The Acting Secretary to the Yobe State Government, Dr. Mohammed Goje, has disclosed that Yobe State is among the leading states in the country in terms of data submission to the national dashboard of the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme (RHWDP).
Dr. Goje made this known on Thursday while receiving the State Coordinator of the programme, Comrade Alhaji Baba Shehu, alongside the 17 Local Government Coordinators, during a courtesy visit to his office.
He attributed the state's impressive performance to the laudable effort of the Yobe State Government under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni to ensuring that development initiatives reach every segment of society, particularly those at the grassroots.
โHis Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni, is deeply passionate about ensuring that government programmes and interventions reach the last person in every community across the state.
This commitment to inclusive governance and grassroots development is the reason Yobe continues to support programmes such as the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme.
We will continue to provide the necessary support to ensure that no community is left behind in benefiting from the dividends of democracy,โ Dr. Goje stated.
The acting SSG commended the programme coordinators for their dedication and urged them to sustain the momentum to ensure more eligible beneficiaries are captured and enrolled.
Earlier, the State Coordinator of the RHWDP, Comrade Alhaji Baba Shehu, commended Governor Buni for providing the programme with the support and enabling environment required for its successful implementation in the state.
He noted that although Yobe commenced the enrolment exercise later than many states, it has rapidly emerged as one of the leading performers nationwide, with over 100,000 beneficiaries already enrolled into the programme.
According to him, the achievement reflects the commitment of the state government and the dedication of programme officials at both state and local government levels.
A major highlight of the visit was the distribution of functional laptop computers to all the 17 Local Government Coordinators and a staff member of the programme secretariat.
The laptops were presented by the Acting Secretary to the State Government with the support of the State Coordinator and other Permanent Secretaries, as part of efforts to enhance efficiency, data management and programme implementation across the state.
