The Bonny Legislative Council, 10th Assembly, led by the Leader of the House, Rt. Hon. Kingsley Tammy Jumbo, on Monday, 3rd August 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the newly deployed Commanding Officer of the Nigerian Army, Bonny, Lt. Col. David Damilade Omale, at the Army Operational Base, Bonny.

The visit reflects the Assembly’s unwavering commitment to strengthening institutional collaboration and fostering a strategic partnership with security agencies in the collective pursuit of peace, security, and sustainable development across Bonny Local Government Area.

Speaking during the visit, Rt. Hon. Kingsley Tammy Jumbo congratulated Lt. Col. David Damilade Omale on his deployment and wished him a successful and impactful tenure in Bonny. He emphasized the importance of sustained synergy between the Councillors of the 12 Wards of Bonny and the Nigerian Army in addressing security challenges and safeguarding the lives and property of residents in consolidation of the commendable efforts and initiatives of the Executive Chairman, Amasenibo Hon Abinye Blessing Pepple, JP, DSSRS.

The Leader of the House commended the Nigerian Army for its courage, sacrifices, professionalism and unwavering dedication in servicing the LGA and Nation at large. He further reiterated the Council’s readiness to also work closely with the Army in support of ongoing security initiatives, particularly within the riverine Communities of Bonny Local Government Area.

In his response, Lt. Col. David Damilade Omale expressed appreciation to the Bonny Legislative Council for the thoughtful visit and described it as a demonstration of the Assembly’s commitment to peace and effective representation. THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL ACCOMPANIES THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN ON A TOUR OF ONGOING PROJECTS

The Bonny 10th Legislative Council, led by Rt. Hon. Kingsley Tammy Jumbo, accompanied the Executive Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area Amasenibo Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple on an inspection tour of ongoing projects across the local government.

The tour was aimed at assessing the progress, quality, and pace of work on various developmental projects being executed for the benefit of the people of Bonny. During the visit, the delegation inspected several project sites and received briefings from contractors and relevant officials on the current status of each project.

The Bonny Legislative Council, 10th Assembly, held a crucial engagement with the Managing Director of Darycet International Limited to discuss the ongoing Bonny Ring Road and bridge projects linking various communities within the Local Government Area.

During the meeting, the Legislative Council raised critical concerns affecting residents, with particular focus on the timely completion of the Ring Road project. The lawmakers emphasized the importance of accelerating work to ensure that the project delivers the expected benefits to the people of Bonny.

The Council also expressed concern over the pace of work on the project and called for the deployment of a more comprehensive workforce to hasten construction and improve overall progress. Members reiterated that the completion of the Ring Road is vital for enhancing transportation, improving connectivity between communities, promoting economic growth, and easing the daily challenges faced by residents.

The Bonny Legislative Council, 10th Assembly, paid a congratulatory visit to the family of Rt. Hon. Kingsley Tammy Jumbo to celebrate the safe arrival of his baby.

Members of the Bonny Local Government Legislative Council, 10th Assembly, visited the Bonny Police Station to inspect the recently completed tiling project undertaken by the Council under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Kingsley Tammy Jumbo, as part of its commitment to supporting security institutions and improving public facilities within the Local Government Area.

The project, which has now been successfully completed and delivered, includes the tiling of the Charge-room floor and wall sections of the station, significantly enhancing the appearance and functionality of the facility. This improvement has created a more conducive environment for both officers and members of the public who visit the station.

The inspection also featured a review of the commemorative plaque installed to mark the completion of the project under the leadership of the Bonny Legislative Council 10th Assembly, led by the Leader of the House, Rt. Hon. Kingsley Tammy Jumbo.

The Bonny Legislative Council, 10th Assembly, on Tuesday, 23rd June 2026, held a plenary engagement with the leadership of the various motorcycle transport unions (Okada operators) operating within Bonny Local Government Area. The meeting formed part of the Council’s ongoing efforts to address critical issues affecting the Local Government and promote public safety.

During the engagement, the Council deliberated on several concerns impacting residents, particularly the growing threat posed by reckless motorcycle riding and the lack of adequate safety measures within the LGA. The lawmakers highlighted the increasing risks these practices pose to commuters, pedestrians, and the general public.

The Council expressed strong concern over these developments and emphasized the need for a more effective regulatory framework to improve accountability and professionalism within the motorcycle transport sector.
