PROFILE OF CHIEF BARR. DR. MRS. OGIONWO AUSTIN EBIMOBOERE BLESSING mni
Chief Barr. Dr. Mrs. Ogionwo Austin Ebimoboere Blessing mni was born on the 21st day of June 1970 to the family of Chief Jeremiah Biobou Bazigha of Igaliwari Compound in Korokorosei town, Olodiama Clan of Southern Ijaw LGA Bayelsa state and Mrs. Celine Igbi of Uzere community in Isoko North LGA of Delta State.
She attended Olodiama Group School Korokorosei from 1976 to 1983 for her First School Leaving Certifacte, and later went to Community Secondary School Korokorosei from 1989 to 1995. After her Senior School Certificate examination, Ebimoboere Ogionwo proceeded to the Institute of Administrative Management and obtained a Diploma in Financial Management. The young focused Ebimoboere didn’t take time to identify her direction in life. She secured admission to study Law at the Rivers State university of Science and Technology Port Harcourt and bagged a Bachelor of Law Degree in 2005; she then proceeded to the Nigeria Law School and obtained a BL in 2010. She again enrolled for a Post Graduate Diploma in education with the University of Port Harcourt in 2011.
In 2019, she attended National College of Natural Medicine, thereafter Niger Delta University and acquired Diploma in Natural Medicine. In 2020 she obtained a Diploma from the Science Medicine Research Institute, Texas USA. Again, her love for God spurred her to enroll for a Diploma in Theology in the International School of Ministry Warri in Delta State in 2013.
Mrs. Ogionwo started her working life as a Supervisory Councilor for Health and later Supervisor for Agriculture and Community Development in Southern Ijaw Local Government Council between 1999 and 2002. She was again appointed as Special Assistant to the then Secretary to Bayelsa State Government. Owing to hard work and commitment, she was appointed as Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of Kolokuma/Opokuma LGC between 2009- 2010.
Upon her call to Bar, she practiced briefly with Collins Boleigha Chamber and later Austin Febo’s Chamber. She was also appointed Managing Director of Crystabel Microfinance Bank by the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN and a Board member of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria.
Versatile Ebi Ogionwo founded an NGO, Law Explorer Development and Assistance Initiative. She joined the National Council of Women Society NCWS and served at various capacities including President of SILGA Chapter, Secretary Bayelsa Chapter two and three, National Vice President and Chairman Standing committee on State Women.
She is a member of many professional bodies which include International Federation of Women Lawyers FIDA, Chattered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria CIBN, Chattered Institute of Forensic and Investigative Auditors.
In February 2024, Chief Dr. Barr. Mrs. Ogionwo Austin Ebimoboere Blessing secured admission into the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies NIPSS, Kuru Jos through the instrumentality of the NCWS and in February 2025 became a member National Institute.
She was honoured the Best Performing Chairman by the Senate Committee on Local Government in 2010.
Owing to her commitment to community development and impact on the people of her community and clan by extension, the Ibenanaowei of Olodiam Clan, HRM King SN Orianzi, Olodi of Olodiama bestowed on her the Chieftaincy title of Owufinire I of Olodiama,
Chief Barr. Dr. Mrs. Ogionwo Austin Ebimoboere Blessing mni, met her love, Pastor Barr Austin Ogionwo Febo twenty-five years ago, happily married and blessed with children.
Her hobbies are reading, swimming and playing Golf.
