ZAMFARA STATE POLICE COMMAND

ARREST OF SUSPECT AND RECOVERY OF 800 ROUNDS OF 7.62MM LIVE AMMUNITION
In a continued effort by the Command to checkmate the activities of criminal elements and restore normalcy across the State, operatives of the Zamfara State Police Command have successfully arrested a suspect in possession of a large cache of live ammunition.
On 10th March 2026 at about 1950hrs, a team of Police operatives while on routine patrol along GusauβFuntua Federal Road at the Yankara checkpoint acted on credible intelligence, which led to the arrest of one Mannir Adam, 25 years old, male, of Yankuzo Village, Tsafe LGA, Zamfara State, who was riding a red Boxer motorcycle.
A thorough search conducted by the patrol team led to the recovery of eight hundred (800) rounds of AK-47 7.62mm live ammunition, carefully concealed inside the motorcycleβs fuel tank.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect was travelling from Unguwar Bawa, Saminaka LGA of Kaduna State, and heading to Kucheri Village in Tsafe LGA, Zamfara State.
The suspect and the exhibits were immediately taken into custody and subsequently transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further discreet investigation, with a view to apprehending other members of the criminal network and bringing them to justice.
