"Phoebe got to the restaurant and a wow escape her lips.
She has been in Chicago for at least 6 years now but she has never come across a restaurant like this.

"The restaurant was big enough to serve VIPs,the word You are welcome to"M&S restaurant" was beside the restaurant posing as someone inviting others in.

She entered the restaurant and the sight is amazing, chandeliers were hunged,the room has Golden colour.

Phoebe joined the line of people waiting and silently prayed for the job.

She wants to stop been a burden to Nana and make Lia regect ever insulting her.

GOLDEN HEART SCHOOL
CLOSING HOUR

"Regina is now fond of walking home instead of talking to the bus,she sings as she walk but her happy mood changed when she saw Tony standing with some boys, though young, Tony never accept defeat.

The boys with him are from another school and Regina once beat one of them for calling her his soulmate.
They are look angry as Regina walks closer to them.

Doesn't he ever give up? She mumbled to herself.

"Hey fatherless,I have been waiting, Tony smirked.
"Hey bully, I never told you to wait,she replied and Tony frowned.

Don't you learn your lesson already? Regina questioned angrily.
I plan to beat you today fatherless, you embarrass me in school today, Tony snapped back and Regina scoffed.

"I will report to Miss Suzy again,she said but Tony smirked.
Let see if your mouth will work then, everyone let's beat fatherless up,he shouted like a general and the kids cheered and wanted to pounce on Regina when...

"Stop, they heard a loud manly voice and paused, they all look at the man who talked and a wow escape some boys lips.

Chapter 23&24

"Tony knew there is nothing he can do again, not when Miss Suzy is hell-bent on seeing his book.
His bag was brought and he was instructed to take out the book by the headmaster.

"Be quick boy,we don't have all day,the headmaster said and Tony shoke.

Hey stop shouting on my son,he is a noble boy and...
Please ma'am, other classes are teaching, Miss Suzy interrupted Tony's mother.

"Just take it out,Roy yelled at Tony.
Stop shouting at me, Tony yelled back and they almost start to fight but they were separated.

Tony looked at Regina and he smirked
You will pay this fatherless,he said to himself and he took out the book and then everything was exposed.

AN HOUR LATER

"She can come home with me right? Phoebe asked Miss Suzy and Regina groaned.
She doesn't even want to go home now, talkless of going with her mother.

She is very aware of the questions she will asked and though she can't escape forever,she needs to prepare herself.

"Yes sure, Miss Suzy smiled.

But mommy,I want to stay till closing hour,she said and Phoebe frowned.

No, you are going home with me now

It's fine Mrs Carson, Regina can stay and besides in two hours, closing hour is here, Miss Suzy said and Regina nodded smiling.

Seeing her smile, Phoebe no longer remain asked but left alone.

"Regina entered the class and the kids have her pity gazes, Unlike others who went home after punishment, Tony refuse to go until closing hour.

He look at Regina and gave a creepy smile but though scared, Regina ignored him.

"All the employees are standing on needles right now,
"Why were they not told the CEO is coming?
"Why is he here earlier than planned?
Jason looked at the employees with cold gaze,he entered the company 20 minutes ago and the scene he saw was disappointing.

Everyone was doing what he likes and everywhere was scattered.
No one will think it's a company.

"You all are in for punishment, you all went against the rules of the company so pay for it,He said calmly yet firmly giving no room for discussion.

"Everyone shivered in fear, they have all heard about this wicked yet handsome man way and principle.
He took over just in 5 years and the company has gone higher now having international relations.

They really didn't expect him to be before them today but here he is, giving a wicked judgement.

"Who can afford the money for going against the company?

Or you stay and work for it, this place must be back like before within months,he added and everyone sighed in relief.

"Wow, CEO Jason, I'm really glad,the president under the company smiled but Jason only nodded.

"I will like to go out and enjoy the view, where is the best view?He asked and the man was surprised before making it.
"The view around Golden heart school is really nice,he smiled.

"Phoebe took a cab absentmindedly and just drop Nana's address, she was worried and a lot of unexplained emotions can be seen on her face.

"Why didn't Regina tell anyone about the bullying?

As far as Phoebe knows her daughter, she isn't the weak type,she must've been threatened.

Balls of tears rolled down her eyes
"I failed to protect our child,I failed to keep our Regina safe, I failed as a mother,she cried and that the taxi driver felt pity for her and said sorry.

