APPRECIATION AND CONGRATULATIONS ON THE SUCCESSFUL 2026 HAJJ
Courtesy Visit by the Delegation of the League of Imams and Alfas in Yoruba Land to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf
The League of Imams and Alfas in Yoruba Land (Rabita) congratulates the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON, Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, on the successful conduct of the 2026 Hajj operation.
The courtesy visit was led by a delegation comprising the Grand M***i of Yoruba Land, Sheikh AbdulRasaq AbdulAzeez Ishola; the Secretary General, Sheikh Mustapha Oseni Adewale (Dohak); and the Deputy Chief Imam of Osun State, Dr. Maruf Isola, alongside other members of the League.
The League commends the leadership of Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf since assuming office, particularly the effective coordination and oversight demonstrated during the 2026 Hajj. The operation reflects the importance of a strong and truly regulatory NAHCON capable of supervising Hajj and Umrah affairs in Nigeria.
We also appreciate his commitment to repositioning NAHCON as a regulatory body and his willingness to collaborate with the League of Imams and Alfas in Yoruba Land, the apex Islamic leadership body in the South-West, covering over 133 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas.
This engagement marks a positive step toward strengthening cooperation between NAHCON and established Islamic leadership structures, especially in areas of Hajj enlightenment, pilgrims’ welfare, grassroots mobilisation, and religious guidance.
The League further commends his humility, accessibility, and dedication, which have strengthened public confidence in Hajj administration.
On behalf of the League, we congratulate the Chairman, Commissioners, management, and staff of NAHCON on the successful 2026 Hajj operation.
We pray that Allah grants Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf continued wisdom, strength, and success, and blesses NAHCON with sustained excellence in service to the Nigerian Muslim Ummah.
