Nigeria Women Unite in Prayer as Sardauna LG Women Seek Divine Intervention for Kidnapped Schoolchildren
Today, amidst mixed emotions, the Wife of the Executive Chairman of Sardauna Local Government, Hajiya Jamila M. J. Umar, joined thousands of women across Sardauna LGA at an interfaith prayer session held in the area.
In her address, she commended the leadership of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) for bringing women together from the 11 wards of Sardauna LGA to seek the face of God for their communities, Taraba State, and Nigeria as a whole.
She reiterated that women have a unique role in nation-building and, as mothers, caregivers, peace-builders, and pillars of their homes and communities, their prayers carry great significance. She assured women across the local government that the spirit of unity and interfaith prayers demonstrated at the gathering would be sustained through monthly prayer sessions.
While sympathizing with the parents of the kidnapped schoolchildren, Hajiya Jamila assured them of the solidarity of women in Sardauna and their continuous prayers for the safe and speedy return of the children.
Earlier, the Executive Chairman, Hon. M. J. Umar, ably represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Paul G. Ngantem, commended the women for organizing the prayer session and officially declared it open.
Women leaders of FOMWAN and WOWICAN led intensive prayers for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, the Executive Chairman of Sardauna Local Government, Hon. M J Umar, and all leaders at various levels, as well as for peace, security, and progress in society.
Young girls cried out to God in prayer at this event, crying for intervention and for the release of their fellow children now in captivity.
