In security, unless you can surpass Gov Kefas in,

1. Visiting and interacting with all security agencies at their headquarters to earn their support.

2. Maintaining the espirit d corp
with them in a way to guarantee their swift response to your request.

3. Initiating moves to have FOBs and Naval basis in strategic places

4. Working assidiously with the 6th brigade and the newly established 10 division

5. Curbing the menace of kidnappings and inner city crimes in record time as to restore confidence in the citizenry

6. Securing the borders

7. Deploying huge funds in oiling the security architecture

8. Collaborating with traditional and local security apparatus

9. Equipping all the security agents with modem tools of operation

10. Earning the trust and respect of the military, the DSS, the police and paramilitary agencies

Unless you can actually do better than Star Boy in all of these, then you dont have a plan to secure Taraba more than Dr. Agbu Kefas

Gov Kefas, President Boakai, Tompolo, others bag global award.

Taraba state governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas has bagged the Golden Image Award in Liberia. Others who were awarded include the President of Liberia, His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai (snr), Vice President of Liberia, Jeremiah Kpan Koung, and His Royal Highness Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo)

Earlier in a remark, Dr. Kefas noted that Africa's unity can foster development on the continent, even as Liberia is breaking new frontiers in growth.

The award event, which was held at the Ministerial Complex Monrovia, Liberia, Tuesday, was attended by the Liberian top government functionaries. The award, Golden Image Award, is the brain child of Amb. Juli Endee, a social worker dedicated to promoting excellence.

In her opening remarks, Endee said Liberia is gradually pulling out of its past image stained by the civil strife and the Ebola crisis. She noted that the current president of Liberia, His Excellency, Joseph Baokai, gave the first seed money sixteen years ago when the idea of the Golden Image award was first mooted.

Earlier, speakers at the award event noted the contributions of Liberia to the continent's tourism push.

In her own remarks, former President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, applauded organisers of the award, noting that it has uplifted the lot of the Liberian women. She said the award also celebrates the 20 years of unbroken peace in the country.

In a goodwill message, the Keynote Speaker, the Vice President of Liberia Hon. Jeremiah Kpan Koung said the award means a lot to the country, especially as it gets ready to celebrate its 179 years of independence. He said the President would have loved to be present but was held up at a security meeting. He hailed the organisers for celebrating excellence and inspiring hope. He noted that their consistency has turned the award into a veritable platform for inspiring hope.

Consequently, he noted that Liberian history highlights the sacrifices of those who came before us. He noted that one government alone can not build the Liberian they seek. He urged all Liberians to see themselves as stakeholders in the Liberian project.

Relatedly, the ambassador of China to Liberia, Yin Chengwu, noted that the award is a platform to recognise global excellence. He said China is proud to support the agenda of the Boakai administration from agriculture to the health sector.

Dr. Agbu Kefas dedicated his award to the great people of Taraba state, stressing he will continue to work for the advancement of humanity.

The governor was accompanied on the trip by Senator Haruna Manu, Hon. Mark Useni, Dr. Anthony Manzo, Hon Danladi Baido, Hon. Edward Umar and Emmanuel Bello.

1. Residents who now sleep with their two eyes closed
2. Parents who pay nothing to send their wards to school
3. University undergrads paying half their tuition fees
4. Pensioners and gratuities senior citizens
5. Patience receiving free medical care
6. Civil servants enjoying full implementation of minimum wages
7. Road users now plying newly constructed roads
8. Security agencies getting the proper funding and equipment
9. Those using the remodelled and improved Jalingo airport
10. Youths who have been rescued from years of unemployment

Try telling these categories that Gov Kefas is a failure and hear their response

Danji SS shouldn't twist Gov Kefas' comment.

We noted with dismay the desperate attempt to twist the words of Dr. Agbu Kefas by the Danji SS Media team.

The governor had said, durring the swearing in of advisers, that a governor can only be adequately criticised by another governor. There was nothing in the statement that suggests Governor Kefas does not listen to advice from his team.

