*YELWA/MAGAMI ALUMNI*

Subject: **Formation Of Interim Leadership**

Dear Esteemed Members of Yelwa/Magami Old Students.

Recall that the first Alumni meeting of Yelwa/Magami Old Students was held on 02.02.2026 at NUT Hall, Donga Road, Jalingo, Taraba State where every Set (from 1995 to 2025) sent Representatives to discuss on the unification/merging of all classes of Magami Government Day Secondary School Old Students under one umbrella. It was a fruitful gathering and the following resolutions were made:

1. To form an Alumni where every Class will be well represented;
2. To design the core objectives of Yelwa/Magami Alumni;
3. To support our alma mata - Magami Government Day Secondary School Jalingo, Taraba State;
4. To assist each other, either directly or indirectly;
4. To elect a Leader who has the vision to achieving the above goals.

After all deliberations, we are pleased to announce the formation of an Interim Leadership for this Alumni.

This Leadership will be responsible for establishing interim basic governance and welfare systems for our platform until substantive officers are elected.

▫️The Class Chairmen/Presidents/Secretaries and all other representatives present at the meeting unanimously endorsed *DR ALHERI MICAH BULUS* (a Medical Doctor by Profession) as the Interim and Pioneer PRESIDENT of Yelwa/Magami Alumni.

▫️It was further agreed that all Class Chairmen and their Secretaries are to work with the newly elected President and to provide support and guidance to him whenever they are needed.

▫️It is expected that the leadership under DR ALHERI M. BULUS will ensure that the operations of Yelwa/Magami ALUMNI runs smoothly and that the welfare of all members is prioritized. This initiative is crucial for laying a solid foundation for the Alma mater's future endeavours and fostering a collaborative environment among all.

My name is *DR ALHERI MICAH BULUS*, from the Magami Government Day Secondary School Jalingo, Class of 2000 ("Magami Y2K").

This is to appreciate your Class support during our just-concluded 25 Years Anniversary/Silver Jubilee Celebration which held in Jalingo on 31st December 2025.

Recall during the event, there was a unanimous decision to form the "Yelwa/Magami Alumni" which will be an umbrella to unite every Class of Yelwa/Magami Old Students from 1995 set to date and also to harmonize our collective objectives.

In this regard, we are proposing to hold the first Alumni physical meeting on 02//02//2026 by 3:00PM.

I hope this message finds you all in good health and high spirits.

It will be an honour to host all the Class Representatives of Magami GDSS Jalingo during our 25th Anniversary Celebration scheduled to hold on *Wednesday, 31st December 2025* by *3:00pm* @ *Patience Event Centre* Jalingo.

On this day, we wish to present the proposal for setting up of an Alumni of Yelwa/Magami Old Students. This proposal has been on ground for some time now but yet to be actualised. We feel this is the right time to make this dream a reality.

In addition, considering the size and diversity of students who finished from this prestigious school, the Alumni will undoubtedly strengthen our bond, unite us together and make interactions among old students more meaningful, deliberate and create better opportunities for us, our teachers and generations yet unborn. It also will serve as a medium to give back to the community where we all benefitted from. Through this platform, we will have first hand information on, not only what the school is facing, but also on the various challenges some of us are facing, ranging from unemployment, health-related issues etc (not forgetting the children/orphans and partners left behind by our deceased colleagues) and see how to come in and assist, where necessary.

In view of the above, a new era of a joint all-class union (Alumni) would be established where every student, irrespective of their present status in the society, will come together to celebrate life because we are all one!!!