She continued crying until her phone rings,she look at the screen and saw Helen.
She quickly wipe the tears and answer the call

Helen: Phoebe, where are you?
Phoebe:I went to Regina school, I'm on my way home already.
Helen: I saw a job offer for you at a restaurant, they need educated and professional server for their VIP members
Phoebe:Oh... Where is the location?
Helen: Phoebe,are you okay?, Your voice is horrible right now
Phoebe: I'm fine
Helen:if you say so, tell your driver to change location to the address I will send.
Phoebe:Ok, thank you so much Helen

"Phoebe took a cab and got the school early, she entered the office,she saw Miss Suzy, Regina and three other kids and three women.

She assumed Regina got in a fight but she can't see any bruised or injured part on anybody's body and she sighed in relief.

"Please take a sit, miss Suzy said and Phoebe sat beside Regina.

The Head master of the school came in moment later and the interrogation start.

"Mrs Carson, your daughter today reported to her teacher on being builled by her mates, did you know about this?The Man asked Phoebe and she was surprised.

"Regina? Builled? Her daughter is always cheerful well except yesterday.

"No, I don't know of this.

Mrs Smith, the Head master called shifting his attention on Tony's mother.
Your son is accused of builling another student and raising a gang,he....

"Don't you dare lie on my son, that kid is lying. My Tony is always good to people,the woman shouted.

Ma'am,calm down, Miss Suzy said but the woman is clearly angry.

What do you expect from a poor mother and daughter? I heard the Regina doesn't even have a father.How pathetic

I have a daddy, it is your son that is stupid and builled me to write his assignments for him, Regina defended herself.

Respect yourself ma'am,find out the true before making stories, Phoebe said calmly.

I know Lydia is stubborn but I never expected her to bully another kid so I will cooperate with your way of finding the truth, Lydia mother said and Miss Suzy smiled.
She is being sensible unlike the witch, just because her husband owns hotels,she is arrogant. Of course she didn't say this out.

Same here, Nathan mother and shot her son a look.

"Right now,the silence in Nana's duplex is similar to that of the graveyards. If a needle fall,the sound will be clear.

"Phoebe is trying hard not to cry,she looks at Regina with amusement. She knew she would asked but never thought it will be now.

"Nana can see that Phoebe will soon break down,she quickly used her eyes to send Phoebe out leaving her and Regina.

"Meanwhile, Regina not hearing Phoebe's response returned her attention to her assignment.
"Maybe daddy really hate me,she thought with sadness.

"Regina,she heard Nana's voice and she looks at the woman.
Yes grandma,she answered.
"You see Regina, don't belittle yourself, you have a father like everyone out there.
"Do my father hate me?
No Regina, don't think he does. Infact he loves you alot,Nana answered.
"Then why isn't he here? Why can't he live with Regina and mommy?

"What are you doing there? You sat down doing nothing?Nana is kind enough to let you live with her,she even sponsored your bastard of a child, can't you be grateful and do this little for her, Lia's angry voice sounded in Phoebe's ear.

"Never you call my daughter a bastard, I won't take it easy with you, Phoebe said calmly but a trace of anger is in her eyes.

"What? Will you beat me? l shouldn't call her bastard? But she has no father,Lia mocked and Phoebe almost bounce on her.

"Hey,hey, what is going on with the both of you? Helen moved closer to them.

Recently,Nana made Helen the manager and that is the reason why Lia apologize.

"I need to find another job, I can't continue to be a burden to Nana,she said to herself when her phone rings.

One week later.
Golden heart school.

"The students for this last week test are;
"Regina, Ryan and Tony.

But I'm surprised Tony, how come?The teacher asked and Tony answered with a smile.
"I just decided to make things right, I want to start reading and I just found reading fun and Regina choked on nothing.

"Seeing her best student coughing, the worried teacher asked.
"Sweetie,are you okay?
"I'm fine Miss Suzy,she smiled but she can see Tony frowning.

CLOSING HOUR.

"Regina wasn't able to leave the class early because of some works Miss Suzy has for her,she is already expecting to see Tony and his gangs at the place she will pass but surprisingly they are not there.

"Did he repent and decided to spare me?
But he gave me a I will kill you stare?She mumbled to herself and didn't see the pit filled with mud and she falls into it.
"She was almost scolding herself for being stupid when she heard laughter and no one need to tell her that it her buillies work.

