COMMUNIQUÉ OF THE KWARA PROGRESSIVE CAUCUS (KPC) WEEKLY MEETING HELD ON SUNDAY, 23RD AUGUST 2026
The Kwara Progressive Caucus (KPC) held its weekly meeting on Sunday, 23rd August 2026, under the leadership of its Chairman, Mallam Tunde Yusuf.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman expressed profound gratitude to Almighty God for His protection over all executives and members of the caucus across the state, senatorial districts, local governments, and wards. He thanked God for the preservation of lives and noted that there had been no recorded loss of any KPC member.
Mallam Tunde Yusuf also acknowledged the significant improvement in the security situation, particularly the reduction in incidents associated with insurgency, banditry, Boko Haram, and kidnapping. He attributed the progress to the grace of Almighty God and prayed that the peace and security currently being experienced in Kwara State and Nigeria would be permanent.
The Chairman urged all members to remain good ambassadors of peace, unity, and harmony wherever they operate. He emphasized that, as people of a state known for harmony and as members of a caucus committed to progress, they must continue to preach peace, tolerance, unity, and peaceful coexistence.
He further stressed that calmness, obedience, discipline, and unity are key ingredients for sustainable progress, urging members to continue supporting initiatives that will move Kwara State and Nigeria forward.
In their response, members appreciated Mallam Tunde Yusuf for his consistent commitment to preaching peace and unity and for demonstrating the qualities of a true ambassador of peaceful coexistence. They encouraged all KPC members to emulate his approach and replicate the message of peace and unity in their respective local governments and wards.
Members further noted that the caucus has maintained a peaceful identity, with no reports of its members being involved in activities that cause disorder or instability. They reaffirmed that their collective focus remains the progress, peace, and development of Kwara State and Nigeria.
The meeting ended with appreciation to Almighty God and prayers for continued protection, peace, security, and prosperity for Kwara State and Nigeria, with a special prayer that the gains recorded in the fight against insecurity will be sustained.