What Dr. Agbu said is a common place truism. Experience, they say, is the best teacher. What that means is that individuals who have gone through a process are best equipped to provide more light in that direction. Invariably, Dr. Kefas was speaking about the time-honed understanding that only those who wear the shoes know where it pinches.

Dr. Kefas was thus paying tribute to the wisdom of his colleagues in the governor's club (past and present).

After all, is it not true that in many cases, only those in a particular situation have a better appreciation and grasp of the sector?

Moreover, the governor is also acknowledging the value of experience as opposed to cheap armchair criticisms. Like it is often said, talk is cheap. It is only those in the arena who know the heat of the play.

Dr. Kefas was not making light of the counsel of his advisers. In fact, it is a well-known fact that the governor hardly takes any decisions without thorough consultation with stakeholders.

It is for this purpose that the governor relies heavily on the services of advisers. He is a strong believer in the statement that in the multitude of wise counsels, a matter is established.

He therefore cherishes great advice and collective efforts in finding solutions to challenges.

8. Opening up employment opportunities for 1,800 jobs
9. Providing 500m for youth empowerment
10. Providing space for 550 medical jobs

Governor Agbu Kefas Joins APC First-Term Governors' Strategic Meeting

EBID AND TARABA STATE SEAL LANDMARK USD 268 MILLION FINANCING TO POWER INDUSTRIAL, AGRICULTURAL AND ENERGY TRANSFORMATION

LOMÉ, TOGO – 26 June 2026

The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) and the Government of Taraba State (Federal Republic of Nigeria) have signed three landmark loan agreements totalling USD 268 million. The agreements were executed at EBID Headquarters by Dr. George Agyekum Donkor, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of EBID, and His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas, Executive Governor of Taraba State, who led a high-level delegation of government officials, technical advisers, and development partners.

The financing package comprises three strategic interventions:
USD 91.23 million for Phase I of an integrated industrial park, a multi-cluster logistics and manufacturing hub designed to attract private investment, stimulate value addition and create jobs.
USD 79.21 million to develop 10,000 hectares of irrigated rice paddies and a modern milling and processing facility, strengthening food security and reducing dependence on imported rice.
USD 98.19 million to finance a 50 MW solar photovoltaic plant in Jalingo, improving grid reliability, expanding access to clean energy and supporting industrial growth.

The projects align with EBID's Growth, Resilience and Optimisation (GRO) Strategy, which prioritises investments that deliver measurable economic, social and environmental impact across its member states.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Donkor stated: "By investing simultaneously in industrial infrastructure, agricultural value chains and renewable energy, EBID is delivering an integrated development package with lasting regional impact. This partnership reflects our commitment to building resilient and competitive economies across West Africa."
Governor Kefas described the agreements as a transformational milestone for Taraba State. "This financing, secured through our partnership with EBID, lays the foundation for economic transformation by strengthening industry, enhancing food security and expanding access to reliable, sustainable energy for the people of Taraba State."

Collectively, the projects are expected to position Taraba State as a leading industrial and agricultural hub in Nigeria while supporting the transition to a lower-carbon economy. For EBID, the agreements further reinforce its role as a leading regional development finance institution advancing sustainable infrastructure and economic transformation across West Africa.

THE PHONE CALL

Media aide: Good day, sir. Honestly, the assignment is no longer easy.

Candidate: Why? What's the problem. I bought new phones and I sent you allowances.

Media aide: That is not the issue, sir...

Candidate (cuts in in anger): Then what's the problem. Do you need more data?

Media aide: No, sir. Honestly, we are running out of what to say about the governor.

Candidate (with annoyance) : What do you mean? Just keep saying he has failed, nah.

Media aide: Well, that is the problem. People no longer believe us.

Candidate: How do you know they are not believing you?

Media aide: Sir, most of the youths that we are targeting are not responding. We have been posting, but no one even reads our posts anymore.

