Yesterday’s outcome at the APC party primaries is far beyond a personal victory; it is a profound expression of trust, unity, and confidence in the journey we have collectively built across Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

With a heart filled with gratitude, I sincerely thank the leaders and members of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the overwhelming mandate freely entrusted to me through the 68,648 votes recorded at yesterday’s exercise.

This unprecedented show of support is a strong reaffirmation that our people believe in continuity, visible development, responsive representation, and the shared vision of a Greater Ikorodu.

I deeply appreciate our revered Traditional Rulers, Party Elders, Women and Youth leaders, Religious leaders, Market Men and Women, Professional bodies, Transport unions, Artisans, CDCs, Political stakeholders, and the countless faithful party members who came out in large numbers to participate peacefully and democratically in yesterday’s process.

This renewed confidence is not a moment for complacency; it is a renewed call to greater service, deeper sacrifice, and stronger commitment to the people who continue to place their confidence in us.

Together, the journey of purposeful representation continues.

WHEN 9 ROYALS SPEAK WITH ONE VOICE, THE FUTURE LISTENS.

Today, at the palace of our revered royal father, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu and Paramount Ruler of Ikorodu Division, I had the rare honour of meeting with the distinguished traditional rulers of the major communities across Ikorodu Division.

In a profound demonstration of unity, confidence, and shared commitment to the continued progress of our people, the royal fathers spoke with one voice in endorsing our collective journey towards a 4th term of purposeful representation and transformational development for Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

I do not take this historic expression of trust lightly. For me, it is not merely an endorsement of a person, but a reaffirmation of a shared vision - a vision to continue building a Greater Ikorodu through impactful projects, strategic federal presence, youth empowerment, infrastructure development, improved healthcare, educational advancement, and sustained grassroots engagement.

Our traditional institution remains the moral compass and cultural soul of our communities. Their prayers, counsel, and support continue to inspire us to do more in service to our people.

I express my profound gratitude to our royal fathers for their confidence, fatherly guidance, and steadfast commitment to the peace, unity, and prosperity of Ikorodu Division.

As we continue this journey together, I warmly invite all party leaders, stakeholders, supporters, and the good people of Ikorodu Federal Constituency to tomorrow’s official declaration gathering tagged “Orange Day Declaration” holding at the Ikorodu Town Hall from 9:00am.

Yesterday morning, I had the privilege of hosting leaders, stakeholders, and loyal party members from my Ward - Ward C4, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA - at my Constituency Office for a very important engagement on the future of our dear Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

The meeting provided an opportunity for me to formally declare my intention to seek reelection as your representative in the House of Representatives, so we can continue the journey of purposeful representation, strategic development, and people-centred interventions across our division.

I was deeply humbled and inspired by the overwhelming turnout, the sincere expressions of support, and the unanimous vote of confidence reposed in me by leaders and stakeholders present at the meeting. Even those who were unavoidably absent joined virtually and sent warm messages of encouragement, reaffirming their belief in our shared vision for a Greater Ikorodu.

Particularly touching was the collective resolve that the good work must continue until Ikorodu fully attains the enviable status we all dream of - the “Miami of Lagos,” a thriving, modern, economically vibrant, and globally respected division.

I remain profoundly grateful for the trust, support, and confidence our people continue to place in me. By the grace of God, we will continue to build, expand opportunities, and deliver sustainable progress for every community across Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

The past few days in the Chamber have been a time of purposeful engagement - working closely with colleagues, exchanging ideas, and advancing critical legislative business in the interest of our nation.

As we approach the next phase of our party’s internal processes, I remain focused on the responsibility entrusted to us by the people, and committed to strengthening governance in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Across key sectors, we are beginning to see the steady building blocks of reform - driven by policy, sustained by collaboration, and guided by a shared vision for a more stable and prosperous Nigeria.

From our teachers, healthcare workers, security personnel, artisans, traders, transport workers, civil servants, entrepreneurs and countless others across Ikorodu Division - your daily sacrifices and commitment remain the driving force behind our collective development.

Today, we also join millions of workers across Lagos State and Nigeria in recognising the dignity of labour and the invaluable role workers play in nation-building. Your efforts inspire hope for a stronger, more prosperous, and more inclusive Nigeria.

Yesterday, I had the honour of joining other distinguished personalities from Ikorodu Division and beyond, drawn from diverse walks of life, at the prestigious Ikorodu Ultramodern Town Hall to celebrate a truly remarkable milestone - the 70th birthday and 20th Imamate Anniversary of the Grand Chief Imam of Ikorodu Division, His Eminence, Fadheelat Sheikh Seifudeen Àyìnlá Ademoritan Olowooribi.

It was a moment filled with joy, reverence, and camaraderie, as we gathered to honour a life devoted to faith, service, and the spiritual guidance of our people. The enduring impact of His Eminence’s leadership over the past two decades continues to inspire unity, moral discipline, and devotion within our community.

I am particularly inspired by his humility and deep sense of purpose, as reflected in his decision to use this special occasion to personally launch the seed funding for the reconstruction of the Ikorodu Central Mosque - a profound testament to his piety, simplicity, and unwavering commitment to the service of Almighty Allah.

I once again extend my heartfelt congratulations to His Eminence, his family, and the entire organising committee for a befitting and memorable celebration.

The Maternal and Child Centre Imota that was facilitated by me 2 years ago lived up to it's name today by delivering a record 3 sets of twins in one day.

This remarkable and unprecedented occurrence is not only a moment of joy for the families involved, but also a strong testament to the value of investing in quality healthcare infrastructure for our people. On a day when multiple births and other routine deliveries were successfully managed, the Centre once again demonstrated its capacity, efficiency, and readiness to serve.

It is deeply gratifying to see that what was once a vision has grown into a life-saving, life-supporting institution - one that has not only improved maternal and child healthcare but also contributed significantly to the upgrade of the facility into a full-fledged General Hospital for the benefit of Imota and surrounding communities.

I commend the entire hospital management and staff for their dedication and professionalism, especially the Medical Director, Dr. Adenike Omosun, whose leadership continues to inspire excellence in service delivery.

To the families blessed with these beautiful sets of twins, I extend my heartfelt congratulations. May these children grow in good health, wisdom, and grace, and may their lives continue to bring joy to their families and our community.

This serves as a reminder that the Renewed Hope Agenda focuses on investing in development centered around people, and the impact is genuine, evident, and long-lasting.
