A Moment of Honour, A Name of Peace: Alfas Celebrate Hon. Olayinka Gbolahan Ibikunle as “Sulaimon”
It was a beautiful, unforgettable and highly celebrated moment in Ward 11 (Northwest) as respected Islamic scholars, Imams and Alfas came together to honour Hon. Olayinka Gbolahan Ibikunle with a name that carries a powerful message — “Sulaimon,” meaning Man of Peace.
The atmosphere was filled with joy, warmth and heartfelt prayers as the religious leaders acknowledged his humanitarian spirit, humility, generosity and commitment to the wellbeing of the people.
Following his generous donation of ₦1 million in support of humanitarian efforts and community development, the Alfas and the Chief Imam of Olopomewa, Imam Oluseyi (Arometa), expressed their profound appreciation for his gesture and his continuous concern for the community.
Then came the moment everyone will remember.
In a gesture filled with honour and symbolism, the Imams and Alfas bestowed on him the distinguished name “Sulaimon” — the Man of Peace. It was a moment of celebration, prayers and genuine affection, as the religious leaders publicly recognised the values they associate with his personality and service to humanity.
The significance of the moment was further heightened by the reference to the honour previously bestowed on Governor Seyi Makinde, who was also given the revered name “Saheed.”
The atmosphere became even more memorable as prayers, goodwill and words of appreciation filled the gathering. It was more than just a name; it was an honour, a blessing and a powerful statement of how his presence and humanitarian gestures are being received by the people.
With smiles, prayers and heartfelt appreciation, the gathering celebrated a man whose actions continue to inspire peace, compassion, unity and community development.
From this memorable gathering, a beautiful name now stands as a symbol of his disposition and service:
SULAIMON — THE MAN OF PEACE.
A name given with prayers.
A name given with love.
A name given in recognition.
A moment to cherish. A moment to remember.
