🌾 HON. ABDULLAHI BAMIDELE — AGRICULTURE PLAN FOR ILORIN EAST & KWARA STATE
“From Farming to Prosperity: Building an Agriculture-Based Economy That Works for Everyone.”
Agriculture should not be seen only as subsistence farming. It should be a pathway to food security, employment, entrepreneurship and better household incomes.
As part of the proposed agenda of Hon. ABDULLAHI BAMIDELE, ADC Candidate for Ilorin East Constituency, Kwara State House of Assembly, the focus will be on practical initiatives that can benefit farmers, young people, women and agricultural entrepreneurs.
🌱 KEY AGRICULTURAL PRIORITIES
1. Support for Smallholder Farmers
Advocate for easier access to improved seeds, fertilizer, farm inputs, extension services and affordable financing.
2. Youth in Agriculture
Create opportunities for young people to enter farming, agro-processing, livestock, poultry, aquaculture and other agricultural businesses—not merely as labourers, but as entrepreneurs.
3. Women Farmers & Agribusiness
Promote programmes that improve women's access to agricultural training, cooperative financing, processing equipment and markets.
4. Modern Farming & Mechanisation
Push for greater access to tractors, irrigation facilities, modern equipment and agricultural technology to improve productivity and reduce production costs.
5. Agro-Processing in Ilorin East
Encourage investment in processing agricultural products locally so farmers can earn more from their produce while creating jobs within our communities.
6. Better Access to Markets
Support farmer cooperatives and initiatives that connect producers directly with buyers, reducing unnecessary middlemen and post-harvest losses.
7. Food Security for Kwara State
Promote policies that increase local food production and strengthen the agricultural value chain—from the farm to processing, transportation and the final consumer.
