The wife of His Excellency The Executive Governor of Bauchi State Haj. (Dr.) Aisha Bala Mohammed 1st (Sarauniyar Bauchi / Uwar Marayu) First Lady, Bauchi State open an orphanage School at Tudun Salmanu Bauchi.
The orphanage school is to commence with thirty (30) children. The children are to stay at the fully founded apartments made up of their beds, free food, shelter, medical care, and study materials that will enable them to attend their studies fully from the primary school level up to the secondary school level. With all this in mind, it is our role to start championing the rights of the weak and nobody is weaker than a helpless orphan sleeping on the ground shivering from the cold with an empty stomach.
The First Lady said it has become necessary to establish the orphanage considering the need to incumbent children that have lost their parents or they are from a less privileged background. The orphanage will go a long in adding value to the life of the children where they will become significant in society. She affirms that caring for orphans is a significant part of Islam. Orphans are mentioned 22 times in the Qur’an; their mistreatment is a serious sin while nurturing and sponsoring them is an immensely valuable good deed.
Han. Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed further said as Muslims, we are ordered to ease the plight of all those who suffer. It is a collective responsibility that can’t be taken lightly. Muslims are directly ordered to take care of the orphans. Allah Almighty says, “And serve Allah. Ascribe no thing as partner unto Him. (Show) kindness unto parents, and unto near kindred, and orphans, and the needy…” (An-Nisaa’ 4: 36)
She further said a Muslim should allocate a portion of it for social purposes atop of which comes catering to the needs of orphans, especially at times of disasters. Allah Almighty says, “And feed with food the needy wretch, the orphan, and the prisoner, for love of Him.”
Sheik Ismail Bajoga applauded Her Excellency for this wonderful initiative. He said it is enough to say that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) promised those who take care of the orphan's paradise. The best house is the one where orphans are cared for and treated most honorably and kindly.
Alh. Maijama'a Winti after appreciating the efforts of Her Excellency said those who care for the orphans will obtain the highest rank of paradise along with Prophets and Messengers. Allah says, “Whoso obeyeth Allah and the messenger, they are with those unto whom Allah hath shown favor, of the Prophets and the saints and the martyrs and the righteous. The best of company are they!” (An-Nisaa’ 4: 69).
The Great Grand Khadi of Bauchi affirms that Blessed is the wealth of the Muslim, from which he/she gives to the poor, the orphan, and the wayfarer. He also said when mentioning certain good deeds in the Qur’an, Allah also describes in detail the beautiful things in Jannah we will earn by doing these good deeds. In Surah Insan, Allah describes people who give their food to orphans and the needy, purely for His sake.
Alh Dr. Abdullahi Bello Bodejo The National President Miyetti Allah Kautal H**e Fulani Sociocultural Association of Nigeria thanked Governor Bala and his amiable wife for such a remarkable gesture.
