Yesterday was indeed a remarkable and fulfilling moment in my political journey as I paid a courtesy visit to the APC Party Secretariat of Ilorin West Local Government. I was warmly accompanied by my dedicated ward executives, zonal leaders, friends, and family members whose presence added great value and encouragement to the occasion.
At the Secretariat, I had the honour of meeting with esteemed party executives, all ward chairmen across Ilorin West, and respected party stakeholders. It was a moment of unity, purpose, and shared commitment to the progress of our great party and constituency.

The highlight of the visit was the formal presentation and receipt of my Letter of Intent to contest for the Kwara State House of Assembly under the Ajikobi/Alanamu Constituency. This significant step reflects not only my personal aspiration but also a collective resolve to serve our people with dedication, integrity, and vision.

I am deeply grateful for the warm reception, encouragement, and support shown by the party leadership and stakeholders. It is a clear demonstration of our shared belief in building a stronger, more prosperous constituency and sustaining the progressive ideals of our party.

Together, we move forward with unity, determination, and a renewed commitment to service.

2027: Engr. Yusuf Salman Declares Ajikobi/Alanamu Assembly Bid, Unveils “Build Forward Agenda"

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Engr. Yusuf Salman, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Ajikobi/Alanamu Constituency seat in the Kwara State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Salman made the declaration during a well-attended gathering of party leaders, stakeholders, youths, women, and community elders, describing the moment as a “defining step” in his lifelong commitment to public service and grassroots development.

According to him, his decision to join the race followed extensive consultations across the constituency, noting that the move was driven by a desire to deepen representation and accelerate development.

“This decision is not driven by personal ambition alone, but by a deep commitment to service, a passion for development, and a desire to build on the progress we have collectively achieved,” he stated.

The aspirant highlighted his track record in community engagement and youth mobilisation, emphasizing that effective representation must go beyond occupying political office to delivering measurable impact through legislation and constituency projects.

Salman also used the occasion to reaffirm his loyalty to the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, commending the administration’s strides in education, infrastructure, healthcare, youth empowerment, and governance reforms.

He pledged to align with and strengthen the governor’s development agenda at the legislative level, stressing the importance of continuity in governance.

“If elected, I will provide responsive representation, champion people-oriented legislation, promote youth and women empowerment, and facilitate infrastructural and community development across Ajikobi/Alanamu,” he assured.

He further promised to prioritize education, skill acquisition, security, and sustained engagement with constituents through an open-door leadership style.

Unveiling his campaign theme, tagged the “Build Forward Agenda 2027,” Salman called for unity among party members and residents of the constituency, urging them to rally behind a shared vision for progress.

“This journey requires collective effort—your support, your prayers, and your votes. Together, we can build a constituency we will all be proud of,” he added.

The declaration signals the early start of political activities in the constituency as stakeholders begin realignments ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking at the event, Engr.
