LAGOS STATE TO HOLD LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS IN 20 LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCILS AND 37 LCDAs.

In recent times, the leadership of APC in Lagos State has been inundated by the media, party members and other stakeholders on information about the conduct of the forthcoming Local Government elections , most especially if elections will hold in the 37 Local Council Development Areas - LCDAs, it has become expedient to clear the air on the needless and distractive speculation.

We wish to inform all and sundry that the Local Government elections will hold across the state in the 20 Local Government Councils and the 37 Local Council Development Areas in the year 2025.

Since their creation, the Local Council Development Areas have not only been the closest to the grassroots but also brought the desired developments across the state.

We observed with keen interest the recent debates on the desirability of the existence of the LCDAs and the need to hold elections in their political offices.

Our position as a progressive party is that we cannot discountenance the contributions of the LCDAs to the overall political and socio-economic development of the state.

Our landscape is dotted by several infrastructural projects by the LCDAs which include road , drainage and market construction , school and housing projects, primary education and health facilities and various social service interventions etc

The various collaborative efforts with the state government on refuse disposal, drain clearing and security are also pointers to their continuous relevance.

We hope this release will put paid to further speculations as regards the local government elections in order not to unnecessarily heat up the polity.

Meanwhile, we implore our members and all Lagosians to continue to coexist peacefully as we all strive to maintain the leading position of our state in the federation.

REJOINDER: SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON THE DISRUPTION OF AYOBO-IPAJA STAKEHOLDERS' MEETING

Our attention has been drawn to a misleading and baseless article titled *"Shakiru's Thugs Disrupt Ayobo-Ipaja Stakeholders' Meeting,"* which seeks to unfairly blame Hon. Yusuf Adisa Shakiru, the former Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, for the chaotic events that transpired during the Local Government Mid-Term Inspection and Assessment Stakeholders' Meeting on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

Contrary to the false narrative being circulated, it was not Hon. Shakiru's loyalists who caused the disruption, but rather the work of a faction loyal to Hon. Bisi Yusuf. It is imperative to clarify that this faction, in its continued attempt to undermine Hon. Shakiru and the peaceful proceedings, orchestrated the violence to destabilize the event and discredit the leadership of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA.

Eyewitness reports indicate that members of Hon. Bisi Yusuf’s faction, led by Lukman Abiodun Agbaje, emboldened by certain actors with vested political interests, were behind the mayhem that unfolded. This group has been notorious for deploying thugs to disrupt political gatherings, and the events of that day were no different. The intention was clear: to create confusion, intimidate participants, and prevent the smooth flow of the mid-term assessment.

While the article attempts to pin the blame on Hon. Shakiru and individuals such as Tadeyo Jamiu (aka De-Royal), the truth is that these names have been dragged into the controversy without any credible evidence. The real perpetrators are those loyal to Hon. Bisi Yusuf, who have consistently used violence to achieve their political goals in Alimosho.

Hon. Shakiru remains a respected leader with a solid track record of peaceful leadership. His tenure as Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA was marked by significant achievements and a commitment to the welfare of his people. The insinuation that he would employ thugs to disrupt an event of this magnitude is not only false but defamatory.

We call on the leadership of our party to launch a thorough investigation into the role played by Hon. Bisi Yusuf’s faction in this unfortunate incident. We believe that only through a detailed inquiry can the truth come to light, and those responsible for tarnishing the image of our party and our democratic process be held accountable.

The great people of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA and Alimosho deserve better than the reckless actions of a few who are determined to manipulate political outcomes through violence and intimidation. We urge all stakeholders to remain peaceful and focus on the development of our local councils, rather than allow the interests of a few to derail progress.

AYOBO-IPAJA LCDA REFUTES FALSE CLAIMS, REAFFIRMS SUCCESSFUL GAC COMMITTEE VISIT.

The Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has strongly refuted recent false claims surrounding the recent visit of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) inspection and assessment committee to the council area. The visit, which was led by Otunba Femi Pedro, aimed to inspect the performance and ongoing projects of the administration of Chief Mrs. Bola Shobowale, the Executive Chairman of the LCDA.

Contrary to misleading reports, the visit went as planned, with the Vice Chairman, Hon. Ladi Oluwaloni, ably representing the Executive Chairman, who was absent due to medical reasons. The GAC team, which included Otunba Femi Pedro and other dignitaries, fully recognized Hon. Oluwaloni as the Chairman’s official representative. He was joined by other principal officers, including the Council Manager, Mr. Saheed Babatunde, and the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Monsuru Danmola, to welcome the GAC team to the council secretariat.

Following a brief meeting with the council’s leadership, Executive Committee (EXCO), and management team, the inspection proceeded smoothly until a disruption occurred. Certain members of the audience expressed dissatisfaction with the recent appointment of Hon. Wole Aina as the new party chairman, leading to a disruption of the event. Despite efforts to maintain order, the unruly behavior of a few individuals forced the postponement of the inspection.

It is important to note that the postponement had nothing to do with the absence of Chief Mrs. Bola Shobowale, whose absence had been communicated in advance and properly managed by the Vice Chairman. Claims that the GAC team canceled the meeting due to her absence are entirely false. The event was only delayed due to the disruptive actions of certain party members, and not due to any mismanagement or lack of preparedness on the part of the LCDA.

