Gombe State Operations Coordinating Unit (SOCU) trains CBT teams and Enumerators participating in the National Social Register (NSR) Expansion and NIN Integration Exercise.

The training forms part of the project's implementation strategy to strengthen the capacity of field personnel and support the successful expansion of the National Social Register, enhancing NASSCO's ability to facilitate equitable access to social protection interventions for vulnerable Nigerians.

Participants were equipped with the knowledge and ethical standards needed to carry out a transparent, accountable, and inclusive enumeration process across all targeted communities.

Social protection is every well meaning Government's agenda for its people.

The National Coordinator of the National Social Safety Nets Coordinating Office (NASSCO), Dr. Funmi Olotu, has stated that social protection is now an imperative for Nigeria following recent economic adjustments.

Speaking on the Renewed Hope Agenda, Dr. Olotu noted that a mandate has been made to ensure every social intervention passes through the National Social Register (NSR). This move is designed to guarantee that transparency, accountability, and fairness are the hallmarks of support for Nigerians.

Linking the NIN to the NSR helps the system:
• Target the right people and stop double-counting.
• Build more trust in the national database.
• Make sure every naira reaches the verified, poor, and vulnerable households who actually need it.