Seeing them sing and mocking her, Regina started to cry and that alone made them happy.

"Did you guys made this dirty pit and made me fall in because of me being absent-minded?She asked with tears.

"With this thoughts, Regina left for home but unfortunately Phoebe didn't go to shop.

"After few minutes, she came back with her assignment book and ignored Phoebe and Nana.

"Can you see? Regina is ignoring me, Phoebe sounded angry but Nana was calm.
"Gina dear, what is wrong?Why are back late and still in dirty uniform?Nana asked but Regina also ignored her and focused on her work.

"Are you hungry?Do you want Grandma's apple pie with apple juice?Nana asked but got no reaction from the girl.

"What is wrong with you Regina? Phoebe asked but Regina cut in.

"DO I HAVE A FATHER?

"Regina started to walk home since she missed the school bus but she got home late.
"Fortunately for her, Phoebe isn't around so only Nana is at home.
Hello my Regina baby,Nana said happily opening her arms for Regina to hug and Regina jump into her arms but she was careful not to hurt the old woman.

"I'm fine grandma, she answered happily.
The crying and vulnerable Regina is gone.

"How is school?Are you hungry?

"School is fine, my teacher appreciated me for having A in my assignment and yes, I'm hungry, she said smiling and Nana feel glad that no one is troubling the girl,if only she is aware.
Good,I just microwave lunch for you,Nana said.

"Grandma, is there apple juice there?
Regina loves apple juice alot and Phoebe made Nana understand that Jason is the same.

"Sure,Apple juice lives in this house,Nana laughed and Regina ran to the kitchen but Nana stopped her.

"Regina,she called and Regina stopped and turn to see Nana.
"Baby,if you are having any problem in school, remember to tell Grandma, Grandma will fight for you,she said and Regina hesitated a bit before nodding and leaving.

"But she came almost immediately and asked,
"Grandma, where is mommy?
"Your mother is in the shop so be quick and go greet her,Nana said and Regina nodded but leaving again.

"After eating Regina left for the Vegetable store which isn't far from the house.

"Mom,she shouted rushing in and bumping into Lia.
"Seriously, Open your eyes while walking huh, I can't be dealing with a stupid mother and daughter at the same time,she hissed but Regina ignored her and walk away

"Mom,She shouted again and entered another part of the store where the cleaning equipments are kept.

"My baby Reg, Phoebe smiled and Regina jumped into her arms.

"Regina dear, make sure you always make yourself and your mother happy,She remembered Nana saying.
And I will make Nana happy also.

"How is school? Did my brilliant Reg make her teacher wonder what she is?Phoebe asked and Regina nodded.
Not only that, I made them clap for me.

"Seeing Phoebe's happiness and remembering Nana's words, Regina couldn't bear to ask her mother about her father.

"I will just continue doing Tony's assignment and bear it till Daddy comes,she said to herself.

"Go without me, take Mary along and clear the issue on ground, Jason cut in.
How is the preparation on the new Phoenix going?He asked instead.

"Sir, I'm afraid you have to follow us, this is a management issue and concern the shareholders, the company over there is facing mismanagement of funds problem and we need to fish out the person and get investors, Miles explained but Jason disagree.

"Miles knowing that Jason will go soft on hearing wife immediately added.
"My wife and kid live there and miss my family.
And as expected the man agreed.
"Let's go in the next month, I have a busy schedule this month,he mumbled but loud enough for Miles to hear.
"Thank you boss and I will be preparing our flights,he smiled and left.

CHAPTER 13 &14.

Two years later.

"Kira sat in the Chinese restaurant waiting for Sonia. She had sent a message to the number she knew and she had sent the location but she has been waiting for the past one hour and Sonia isn't here yet making her wonder if Sonia still use the number but she is assuring herself to wait.

"After Phoebe and Jason elope, Sonia had almost jailed Kira until it was found out that Kira has no information about them.

"Kira regretted her actions and wished she had agree to the marriage of the two and beg Sonia but her arrogance made her lose her only daughter.

"Kira touched her eyes only to notice she is crying already. She wipe the tears and look at the time,she has been here for two hours and Sonia isn't here yet.

"What do I expect? That she will come running after I stole from her? Maybe she isn't even using the number again, and even if she saw it, do I expect her to come?

After another fifteen minutes, Kira left and a man close to her table made a call.

