The successful dissemination of the Plateau State HIV Strategic Plan (SSP) 2025-2027 marked a significant milestone in strengthening Plateau State's response to HIV.

The event brought together NACA, government institutions, development partners, NEPWHAN, NIFCOB, civil society organizations, implementing partners, healthcare institutions, and community representatives to reaffirm a shared commitment to achieving the goals of the Strategic Plan.

A key feature of the event was the official unveiling of the hard copies of the Plateau State HIV Strategic Plan (2025-2027), symbolizing a renewed commitment to a coordinated, evidence-driven, and sustainable HIV response across the state.

The dissemination meeting provided an opportunity to present the Strategic Plan's vision, priorities, and implementation framework while fostering stronger collaboration among stakeholders to accelerate progress toward ending AIDS as a public health threat in Plateau State.

PLACA sincerely appreciates all participants and partners for their invaluable contributions, unwavering commitment, and continued support. Together, we will expand equitable access to HIV prevention, treatment, care, and support services, eliminate stigma and discrimination, and ensure that no one is left behind.

Plateau State Agency for the Control of AIDS (PLACA) successfully inaugurated the Committee for the Development and Domestication of the Plateau State HIV Anti-Stigma and Discrimination Bill and its Implementation Framework.

This important milestone demonstrates Plateau State's commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and creating an enabling environment free from stigma and discrimination.

The committee brings together representatives from government institutions, civil society organizations, networks of People Living with HIV, development partners, legal experts, and other key stakeholders to develop a comprehensive legal and implementation framework that will strengthen the state's HIV response and promote human rights.

PLACA appreciates the commitment and active participation of all committee members and stakeholders. Together, we are taking bold steps toward a more inclusive, equitable, and stigma-free Plateau State.

JOINT ANNUAL REVIEW 2026: PLACA JOINS THE PLATEAU STATE MINISTRY OF HEALTH IN STRENGTHENING SUSTAINABLE HEALTH SYSTEM ON THE PLATEAU

The Plateau Agency for Control of AIDS (PLACA), on Wednesday participated in the JOINT ANNUAL REVIEW 2026 of the Plateau State Ministry of Health, taking place from Wednesday, 15th to Thursday 16th July 2026 at the Millennium International Conference Center, Domkat Bali Road, Jos.

The Joint Annual Review for the year 2026 brings together government officials, healthcare providers, ALGON Plateau State Chapter, development partners, Civil Society Organisations, members of the State Traditional Council and Chief Executive Officers, CEOs of Plateau State Health Agencies.

The Review, tagged "Advancing Equity and Innovation: Strengthening Community – Centered Health Systems for Sustainable Impact," forms part of efforts of the Plateau State Ministry of Health in strengthening a Sustainable Health System across Plateau State.

Speaking during the event, the Plateau State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nicholas Baamlong, commended and appreciated His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Plateau state, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang in creating an enabling environment for the state's health ministry to thrive. He also commended the collaboration between the Plateau State Ministry of Health and the state's Health Agencies.

Dr. Baamlong noted that the Health Ministry remains committed to strengthening a robust and innovative health system that will create a healthy and prosperous Plateau for all. We are here to review past achievements, highlight critical challenges and make necessary recommendations for a sustainable health care system on the Plateau, going forward. He added.

The Director-General of the Plateau State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency, Dr.Dawal Humphrey-Kwande, leads His Team of Directors and other Members of Staff to participate in the Joint Annual Review Summit of 2026 of the Plateau State Ministry of Health.

PLACA’s participation of the Joint Annual Review of the 2026 is expected to further broaden the coast of enhancing the achievement of Universal Health Coverage, in line with Governor Mutfwang's commitment to providing quality and affordable healthcare for all Plateau residents.
