2023: We dare not miss this chance, Tinubu warns

August 29, 2022

By Nwafor Sunday

The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has warned his party members and indeed Nigerians not to allow the forthcoming 2023 presidential election slip way and fall on the wrong hands.

The former governor of Lagos state disclosed this on Twitter on Monday. Tinubu who assured Nigerians of development, growth, industrialization, progress and peace advised Nigerians that his government was not here to do ‘what is comfortable but what is right for our people and our country’.

His words: “We are not here to do what is comfortable. We are here to do what is right for our people and our country.

We are here to answer to a greater, higher calling. That calling is the love of Nigeria. We dare not miss this chance because we cannot be sure of another.”

Buhari’s ‘no-anti-party’ comment excites Tinubu

Kindly share this story:

By Godfrey George

28th August 2022

Buhari and Tinubu

The presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has said he has the backing of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), to lead Nigeria come 2023.

He commended Buhari for his ‘loyalty and commitment’ to the party, even as he expressed confidence of the APC’s “victory in the February 25 presidential polls”.

These were contained in a statement on Saturday by his Media Adviser, Tunde Rahman.

Tinubu, according to the statement, spoke when the National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and members of the National Working Committee visited the candidate at the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Office, Abuja.

The statement quoted Tinubu as saying that Buhari had resolved not to support any other candidate except those being sponsored by the APC.

The APC presidential candidate said, “I like the statement of Mr President a few days ago. (He was) firm, concise, straight to the point and bold as a leader of our party. We should commend the President for that statement. (I thank him) for his commitment and loyalty to the party and for being a true party leader.”

What happened between Tinubu’s wife, me – Dele Momodu

Kindly share this story:

By Deborah Tolu-Kolawole

26th August 2022

Dele Momodu and Remi Tinubu

A presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party and publisher, Ovation magazine, Dele Momodu, on Friday, recounted his experience with Senator Remi Tinubu, wife of the presidential flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, during the funeral of chieftain of the APC, Kemi Nelson, in Lagos, stating that he chose to place Nigeria above friendship.

Momodu, in a terse statement posted on his verified Instagram page via , said, “Only two people, apart from the photographers, witnessed what happened between me and Senator Oluremi Tinubu yesterday, at the funeral service of Chief Kemi Nelson, at (the) Archbishop Vining Memorial Church in Ikeja, Lagos.

“Before some people add salt and pepper to it, I need to state precisely what happened…

“Senator Tokunbo Abiru and Dr Tunji Olowolafe and I had walked in about the same time and we went to greet my very dear sister, Senator Oluremi Tinubu. Immediately she saw me, we exchanged our usual pleasantries and then she asked me, ‘So Bob Dee, you’re not going to campaign for my husband…?’ I smiled and remained very calm before replying: ‘Your Excellency, I’m in PDP…’ She apparently didn’t find it funny and regaled us with the past I shared with her husband and I tried to calm her down.

“Anyway, I went back to my seat and pondered on what just happened and I soliloquised: ‘Before the PDP Primary, I had been asked repeatedly by journalists if I’ll dump (the) PDP if I don’t get the ticket, my answer was NO. So if I had gotten the PDP ticket, would I step down for Tinubu of (the) APC, the answer is No.’

Davido hangs out with Govs Wike, Makinde others in Europe

August 23, 2022

By Miftaudeen Raji

American-Nigerian singer-songwriter David Adeleke, popular as Davido, has had a timeout with some governors on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Europe.

In a photo, which is now trending online, Davido could be seen in the company of Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo state; Nyesom Wike of Rivers state; Samuel Ortom of Benue state; and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state.

The music star could be seen enjoying a drink together.

Although details of the meeting were not made public yet, it was learnt that PDP governors are allegedly having a strategy meeting with the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in London.

Recall that Davido played an influential role in the emergence of hisuncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke as the governor-elect of Osun state under PDP, following the keenly-contested July governorship election in the state.

Adeleke had edged past the reigning Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the ruing All Progressives Congress (APC) to claim victory in the election.

Senator Adeleke had polled 403,371 votes to defeat Oyetola, who secured 375,027 votes.

Davido stood with Adeleke since the last governorship election in Osun, which was won by Oyetola.

Davido performed and rallied tremendously for Adeleke throughout the campaign period and till after the declaration of his uncle as the rightful winner of the Osun 2022 governorship election.

Meanwhile, Wike has been widely speculated to leave the PDP, following his fallout with Abubakar Atiku, who defeated W

Tinubu and Fashola
Tinubu and Fashola

Published By: Ademola Adegbamigbe
30th June, 2022

The minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola was 59 years old last Tuesday. The two terms Governor of Lagos State from 29 May 2007 to 29 May 2015 was born on 28 June 1963 in Lagos.

In an interview, Fashola revealed how Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu discovered him.

“That is an invitation to walk down memory lane. I think it must have been 1990 or 1991. He was treasurer in Mobil, then. His office was at the Bookshop House at CMS on Odunlami Street. I didn’t directly meet him. I had seen him at parties, but we never met. At that time, I was a senior associate at the law firm of Sofunde, Osakwe, Ogundipe and Belgore, where I was practising. Wale Tinubu, his nephew, came to join the law firm, then. He was always mentioning “Uncle Bola”, and one day, he said: ‘’let’s go and see my uncle.” We got there and went out to lunch with him. That was then I could say we formally met.

From then on, he would consult us on legal issues and we would help and give him advice. Sometimes, he would just come and say. “See we have this issue, what do you lawyers think?” We ran around and he would always give us pocket money. I think one thing that left some impressions on me was his commitment to his staff and that was symbolized by what I witnessed on a particular day after the Sallah celebration.

He brought Sallah meat to the office and supervised its sharing from floor to floor. As exalted as his office was, he was concerned to ensure that those who could not come to his house, even to the lowest driver, got part of the Sallah meat. I recalled that after the sharing of the meat, he sent someone to aggregate how much it would cost to buy a soft drink for everybody and equally distributed money to them.

The incident left an impression
