MANDALA CUSTODIAL CENTRE RECORDS LANDMARK INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENTS.
The Medium Security Custodial Centre, Mandala, Ilorin, has recorded remarkable infrastructural improvements following the successful ex*****on of key projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and the welfare of staff and inmates.
In a proactive effort to address the challenge of water scarcity occasioned by the harsh dry season, the Officer in Charge of the facility, Assistant Controller of Corrections (ACC) Ọláníran Adeniyi, facilitated the installation of a solar-powered borehole system. The project, which was completed and made operational today, 16th March, 2026, now provides a sustainable and reliable source of clean water within the Centre.
The initiative has significantly improved sanitation and general living conditions.
In a related development, the management also oversaw the renovation of the kitchen facility after it was severely damaged by heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds in early February 2026. The kitchen, which was pulled down by the storm, has now been reconstructed into a modern and improved edifice to support efficient meal preparation within the facility.
Furthermore, as part of the ongoing efforts to make life more meaningful to both inmates and staff the only es**rt Hilux operational vehicle attached to the medium security Custodial center, Mandala Ilorin has now wear a new look, as it has been refurblished from the old rough look. This has greatly promoted the image of the service and also enhanced smooth Court duty scheduled.
Speaking on these achievements, ACC Ọláníran Adeniyi expressed profound appreciation to Engineer Bolakale Kawu for his invaluable contribution to the successful installation of the solar-powered borehole. He also commended the officers and men of the facility for their cooperation, resilience, and unwavering support during the ex*****on of these projects.
These initiatives underscore the commitment of the custodial centre’s management to improving infrastructure, enhancing service delivery, and ensuring a conducive environment through innovative and sustainable solutions.
