It was a great honour to be part of the delegation representing Zamfara State at the 2025 Africa National Youth Day celebration, hosted at the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Abuja.

I sincerely appreciate His Excellency, Dr. Dauda Lawal, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, for the trust and opportunity to represent our dear state. Your commitment to youth empowerment is truly commendable.

Special thanks also to the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Zamfara State, for your leadership and support throughout the event.

To the Honourable Minister of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development and the entire FMYD team, we thank you for the warm reception and dedication to youth development across Nigeria.

*Zamfara State Youth Parliament Holds 2nd Plenary Sitting, Advocates Policy Action on Youth and Education Development*

The Zamfara State Youth Parliament convened its 2nd Plenary Sitting on Tuesday, 30th September 2025, at the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Mallaha Complex, Gusau.

During the sitting, Honourable Members deliberated on key motions focused on strengthening education, youth empowerment, and community development.

*Highlights of the Motions Presented:*

1. *Reintroduction of Foreign and Domestic Scholarships*
Presented by Hon. Nura Tulmi, Member representing Gummi West Constituency.
The motion seeks the revival of scholarship programs to support deserving Zamfara indigenes in pursuing tertiary education both locally and internationally.

2. *Promotion of Indigenous Teachers and Establishment of Vocational Education Centres*
Presented by Hon. Ibrahim Ibrahim, Member representing Maru I Constituency.
The motion calls for prioritizing the recruitment of qualified teachers from local communities and the establishment of vocational schools to equip youths with practical skills for self-reliance and employment.
3. *Reintroduction of Boarding Schools in Each Senatorial District*
Presented by Hon. Bashir Dalhatu, Member representing Bungudu East Constituency.
This motion proposes the re-establishment of boarding schools across senatorial zones to enhance access to quality secondary education.

At the conclusion of the plenary, the Parliament unanimously adopted all motions and *respectfully calls on His Excellency, Dr. Dauda Lawal*, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, to give due consideration to these resolutions in line with his administration’s commitment to youth development, education reform, and inclusive governance.

Earlier today, I had the privilege of meeting with my predecessor, *Rt. Hon. Abdulhamid*, the former Speaker of the Zamfara State Youth Parliament (1st Assembly).

Thank you for taking the time to meet with me. I sincerely appreciate the insights and guidance you shared. Your experience and dedication have clearly laid a strong foundation, and I am honored to follow in your footsteps. Wishing you continued success in all your future endeavors.

With deep sorrow and a heavy heart, the Zamfara State Youth Parliament mourns the passing of Member representing Kaura Namoda North, Hon. Aminu Ibrahim Kasuwar Daji.

Hon. Aminu was a committed, visionary, and selfless leader who dedicated his time and energy to the service of the youth and the betterment of his constituency. His contributions to the growth of our Parliament and the empowerment of young people in Zamfara State will never be forgotten.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, constituents, and the entire people of Kaura Namoda. May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, grant him Jannatul Firdaus, and give us all the strength to bear this great loss.

Yusuf Aliyu Moriki Emerges as Speaker of Zamfara State Youth Parliament.