"Hello ma'am, she just left,she waited for 2 hours,16 minutes then he hanged up and left.

FOUR YEARS LATER.

"As the closing bell sounded at Golden heart school and the teacher exit the class, the first to leave the class was a five year old girl, her ponytail flying after her as she ran out of the class.

"Regina ran away,get her, the voice of an angry boy can be heard and 3 kids ran out after Regina.

"Regina ran as fast as her small legs can take her but the three kids after her meet up with her and she was surrounded then the boy who seems to be the leader stood in front of her.

"Regina didn't look surprised but a tinge of fear is in her eyes,she look scared but not surprised definitely this isn't the first time.

"What do you du*****es and bastards want?

She asked with her soft voice but instead the kids laughed.

Seriously, I love fatherless Regina boldness, Lydia the only girl expect Regina laughed.

"I told you I am not fatherless, I have a father who look just like me, Regina argued but they laughed the more.

"That's a lie book freak, you only have a momma and a grandmama,Roy another said and Regina hissed.

"This is the first time you are rejecting me,I will make everybody know you are fatherless and your mother also sells vegetables,he threatened and tears start to fall from Regina's eyes.

"You unrecyclable trash, I have had enough of your nonsense, simply because you have rich parents doesn't give the right to bully me,she cried.

"Do my assignment always and we'll be at peace,Tony said and Regina who doesn't want to be a burden to her mother nodded reluctantly.

"See you should always be a good girl,he said and left with the others while Regina started to cry but remembering her mother will be waiting started to walk home since she miss the school bus.

CHAPTER 11&12.
This is hers and Jason's child and she will take care of the baby and she will take care of the baby.
Lady Nana saw Phoebe's determination and smiled.I know you are sensible.
6 MONTHS LATER,
'You can do it Miss,push harder,the nurse urged.
I can't, just leave it there, Phoebe cried.
Come on Miss, I can see the head of your baby, the nurse encouraged but Phoebe is too tired to move.

Shh,shh, baby girl,Nana ceoed but she isn't listening, she continues to look at Phoebe.
Phoebe thinking the baby is crying because of her tears, cleaned her tears and smiled at the baby and the baby stopped crying.
Phoebe smiled and said Regina.
Huh.

She will be called REGINA.

After declaring Jason has the name CEO, president and highest shareholder of Chestnut Enterprise, the old man left for the countryside.
Jason sat in his new office checking the company's financial files. The office has been changed to suit his taste. A small photoframe of a smiling Phoebe is on the table.
Jason stopped reading the file after a knock.
Come in,he responded coldly and a young man of about same age as Jason came in.
President,These are the information I am able to gather about The Phoenix, the young man said and Jason took the file from him.

President, I don't know if you are aware but the Phoenix has been disbanded by the former president and they have disappeared since then,he sighted out his concern.
Miles is the new assistant employed by Jason. He can tell his boss is looking for someone but the only one who can help have been disbanded two months ago.
I know Miles, now go back to your office, Jason said and Miles left.
Jason sighed and drop the file on his table.
He knew the Phoenix has been disbanded infact he once asked the old man.

I have disbanded the Phoenix Jason, the old man said.

After Jason got to Mexico, he settled down with the little cash in his hand and manage to get a job as the financial manager of a big Enterprise. A big company owned by a old man whose family had died in plane crash.
The man loved Jason like a son and treats him well. Jason is living fine but he knew he is not complete. He miss Phoebe alot. He meet ladies everyday but none like Phoebe.

Ever since Phoebe got to Chicago, she has been drawing attention from men.
She now works at a Vegetable store owned by a widow called Lady Nana. She will work and in return was provided with a room and everyday meal. It is no surprise that young men are now the regular customers at the store. The store is a big one and has other workers but right now they are sitting and watching Phoebe since everyone wants to buy from her.
'I hate her,Lia,A worker said angrily.
I don't,I actually feel pity for her, She is gonna be stressed out, Helen another replied.
Lady Nana should be back soon or Phoebe will collapse, Another worker added.
I don't care,she stole my position,Lia said angrily.
Oh please,We are now making multiple sales unlike when the attention was on you, instead of young people, older drunk men came, Helen hissed.

Neither did Phoebe, Helen replied. I'm off to offer help. She added and left the angry Lia.
When Lady Nana came back, Phoebe is almost dying but thanks to her, she spoke to the young men and they gave her a break.