Additionally, the LCDA firmly denies reports that any member of the GAC team, including Otunba Femi Pedro, was assaulted or mishandled during the event. Security personnel were on hand to ensure the safety of all attendees and promptly restored order when the situation escalated.

The LCDA also wishes to clarify that Chief Mrs. Bola Shobowale has only been out of office for two weeks due to medical reasons, contrary to rumors that she has been absent for six months. As evidence of her active involvement in the council’s affairs, she chaired the Monthly Community Development Committee (CDC) Stakeholders Meeting on October 4, 2024, as shown in pictures circulating on social media.

The public is urged to disregard the false narratives being circulated about the GAC visit and focus on the facts. The inspection will be rescheduled, and the LCDA remains committed to transparency, progress, and continued service under the capable leadership of Chief Mrs. Bola Shobowale.

YEYE SHOBOWALE, AYOBO-IPAJA COUNCIL CHAIR, COMMEMORATES YEAR 2023 TREE PLANTING EXERCISE WITH THE "THEME: LET'S GREEN OUR CITY"

"Let's Green Our City" was the Theme of Year 2023 Tree Planting Exercise, an annual event of Lagos State Parks and Gardens, an agency of the Lagos State Government, usually observed throughout the state.

This Year, as usual, the Executive Chairman, Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area, Alimosho, Hon. (Chief/Mrs.) Bola Shobowale (Yeye), led the Council Executive, Legislative and Management Team at the Commemoration of the exercise, held inside the Premises of Community Nursery & Primary School, Ishefun Ayobo, Alimosho, Lagos.

In her speech, welcoming everyone to the year's event, Yeye Shobowale reiterated the need, by everyone, to always grow and re-grow trees, at a rate more noteworthy than the rate at which those trees had always been destroyed, stating very clearly, several benefits of having trees planted by the streets, in the parks and gardens, as adding to the scenic beauty of the spot.

Yeye Shobowale further reeled out other benefits of planting trees aside beautification of environment as, enhancing lives through provision and spreading of oxygen into the air for human to inhale, absorb carbon dioxide thus making our environment safe, bear fruits for human consumption and that in several cases, gives cool shade under them against the scorching rays of the sun (at this point, bringing back the memory of the yoruba song, "Abe Igi Oronbo"). She thus enjoined everyone to plant trees in their surroundings and not just plant, but also be particular about the after care of the planted trees.

In the same vein, in her own speech, the Representative of the State Government and Council Manager, Mrs. Mojisola Ogabi, encourages everyone to plant trees, stating that without trees, there won't be future as tree planting gives a lot of advantages, having the capacity to provide shelter, conserve water, improve mental health, provide sustainable woods, serve as wind, encourage bio-diversity and most importantly, protect land.

Dignitaries present at the event were thrilled by the students of the School, Community Nursery & Primary School, Ishefun Ayobo, to wonderful performances appreciating the education intervention programs of the Council Chairman, Yeye Shobowale and illustrating the importance of Tree Planting, rounding off their performances with the popular yoruba song, "Abe Igi Oronbo, Ibe La Gbe N Sere Wa, Inu Wa Dun, Ara Wa Ya, Abe Igi Oronbo".

Dignitaries who joined the Executive Chairman, Executive, Legislative and Management Team to grace the event were the Executives of Community Development Committee, CDC, the Royal Fathers, the Iyalojas, Artisan Chairman, NULGE Chairman and some Community Residents.

MY BIRTH DAY 2023: AWESOME ARE YOU ALL, MY PEOPLE

As-Salaam Alaekum Sir! Good Morning Sir! Happy Birthday Daddy!

Those are the Early Morning Words that woke Me up yesterday, My Birth Day, coming from My Kids (I call Them, My Alubarikas), accompanied by their Mother, All seated round Me on My bed, simply to wish Me well and pray for Me on the Day's occasion, which they, of course, knew I don't celebrate (flamboyantly), but observe annually, with High Level Deep Reflections on My Entire Life (happenings in the Past & Present with a view to the Future).

And this Year 2023 was never an exemption, as I woke up and started the day with Deep Reflections and then saying Alhamdulillah Rabil Al'Ameen (Thanking My Creator, Almighty Allah, S.W.T.) with an Islamic song, Mo Dupe, by Yusuf Olamide Olootu", an Islamic Gospel Singer.

A Day that actually began with messages (first ever coming from My Wife, then My Mother, then a Close Friend and then My Extended Family Members) followed by calls & other messages, all of which are best wishes & prayers, coming from You All, My People, across All Works of My Entire Life (Professional Career Colleagues & Clients in Accounting & Taxation Management & Consultancy World; Political Career Leaders & Colleagues in the Socio-Political World and even the Religious World), through which, You All, Truly & Sincerely made My Day, thus pushing Me to further had Deep Reflections, in My usual way, about Life & Humanity with respect to the Humanhood.

My special appreciations to My Wife, Kids, Mother & Family; My Political Leader, Mother & Principal, Hon. (Chief/Mrs.) Bola Shobowale (Yeye), to whom I Am & Will Forever Be Politically Loyal; My Papa & Principal Manager in Professional Accounting & Taxation, Elder William Adamson Afemikhe (FCA); My Other Colleagues/Leaders in My Political Office, My Daddies/Egbons in the CDC/CWC/CDAs and the entirety of My Friends home & abroad.

I Am Most, Truly & Sincerely Grateful to Everyone, You Are All Awesome.
