HON. ABDULLAHI SESAN OLOWA HOLDS HIGH-LEVEL PEACE AND SECURITY MEETING WITH STAKEHOLDERS IN IBEJU-LEKKI

In a proactive move to strengthen peace and security, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, on Tuesday convened a crucial stakeholders’ meeting that brought together traditional leaders, business owners, community groups, and top security agencies.
The high-profile gathering, held in Ibeju-Lekki, attracted prominent figures including traditional rulers, the Association of Hotel Owners, various Community Development Associations (CDAs), school proprietors, and concerned residents. Security heavyweights in attendance included operatives from the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC).
Chairman Urges Vigilance Amid Rumours
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Olowa expressed appreciation for the stakeholders’ commitment to the continued peace and development of Ibeju-Lekki. He called on residents to remain extra vigilant, especially following recent rumours of unfamiliar faces moving around some communities.
“We must all be security conscious. If you see something suspicious, please do not take the law into your own hands. Report immediately to the nearest security agency,” the Chairman pleaded.
Hon. Olowa also issued a specific directive to hotel owners, urging them to maintain proper guest registration and records to support effective security profiling and monitoring. The Paramount Ruler of Ibeju-Agbe and Onibeju of Ibeju, Oba Waliu Olasunkanmi Oguntolu, added his royal weight to the appeal. He encouraged residents to stay watchful of new entrants into their communities while commending the security agencies for their ongoing efforts in maintaining law and order.
Speaking on behalf of the military, the Commanding Officer of Epe Barracks, Lt. Col. Samson Enye, assured all stakeholders that security forces are working tirelessly around the clock.
“We are not resting on our oars. Our men work day and night to ensure the safety of residents. However, we appeal to the public to be cautious in the use of social media so as not to spread unverified information that can cause panic,” Lt. Col. Enye stated.
Representatives of other security agencies also reaffirmed their dedication to sustained collaboration with the local government and community stakeholders.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with all participants expressing a renewed resolve to work together in sustaining the prevailing peace and security across Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area.
