Another Royal Visit: City Boy Movement Pays Homage to the Shehu of Borno

The City Boy Movement, Yobe State Chapter, led by its Director, Dr. Muhammad Yakubu Hassan, is currently in Maiduguri for the City Boy Movement Town Hall Meeting and the Northeast Mega Empowerment Programme.

As part of the Movement’s engagements in Borno State, the leadership paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi, the Shehu of Borno, at his palace in Maiduguri. The delegation included distinguished young leaders and brothers of the Movement, notably Hon. Saleem Goje (Sardaunan Gassol and CEO, DanMama Smart Homes), Dr. Abubakar Mai Mala Buni, and other notable members of the Northeast’s emerging leadership community.

The visit was an opportunity to pay homage to the revered traditional institution of Borno and reaffirm the Movement’s deep respect for traditional leadership and the invaluable role traditional rulers continue to play in preserving our history, culture, unity and communal values. As people of the Northeast, we recognise that genuine leadership is rooted in respect for institutions, wisdom from our elders, and a commitment to preserving the heritage entrusted to us by generations past.

The City Boy Movement, Yobe State Chapter, prays for His Royal Highness, the Shehu of Borno, for continued wisdom, strength, sound health and long life in service to the people. We equally pray that Almighty Allah continues to guide and protect the Shehu, bless Borno State, safeguard its people, and grant lasting peace, prosperity, unity and sustainable development to Borno and the entire Northeast.

Ameen.
