SANWO-OLU COMMENDS STL TRUSTEES AT 30, REAFFIRMS LAGOS’ POSITION AS NIGERIA’S FINANCIAL HUB

The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has commended STL Trustees Limited for its remarkable contributions to Nigeria’s financial and capital market ecosystem as the company marked its 30th Anniversary celebration in Lagos.

The Governor, who was represented at the glamorous event by the Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Abayomi Oluyomi, described the institution as a symbol of professionalism, resilience, and corporate integrity.

Speaking at the anniversary ceremony held at The Jewel Aeida, Lekki Phase 1, the Governor noted that STL Trustees has, over the past three decades, distinguished itself as one of Nigeria’s foremost independent trust companies, playing critical roles in multi-billion-naira bond programmes, Sukuk issuances, estate planning, collective investment schemes, and syndicated lending transactions.

“Thirty years is no small milestone for any institution, particularly in an industry where success is measured not only by profit, but by credibility, consistency, and the confidence of people who entrust valuable assets and legacies into your care,” the Governor stated. He further described STL Trustees as “a proud Lagos institution and a shining example of what discipline, ambition, and enterprise can achieve within the financial services sector.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu also lauded the company’s forward-looking vision to expand its influence beyond Nigeria and emerge as a reference point for trusteeship services across Africa, especially within the opportunities being created by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). He reiterated the commitment of the Lagos State Government to sustaining an enabling environment that supports innovation, investment, and the growth of institutions that strengthen the nation’s economy.

The colourful anniversary celebration, attended by key stakeholders in the financial sector, was marked by glamour, networking, and the presentation of awards to outstanding members of staff who have demonstrated diligence, dedication, and excellence in service over the years. The Governor congratulated the Board, Management, and Staff of STL Trustees Limited on the milestone and charged them to remain steadfast in the values of trust, professionalism, innovation, and service as they begin a new chapter of growth and impact.
