The rising level of insecurity in Nigeria continues to raise serious concerns among citizens. While government has repeatedly assured Nigerians of its commitment to protecting lives and property, many communities still experience kidnappings, killings, and other violent crimes with alarming frequency.

Recent incidents, particularly attacks on schools and the abduction of innocent students and teachers, highlight the urgent need for a more proactive and effective security strategy. Citizens expect not only promises but visible results that restore confidence in the nation's security architecture.

This is not a time for blame games but for decisive action. Government at all levels must strengthen intelligence gathering, improve coordination among security agencies, equip security personnel adequately, and ensure swift responses to security threats. There must also be greater accountability and transparency in addressing these challenges.

The safety of Nigerians should remain the highest priority. Every child should be able to attend school without fear, and every citizen should feel protected in their community. The fight against insecurity requires urgency, commitment, and sustained action from those entrusted with the responsibility of governance.