Candidate: Have you been talking about the ghost workers' issues?

Media aide: Sir, you are not in the state. Governor has solved that problem. He absorbed over 3000 ghost workers, and they are now part of the civil force.

Candidate: And so? What about other youths who were not ghost workers.

Media: Sir, the governor is providing 1,800 jobs as we speak. There are also over 500 vacancies in the medical field. That angle is not selling...

Candidate (exasperated) ok ok, forget that. What about roads.

Media: Sir, you know u are always flying into the state. The governor is seriously fixing roads o. Both within the capital and outside...

Candidate: Im sure there are some bad roads. Go and snap them ...

Media: Sir, people are appreciating the governor already. In fact, it looks as if they are now more with him than before.

Candidate: Hit him on security....no no no. That won't sail. Hmmmm. Ok, what about pensions and gratuities.

Media: Sir, nothing to attack there. Didn't you know he is the one that restored the payment after 13 years of neglect?

Candidate: What about hospitals?

Media: Pls sir when next you are in Jalingo, come and see the School of Nursing. Then visit Specialist. He is doing well with health care, sir.

Candidate: What do you mean? You are sounding like you are also convinced.

Media: Truth be told, sir. I have never been more safe and secured like now. The state is safe. And my brother is at the university paying half the fee he used to pay. Even my uncle's wife is happy because of the free education at the secondary school levels.

Candidate: Are you now telling me we have nothing to say or what? Why am I paying you then.

Media: We can try other things, but we shouldn't be making fools of ourselves by touching on his records.

Candidate: Dont give up. I'll be coming in tomorrow

Media: Sir pls dont come by air, even though the airport too is receiving great attention. Kindly take the Wukari-Kente road and see what the governor is doing...

Candidate (cuts in angrily): My friend, don't tell me how to travel. And before I return, start digging for what u can write about, or else I will collevt all the gadgets I bought for u and ur team...

"Democracy is still the best form of Government"

Taraba State’s Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas has hailed democracy as the best system of governance in spite of the challenges confronting it. The Governor also saluted the current Nation's leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for upholding high democratic ideals against all odds.

This is contained in a June 12 commemorative tribute by Dr. Kefas in honour of the Democracy Day holiday.

Governor Kefas highlighted the role of separation of power, an independent Judiciary, and the free press as the bedrock of a democratic society.

He noted that the Nation's democracy has come a long way and has been tested by adverse political weather across the decades. Yet it had survived and grown more resilient.

Scoring President Tinubu high on democracy, Dr. Kefas said the executive branch of Government has not oppressed the other arms. He further described President Tinubu as a consumate democrat. He hailed him as a man of courage, conviction, and dedication to democracy who has played leading roles in nurturing our democracy.

Dr. Kefas admonished all and sundry to continue to work together to advance the frontiers of democracy. He emphasized citizens' participation in keeping the rule of law sacrosanct. He said citizens must know and value their roles in the social contract entered into through the ballot.

He noted that the right to vote is one that citizens must continue to protect and cherish with all sense of responsibility.

Consequently, Dr. Kefas applauded the role the media has played (and is still playing) in enriching the Nation's democracy. He particularly noted the resistance to tyranny and the fight against injustice championed by the media.

Dr. Kefas further stressed that no democracy can survive without a free press, noting that his government supports the freedom of expression as enshrined in the constitution.

Meanwhile, Dr Kefas has predicted that the Nation's democracy will continue to be strong due to the adherence to constitutional governance by all levers of power.

Consequently, Dr. Kefas saluted the Nation's armed forces for their role in deepening the nation's democratic experience.

Going down history lane, Dr. Kefas paid homage to statesmen and all who "fought authoritarianism to bequeath to us a solid system of governance based on the rule of law and constitutionalism". Their labour and dreams shall not be in vain. Our country today, therefore, stands as a testimony to their legendary sacrifices and the foundations they have laid."
