Today, Kebbi State stands taller. Nigeria stands prouder. And the entire Kebbi State Ministry of Justice is overflowing with joy and pride.
The conferment of the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN on Prof. Junaidu Bello Marshall is the legal profession’s highest honor. For us at the Ministry, it is more than a silk gown and a new title. It is national recognition of a life devoted to three pillars: knowledge, justice, and service.
We call you “Professor of Law” because Prof. Marshall has shaped minds in lecture halls long before he shaped policies in this Ministry. You taught us that law is not just statutes and sections — it is conscience written down. Many of your students today serve as judges, magistrates, lawyers, and public officers because you refused to teach them shortcuts. You taught them integrity.
We call you “Honorable Attorney General & Commissioner for Justice” because under Prof. Junaidu Bello Marshall’s leadership, the Ministry of Justice in Kebbi has become a house of fairness, reform, and excellence. You have carried the weight of representing our state in court, defending the rule of law, and ensuring that the voice of the common citizen is heard where it matters most. You lead with humility despite the power of your office.
And now we proudly call you “Learned Senior Advocate of Nigeria” — a title earned by few, and richly deserved by Prof. Marshall. The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee does not award SAN lightly. It is reserved for legal practitioners who have demonstrated brilliance in advocacy, depth in scholarship, and unshakable character over decades. Sir, you embody all three.
The road to SAN is forged in fire. It is decades of research, of writing, of standing before courts and defending truth. It is choosing principle when compromise would be easier. It is mentoring juniors late into the night and still preparing briefs before dawn. Today, Nigeria has affirmed what Kebbi already knew — that Prof. Junaidu Bello Marshall is a Senior Advocate not only in rank, but in spirit.
Your elevation is historic for us. Prof. Marshall, you are now a reference point for every young lawyer, every law student, and every public servant who believes that excellence and ethics can coexist. You have lifted the image of Kebbi State. You have shown that one can wear the professor’s gown, the commissioner’s robe, and now the SAN silk — and still remain the same humble, accessible, justice-driven leader.
On behalf of the Management, Legal Officers, Support Staff, and the entire Kebbi State Ministry of Justice, we pray that this new rank multiplies your wisdom. May your counsel continue to guide Kebbi State through complex legal challenges. May your voice in the inner bar continue to shape Nigeria’s jurisprudence for good.
