Commission, held at the secretariat of the Medical and Health Workers Union (MHWUN) in Bauchi on 8th June, 2026.

The Grand Khadi who was represented by the Honorable Khadi Muhammad Uthman El-Mainari of the State Sharia Court of Appeal, enjoined them to continue their learning and expand their knowledge to enable them perform their duties diligently. He also reminded them that, as civil Servants they are expected to serve in any part of Bauchi State.

Khadi Muhammad El - Mainari emphasized the need to adhere to the rules guiding the activities of their Courts and to be mindful of the Commission and the office of the Grand Khadi will not relent in checkmating their activities and if found wanting disciplinary action would be applied according to the rules and regulations guiding Shari'a Court Judges.

Khadi El-Mainari assured the participants that, their authorities will continue to protect them in the course of their duties.
He commended the State Chief Justice and the Chairperson State Judicial Service Commission Her Lordship Justice Rabi Talatu Umar and the Executive Secretary Judicial Service Commission Dr. Ibrahim Danjuma Esq for their zeal and giant stride in safeguarding the integrity in the administration of justice and the people oriented programs which uplifted the standard operation procedures of the State judicial service system. BAUCHI STATE DRUG REVOLVING FUND COMMITTEE (DRF) PAY A COURTESY VISIT TO BAUCHI STATE HEALTH TRUST FUND AGENCY.

Bauchi State Drug Revolving Fund (DRF) Committee have paid a collaboration visit to the Bauchi State Health Trust Fund Agency (BHetFund) to seek stronger partnership in improving access to quality and affordable medicines.

The delegation, led by the Chairman of the DRF Committee, Pharm Ibrahim Sani able represented by the committee secretary Pharm Rabiu Abba Usman received at the BHetFund headquarters in Bauchi. Speaking during the visit, Pharm Rabiu, said the committee was in the agency to seek a cooperation and stronger technical support that would enable DRF achieve its mission of ensuring sustainable supply of essential drugs across health facilities in the state.

He noted that collaboration with BHetFund would help address gaps in drug availability, affordability, and accountability at facility level.

Welcoming the delegation, the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics of BHetFund, Musa Yakubu Misau, described the Drug Revolving Fund as “a very good initiative” that has contributed to tremendous success in the state’s health sector. He urged the committee to increase its efforts and maintain transparency to build public trust.

In his response, the Executive Secretary of BHetFund, Dr. Sani Ibrahim Ningi, expressed confidence in the capacity and commitment of the DRF Committee. He pledged the agency’s full support in all areas, including policy alignment, resource mobilization, and monitoring, to ensure the scheme delivers on its mandate.

The visit ended with both parties agreeing to establish a joint technical working group to coordinate activities and track progress.
