Zamfara Holds Monthly Sanitation Exercise, Commissioner Commends Residents, Urges Sustained Cleanliness Drive

The Zamfara State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Dr. Abdurrahman Muhammad Tumbido (Kogunan Maru), alongside the Executive Chairman of the Zamfara State Environmental Protection and Enforcement Agency (ZEPEA), Alhaji Muhammad Zangina Abdullahi Yarin Gusau, has commended residents across the state for their active participation in the August monthly environmental sanitation exercise.

He noted that maintaining a clean environment is a shared responsibility that requires the collective efforts of government, communities, and individuals.

Dr. Tumbido reiterated that the monthly sanitation exercise is aimed at promoting environmental hygiene, preventing disease outbreaks, ensuring proper waste management, and protecting public health across Zamfara State.

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of ZEPEA, Alhaji Muhammad Zangina Abdullahi Yarin Gusau, commended residents for complying with the sanitation restrictions and encouraged them to sustain the culture of cleanliness in their respective communities. He assured the public that the Agency would continue to intensify environmental monitoring, highway sanitation, drainage evacuation, and enforcement of environmental regulations across the state.

The Commissioner warned against indiscriminate dumping of refuse, blockage of drainage channels, and other environmental offences, stressing that the Ministry, in collaboration with ZEPEA and other relevant environmental enforcement agencies, will continue to enforce environmental sanitation laws to ensure compliance.
